But the area's reputation as a party hotspot has resulted in Albufeira residents calling for a spruce-up.
New regulations have been brought in to clean up the sunny town.

One of the regulations includes a ban on wearing swimming costumes, bikinis, or swimming trunks away from the beach.
Tourists caught strolling the streets in swimwear could be fined anywhere from €300 to €1,500.
Instead, wearing swimwear is only acceptable near a pool or on the beach.
As a party destination in the sun, day drinking and outdoor sipping are widespread.

But the new rules will ban drinking in the street, with those who get caught facing a fine of €300 to €1500.
The same fine will apply to anyone caught urinating or defecating in public.

Fines are more severe for frowned-upon activities such as public nudity or sexual activity.
Those found guilty could be fined anywhere from €500 to €1,800.

And spitting in public is also banned, carrying a heavy fine of €150 up to €750.

But the area's local council has said that those who break the new rules will be given a warning instead of a fine as the rules are eased in.
And signs will be posted around the area explaining the new regulations and the associated fines.

Jose Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, told Lusa news agency: "People have to start changing their mindset and behaviour.
"Our goal is to prevent these issues and not have to act after they have happened."
He called on nightlife venues in the area to uphold and enforce the rules as well.
And he asked that tourists and visitors be informed of the rules.

Rescue efforts resume after tourist boat capsizes in Vietnam
Rescuers were desperately searching for five people still missing after 37 were killed when a boat capsized in one of Vietnam's most popular tourist destinations. The tourist boat ferrying families around Vietnam's famed Ha Long Bay was lashed by a storm yesterday in one of the UNESCO World Heritage site's deadliest disasters. The "Wonder Sea" vessel was carrying 48 passengers and five crew members when it capsized because of sudden heavy rain, the VNExpress news site said. Most of those on board were families visiting from the capital Hanoi, with more than 20 children among the passengers, it said. Border guards had rescued 11 people and recovered 34 bodies by yesterday evening, it added. Overnight three crew members' bodies were found in the cabin and rescue efforts are continuing to find the five people still missing. One of the rescued, a 10-year-old boy, told state media outlet VietnamNet: "I took a deep breath, swam through a gap, dived then swam up, I even shouted for help, then I was pulled up by a boat with soldiers on". Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his condolences to the families of the deceased and called on the defence and public security ministries to conduct urgent search and rescue. Authorities would "investigate and clarify the cause of the incident and strictly handle violations", a government statement said. Tran Trong Hung, a resident in the Ha Long Bay area said: "The sky turned dark at around 2pm (8am Irish time)." "There were hailstones as big as toes with torrential rain, thunderstorm and lightning", he said. Torrential rain also lashed northern Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces, and several trees were knocked down in the capital by strong winds. The storm followed three days of intense heat, with the mercury hitting 37 degrees Celsius in some areas. Mai Van Khiem, director of the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, was quoted in VNExpress as saying that the thunderstorms in northern Vietnam were not caused by the influence of Tropical Storm Wipha in the South China Sea. Wipha has entered the South China Sea gaining strength, and is on course to make landfall in Vietnam early next week. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam's most popular tourist destinations, with millions of people visiting its blue-green waters and rainforest-topped limestone islands each year. Last year, 30 vessels sank at boat lock areas in coastal Quang Ninh province along Ha Long Bay after Typhoon Yagi brought strong wind and waves. This month, a ferry sank off the popular Indonesian resort island of Bali, killing at least 18 people.

After bust-ups, smash hits and break-ups, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally put their differences aside and taken to the road for their first gigs in over 16 years, kicking off their Live 25 tour with two triumphant gigs at Cardiff's Principality Stadium at the start of July. Former members of the group have also made a return with Andy Bell on bass, Gem Archer and Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs on guitars and renowned drummer Joey Waronker behind the kit. Children under 14 will not be permitted entry to any general admission areas on any date. Additionally, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult aged 18 or over.
