Hailey Pinto: Actress opens up about her first Home and Away Logies nomination
The 24-year-old, who plays Abigail Fowler on the popular soap, is in contention for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.
'I'm so excited,' she said.
'My first episode aired on August 8 (last year), so it's been a real wild ride.

'But it was also kind of nice to be able to sit with the news for a little bit, because it's quite overwhelming, as exciting as it is.
Pinto, who attended Sydney's Screenwise Film & TV School, graduating in 2001, said she initially struggled to get representation after graduating.
'I went through during COVID, so it was all kind of a great, big mess,' she said.
'After I graduated it was really hard to break in and get an agent, but, eventually I was able to get one a year-and-a-half after I graduated, and three months later I booked Home and Away … it was the first acting job I have ever been paid for.'

In the year since, Pinto has been front and centre in some major storylines, including one which saw her character Abby struggle with substance abuse.
'It was a really important story for me — I really took (the story) under my wing, and I really wanted to protect it and do it justice as much as possible,' she said.
'Addiction is such a heavy topic that affects so many people, and I know people around me (who have suffered), so it was important to me.'
Pinto is not the only Home and Away star up for a gong, with Lynne McGranger, who famously left the show earlier this year after playing her character Irene for 33 years, also noimnated.
McGranger is competing for the coveted Gold Logie.
'She is no longer working on set anymore, but I was able to speak with her a little bit,' Pinto said of their duel nominations.
Home and Away's Lynne McGranger and Hailey Pinto are nominees for the 65th TV Week Logie Awards, airing exclusively on Seven, Sunday August 3.

Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden marries again
Brian McFadden has married for a third time. The former Westlife singer - who was previously wed to singer Kerry Katona from 2002 to 2006 and later got engaged to Delta Goodrem before marrying model Vogue Williams in 2012, only to separate three years later - has tied the knot with Danielle Parkinson after nine years together. The couple, who are parents to Ruby, four, were joined by friends and family including Brian and Kerry's daughters Molly, 23, and Lilly, 22, at the nuptials on Lusty Glaze Beach in the English coastal town of Newquay on Saturday. Both McFadden and Parkinson have shared photos and videos from the wedding on their Instagram accounts, showing their matching white outfits, as well as sharing photos from their guests on their Instagram Stories. The 46-year-old pop star proposed to the PE teacher in 2019 and the couple originally planned to marry in 2021, but pushed back their plans by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And they then decided to further delay the wedding until their daughter was old enough to join in and guests could mingle freely without worrying about social distancing. Speaking to OK! magazine in June 2021 after the first postponement, he said: "We've moved it again. We were meant to get married in South Africa this coming January but with Covid and Ruby only being nine months old by then, it could be difficult. "So we've put it back another year to 2023. "Ruby will be walking by then and hopefully the world will be in a different state, and people won't have to worry about testing and isolating as we're having 50 guests." McFadden recently admitted he regrets not being around much for his eldest daughters when they were young. In an interview with Closer magazine, he said: "I was only a kid myself when I had Molly and Lilly, and I was at the height of my career in Westlife then - we were literally working 365 days a year, and there was no FaceTime so I couldn't speak to the kids. "I could only see them when I came home. So it was a lot harder and I missed out on a lot of the stuff that I would have loved to have seen with the girls." McFadden revealed things are very different with his youngest girl - and he's determined to be a hands-on father. "With Ruby, I have a lot more time so I can be at home and be a hands-on dad," he said. "It's the only thing I like about modern technology, that I can speak to all my children now whenever I want - which is a luxury we didn't have in the past." Channel Ten defends The Project replacement show 10 News+ after viewers dramatically decline in first week on air
Channel Ten has defended its bold new current affairs programme after the show failed to gain viewers throughout its first week on air. 10 News+ officially replaced The Project last Monday evening, launching with an average national broadcast audience of 291,000 viewers. In June, Ten first unveiled the axed news programme's successor as a 'premium, in-depth news, current affairs and insights program'. Promising "extended context and deeper reporting on the day's biggest stories", the show is anchored by ex-Seven talent Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace from Sunday to Thursday, with Ursula Heger and Hugh Riminton hosting on Friday. The network previously said it was keen to see the team's work delivered to audiences across the country, but audiences have so far failed to engage. 10 News+ almost halved its TV viewership by the week's end after intrigue piqued viewers' attention on the first evening. The show lost 47,000 viewers on Tuesday evening, bringing its national average to 244,000 viewers. That figure dipped to 205,000 on Wednesday and continued to decline, with a further drop to 159,000 recorded on Thursday. Ten's hopes for a comeback on Friday were dashed when a mere 152,000 people tuned in, or a decrease of 139,000 viewers compared to Monday. The fall in viewership is especially stark when compared to The Project's final episode on June 27, which saw 478,000 people tune in to bid the struggling programme farewell. However 10 News+ inherited the first half of The Project's 6:30pm–7:30pm slot, with the second half hour now freed up for the channel's primetime programming, meaning the two shows cannot be directly compared. Meanwhile, 10 News+ immediately follows Ten's 5pm bulletin, which enjoyed significantly higher ratings all week – as people actively chose to change channels rather than watch two hours of news on Ten. A spokesperson for Ten on Monday told the network was 'taking a long-term, multi-platform view of audience development.' 'Building a loyal news audience takes time, and we are prepared for gradual growth as audiences discover and connect with our unique approach to news delivery across many platforms,' the spokesperson said. '10 is fully committed to 10 News+. This is a marathon, not a sprint. "We are investing in building a sustainable, quality multi-platform news service that will grow and evolve with our audience's needs over time.' The 10 News+ anchor team will be supported by an existing pool of Ten reporters, including Political Editor Ashleigh Raper, Bill Hogan, Brianna Parkins, Samantha Butler, Carrie-Anne Greenbank and Claudia Vrdoljak. Former Project co-host Georgie Tunny also revealed she's staying with Network 10 as part of the new current affairs show. The 34-year-old presenter, who appeared on The Project for three years, joins the team just days after the long-running news program aired its final episode. "I've always been a fan of news delivered differently and am excited to be staying with the 10 family," Tunny said this month. "Can't wait to see where this new chapter leads!"
