Nagpur: Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, hosted Gyan Sabha 2025 — its flagship
academic and cultural conclave
— on May 10. Organised by the department of applied mathematics and humanities under the aegis of the ISTE Student Chapter (BTech first year), the event served as a vibrant platform for creativity, intellect, and student-led initiatives.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr SS Khedkar, director, TBI Foundation, YCCE, and Dr Rakhi Wajgi, dean – training and placement. Dr Monali Dhote, head of the department and faculty in-charge of the ISTE Chapter, delivered the welcome address and outlined the event's objectives. The proceedings were deftly anchored by Ahana Bonde and Samyak Pusate.
Gyan Sabha 2025 featured six engaging competitions that drew enthusiastic participation from across the Nagpur region: Kavya (poetry recitation), Virtual Palette (poster-making), Ignite (science exhibition), Ganitgyan (mathematics quiz), Inkspire (article writing) and Vaktavya (youth parliament simulation).
A total of 331 participants showcased their talents, with many earning accolades for outstanding performances in various categories. The conclave concluded with a valedictory session and prize distribution ceremony. Anushka Gupta, general secretary of the ISTE Student Chapter, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, judges, faculty, and participants. Gyan Sabha 2025 reaffirmed YCCE's unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and holistic student development.

1 2 3 4 Nagpur: Department of computer technology at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) conducted 'Aarambh', the installation and oath-taking ceremony of the Computer Technology Students' Council (CTSC), in collaboration with the ACM Student Chapter. The event also marked the official launch of the IEEE computer society student branch, a significant step toward enhancing the department's professional and academic outreach. The ceremony was graced by Dr Prabhat Kumar Sharma of VNIT, Dr Kavita Singh (HoD, CT), Prof Shweta Gode, and Prof Kalyani Karule. Appointment letters and badges were presented to the newly selected council members, followed by the oath-taking ceremony for both the core and semi-core teams. In his keynote address, Dr Sharma motivated students to lead with clarity, discipline, and innovation, encouraging them to embrace responsibility and pursue excellence. A key highlight of the event was the teaser release of CompuFest 2k25, the department's highly anticipated annual technical festival, which generated enthusiasm among the audience. Principal Dr UP Waghe guided in making the event a success.

YCCE's Team Titans advance to final round of ISRO Robotics Challenge 2025

Nagpur: Team Titans from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) has been selected for the final round of the prestigious ISRO Robotics Challenge (IRoC-U 2025), organized by UR Rao Satellite Centre. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Competing against 23 other teams from across the country, the Titans have demonstrated exceptional expertise in robotics and engineering. The competition, which attracted 1,600 teams from institutions such as IITs, IIITs, NITs, and other esteemed colleges, began with a rigorous selection process. Initially, 177 teams were chosen based on their proposals. This was followed by two rounds: The qualification and elimination, where teams showcased their Autonomous Navigation Aerial Vehicle's readiness and capabilities. Recently, the competition's elimination round tested the Autonomous Navigation Aerial Vehicle in real-time via live video calls along with one ISRO scientist on-site to evaluate the performance. Team Titans excelled in this stage, earning their place among the top 16 finalists. The final round will take place at UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru, where the aerial vehicles will tackle tasks on an arena designed to simulate the Mars' surface. Team Titans is eager and prepared to compete with their aerial vehicle.

Visakhapatnam: Vignan'sInstitute of Information Technology organised a unique programme under the banner of 'EPL-IGNITE-2K25' here on Friday. The programme was organised for students of classes 7 to 10 at Pratibha Vidyalayam in Sabbavaram by the students of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Duvvada. The programme was conducted in three parts, including electronic component expo, poster presentation and live project expo. Prototype projects created by B Tech third year students were displayed at the venue. Energy efficient escalators, water quality monitoring through smart devices, automatic plant watering systems, robotics, automation and low cost electronic measuring device projects drew the attention of the visitors. The programme not only became a platform for innovative thinking among students but also served as a stage for learning school students. A total of 60 students, 240 school students, teachers and faculty of the institution participated in the event. College Principal J Sudhakar and Rector V Madhusudhan Rao congratulated the students, the convener and the ECE head of the department for organising the event. Convener M Karuna, associate professor B Bharani and HOD of ECE department Uma Maheswari were present.
