Emmerdale's Joe Tate fights back with unexpected move to take down Crowley

Metro12 hours ago
Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) takes action in Emmerdale next week as he gets fed up of Crowley's (James Hillier) demands amid the grand plan to take down Kim (Claire King).
The businessman, as viewers know, is used to being in control of just about every situation, using people as pawns in his games in order to get what he wants.
Crowley, however, has managed to hit him where it hurts, with Joe realising earlier this week that he very much does not have the upper hand in this particular dynamic and situation.
After threatening to remove his kidney – the very kidney he placed in Joe just months ago – Crowley demanded that the young Tate hand over all his cash, rendering him penniless.

But this was just the beginning, with another twist confirming that the dastardly doctor is none other than Kim's new beau – and he's intent on stealing her fortune too!
Playing with fire there, Crowley. More Trending
Next week, the dodgy doc continues to woo Kim, who doesn't suspect any foul play as she grows closer to him. Joe, meanwhile, is very much on Kim's side in this war and thus he makes it his mission to stop Crowley's mad plan to steal her fortune.
Taking action, Joe organises a rendezvous with Crowley, who finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun upon arrival.
The question is: will Joe come out victorious? Can he reclaim his power? Or will Crowley be one step ahead?

Does Superman 2025 have a post-credits scene and does it set up a sequel?

Superman has finally landed in theatres to the delight of fans across the Saved The James Gunn-directed superhero movie sees a new Man of Steel (David Corenswet) take on the balding baddie Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), who has a sinister plot to take down Superman. Luckily for the Man of Tomorrow, he's not facing Luthor alone, and his friends Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), and Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), along with the Justice Gang, are there to back him up. The new movie has proved a hit with critics and fans alike. At the time of writing, Superman has a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 82% (although our own Tori Brazier has some thoughts on that) and an audience score of 94%. Perhaps unsurprisingly, then the film is tracking for an impressive opening with box office experts predicting it'll soar past the $100 million mark. Of course, if you're thinking of watching the film, you'll likely have one big question: 'Does Superman 2025 have a post-credit scene?' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Yes, Superman 2025 has two post-credit scenes. Warning spoilers ahead! The first is a short scene of Superman and his powerful pooch Krypto sitting on the Moon catching their breath after the events of the film. There's no dialogue, it's literally just Clark and his dog taking in the beauty of the Earth. Meanwhile, the second scene has a bit more going on. This fun clip shows Superman and Mr Terrific (Edi Gathegi) examining a crack in a building. As the pair of superheroes stare at it, Clark points out to his colleague that when he glued reality back together (Lex ripped a hole in our dimension earlier in the film) he was off by an inch. As a result, the building is ever so slightly out of place. A furious Mr Terrific then points out that he was busy saving reality and storms off as an embarrassed Superman apologises, admitting 'he can be a real jerk sometimes.' No, the Superman post-credit scenes don't set up Superman 2. However, the film does contain a few references that hint at the DCU movies yet to come. The biggest sequel hook comes at the end of the film, but before the credits, when a drunk Supergirl (Milly Alcock) turns up to pick up Krypto. Work is already underway on the Supergirl movie which is set for release on June 26, 2026. Superman 2 has not been officially announced but there are signs that Warner Bros and James Gunn are working on a follow-up of some kind. More Trending David Corenswet admitted to Vanity Fair, 'I'm already under contract for a sequel.' Lifelong Superman fan and Deputy TV editor Tom Percival shares his thoughts… James Gunn's Superman is a film with its heart in the right place. While it's a bit of a mess at times – both visually and narratively – it nails the optimistic, ever so slightly corny, spirit of the character and it's clear from all the zany ideas that have been crammed in that James is massive a fan of the comics. Arguably, though, the film's secret weapon is its cast. David, Rachel and Nicholas are sensational as the core trio. Meanwhile, Edi Gathegi steals every scene he's in as the aptly named Mr Terrific. If the rest of the DCU is as good as this film then its future looks s uper . Meanwhile, James Gunn explained to Entertainment Weekly that he's working on a follow-up to the film but said it's not a straightforward sequel. It seems likely then that we'll see Corenswet's Superman again but perhaps not in a film called Superman 2. Superman is in theaters now. Got a story? I Know What You Did Last Summer star says 90s horror reboot isn't 'gory enough'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video When the first trailer for the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot dropped, horror fans were thrilled by tiny glimpses at the 'brutal' death scenes – but one of the stars has revealed she wanted even more destruction. After what feels like years of waiting, the slasher sequel will be released in cinemas on July 18, following a vengeful hook-wielding killer hunting a new group of Southport locals. Madelyn Cline and Chase Sui Wonders lead the way in the revival, alongside Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers and Sarah Pidgeon – while OG icons Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr reprise their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson respectively. Following director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's promise that the horror aspect would be 'ratcheted up to 100', movie lovers were sent into a spin when a teaser showed one character being stabbed with a harpoon. However, speaking to Metro ahead of the premiere, Madelyn Cline – who plays Danica – told us that the shoot wasn't quite as gruesome as she was hoping for. When asked if she jumped straight into the stunts, gore and blood, or if anything went wrong at any point, she laughed: 'I think, to me, it was not gore-heavy enough … We wanted to go all gas, no breaks. 'Everything went really smoothly. We had at least a month of prep with stunts and lots and lots of tests to make sure because Jen is very meticulous. 'That's why I think she is the person to tell this story, because she's very specific. She's very meticulous, and she cares deeply about the way everything turns out. 'Everything was great.' To be fair, the trailer showed Danica enjoying a relaxing bath while her co-star was being attacked by the harpoon so she may have missed that particular moment… In the upcoming flick, a group of friends accidentally cause a deadly car accident before covering up their involvement and making a pact to keep it a secret – something that locals in Southport know a lot about… Unfortunately for the gang, their past comes back to haunt them, and they find themselves stalked by a mysterious killer hell-bent on revenge exactly a year after the fateful incident. The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was released in 1997 and became an instant hit, with Julie and Ray jetting out to the Bahamas for the sequel the following year. With the success of the franchise so far, Madelyn conceded that the cast felt 'pressure' to do the original movies justice, while giving everything a 'modern' twist. 'Well, yes, of course! I think we knew going into it, it was going to be its own,' she continued. More Trending 'It's not a standalone, but definitely the goal was to compliment the original and bring back what made the original so good as much as we possibly could. 'But also reintroduce new elements, and give a modern twist, and hopefully bring back everything that people loved, and also give them something to look forward to.' What are you waiting for…? 'Jake Paul showed his true colours by badmouthing me when I was in a wheelchair'

