Pensioner on mobility scooter critically injured in crash
Emergency services attended and the pensioner was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where staff described his condition as critical.
Sergeant Ross Allison, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: 'Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this crash and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist to contact us.
'I would also ask any drivers with dashcam who were in the Gartlea Road area at the time to review their footage and please contact us if it holds anything which may be relevant.'

Police are continuing to hunt the machete thugs caught brawling in an Aberdeen park in an incident which saw a man rushed to hospital and an XL Bully dog die. The force's search for the attackers is ongoing after they launched an attempted murder probe into the incident on Sunday, July 27 at around 8:30pm at Eric Hendrie Park on Deveron Road. The attack was captured on video. It shows two men fighting in the park in front of a silver car, before a masked knifeman comes into view wielding a huge blade above his head and chopping down at one of them. The masked man is rushed by another man with the XL Bully on a leash. The dog is hacked at with the machete after it attack ed the man to the ground. Several men appear and begin fighting each other as the masked man gets to his feet and runs away from the dog. The car suddenly begins to move and appears to run over one of the men as it makes its way towards the thug with the knife. A second clip shows at least 12 men running around the park. The black and white XL Bully gives chase and barks as it follows the vehicle. A man holding a blade approaches the car and appears to get inside just as it exits the park. The clip ends as the car makes its way onto a road as the dog stands nearby. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 51-year-old man in Eric Hendrie Park, Deveron Road, Aberdeen on Sunday, 27 July, 2025. Around 8.30pm, officers were called to a report of a vehicle within the park and a disturbance taking place. "Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing in the area to trace everyone involved. A 51-year-old man attended Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following this incident. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable. His XL Bully dog died as a result of the disturbance." And today Police Scotland again asked the public for assistance in tracking her down. The force said she vanished from Kilmarnock at around 8.15pm last Friday. The last sighting of the 36-year-old was in the East Ayrshire town's North Hamilton Street, and officers want locals to review CCTV footage or doorbell camera for any clues. A picture of Michelle, wearing a pink top, was posted on the Police Scotland Ayrshire Facebook page. The post said she is 5ft 5ins tall and is of medium build. The force said she also has long brown/blonde hair and that she has a distinctive tattoo on the left-hand-side of her face, which is a star design. The tattoo can be seen in the picture of her posted alongside the missing person appeal. The tattoo is two stars and sits underneath her eye, just above her cheek.
