Trump agrees to Palestinian statehood, says Bishara Bahbah
Bishara Bahbah, chairman of Arab Americans for Peace, formerly known as Arab-Americans for Trump, told Al Arabiya that one sticking point in current ceasefire talks was whether Israeli forces would remain present in parts of Gaza.
He said a ceasefire deal was still possible and that he remained in contact with Hamas after the US withdrew from negotiations earlier this week.
Bahbah also revealed that Arab countries had convinced Trump to disavow earlier plans to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza.
'Trump informed me of his approval for the establishment of a Palestinian state,' Bahbah said.
Some Israeli far-right leaders held a public meeting on Tuesday to discuss redeveloping the Gaza Strip into a tourist-friendly 'riviera,' as Palestinians face a worsening humanitarian crisis in the devastated territory.
The name of the event evokes a proposal floated by Trump in February to turn the war-ravaged territory into 'the Riviera of the Middle East' after moving out its Palestinian residents and putting it under American control.
The idea drew swift condemnation from across the Arab world, and from Palestinians themselves, for whom any effort to force them off their land would recall the 'Nakba,' or catastrophe -- the mass displacement of Palestinians during Israel's creation in 1948.

Indian statement on Kashmir attackers ‘replete with fabrications': Pakistan
The Indian home minister's account of forces killing who he said were three Pakistanis involved in the April attack on Hindu tourists in the Jammu and Kashmir federal territory was 'replete with fabrications', Pakistan's foreign ministry said on Wednesday. Indian Home Minister Amit Shah told parliament on Tuesday that the three militants killed in a gun battle in a Kashmir forest this week were the perpetrators of the April 22 attack and that New Delhi had found evidence to back it. Pakistan has denied involvement in the attack in which 26 men were shot dead - the worst assault on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks - and sought an independent investigation. 'The account given by the Indian home minister is replete with fabrications, leading to serious questions about its credibility,' Pakistan's foreign ministry said in a statement. The attackers, who India said were Pakistani nationals backed by Islamabad, had opened fire in a valley popular with tourists in Kashmir's scenic, mountainous region of Pahalgam, before fleeing into the surrounding pine forests. It led New Delhi to target what it called 'terrorist infrastructure' in Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir, leading to four days of intense fighting in May between the nuclear-armed neighbors before they agreed to a ceasefire. The Himalayan region of Kashmir is at the heart of the hostility between India and Pakistan, who have fought two of their three wars over the region, which they both claim in full but rule in part. New Delhi accuses Islamabad of helping extremist separatists battling security forces in its part of Kashmir, but Pakistan says it only provides diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris seeking self determination.

Syrian FM will head a delegation to Moscow: Sources
A Syrian ministerial delegation headed by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani will travel to Russia, sources told Al Arabiya on Wednesday. Russia was a strong backer of ousted President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow played a vital role in consolidating al-Assad's rule in Syria in the aftermath of the country's civil war where it intervened in the war to his favor. Russia has been seeking to retain its naval base in Tartous and its Hmeimim air base near the port city of Latakia. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov visited Damascus in January after al-Assad's fall where he met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Developing