'Jake Paul showed his true colours by badmouthing me when I was in a wheelchair' Eric 'Butterbean' Esch has been out of the ring since his 2013 loss to Kirk Lawton, but he is eyeing a return to action as he looks to settle the score with YouTube sensation Jake Paul Jake Paul has carved out a successful boxing career (Image: Getty Images ) Butterbean has issued a fierce warning to Jake Paul as he considers making his comeback to the boxing ring. The 58-year-old American hasn't fought since suffering a TKO defeat to Kirk Lawton in 2013. And in the years since, the fighter, whose real name is Eric Esch, has faced an entirely different challenge: battling his weight and morbid obesity. ‌ Butterbean's weight ballooned to a staggering 500lb – equivalent to 36.7 stone – at his peak, leaving him wheelchair-bound as medical professionals warned he might never regain the ability to walk. Throughout this period, Butterbean alleges that Paul "talked bad" about him, only to alter his stance now that the veteran has regained his fitness through an extraordinary physical transformation, shedding over 200lbs (15 stone). ‌ Speaking to Mirror Fighting this week through Lucky Energy, Butterbean said: "As soon as he says yes, I'm ready. You know, I was in really bad shape. I was in a wheelchair for over three years. I couldn't walk. I got over 500 pounds. I was fat and sloppy and couldn't walk, and Jake wanted to talk bad about me then. "So, I decided to get my fat butt in shape. And guess what I did? I'm 280 right now, 285. I've never been under 300 in my life that I know of. And now that I'm ready, he's like, 'Well, dude, you're a legend. I can't fight you right now.' Yeah, buddy. Let's get it going." When asked about his confidence in potentially ending Paul's boxing career, he added: "I don't think he's afraid of me, but I think his people know that if he gets knocked out, his career's over. Like, I would knock him out bad. I hit way too hard for him." Article continues below Butterbean even described a potential bout with Paul as "one of the best fights of the year", as he claimed: "I hit too hard for Jake. Needless to say, Jake was a joke in the beginning. Just another YouTuber out there trying to prove a point. Butterbean has a message for Jake Paul (Image: 2012 The Ring Magazine ) "He's got a lot better... so I wouldn't mind sharing the ring just to fight him. Not just to shut him out because I think he was worthless, but he kind of p***ed me off." ‌ Butterbean attributes his significant weight loss to WWE legend 'Diamond' Dallas Page and his intensive yoga regimen, noting that at 58, he feels fitter than during his boxing heyday in his twenties. He said: "I'm not in a wheelchair no more. "I went and moved to DDP for a while, did his yoga programme, and I'm in the best shape of my life right now. I feel better now at 50-something than I did when I was in my 20s, which is insane. I can't explain it, but the Fountain of Youth, I dove in it and I come out so much better." Paul, on the other hand, has seen a meteoric rise since launching his professional boxing career with a first-round TKO against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib in January 2020. Subsequent victories included knockouts of Nate Robinson and wins over seasoned UFC stars Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. ‌ Butterbean hopes to fight Jake Paul (Image: ADRIAN DENNIS, AFP via Getty Images ) However, he experienced his first career defeat in February 2023, losing to Tommy Fury via split decision. Despite this setback, Paul bounced back with wins over notable opponents such as Nate Diaz, Andre Augustm, Ryan Bourland and Mike Perry. Last November, Paul faced what was touted as the most significant fight of his career, squaring off against former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson, despite a 30-year age gap. Paul emerged victorious from that bout, winning by unanimous decision. Article continues below He followed this up with another win last month against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, also by unanimous decision, improving his record to 12-1. As for his next opponent, it remains uncertain, although Butterbean is hopeful of enticing Paul into a lucrative match, despite ongoing rumours of a rematch with Fury. Butterbean has just launched a brand-new flavour of beverage with Lucky Energy in his Butterbean's Knockout Punch. The brand describes the fresh taste as "a tropical mix of pineapple, orange, cherry, with a heavy kick of nostalgia fruit punch." Butterbean spoke as part of his collaboration with Lucky Energy. You can find out more about his brand-new Butterbean's Knockout Punch flavour here.
