Give priority to sanitation to safeguard public health, Sedam officials told
Deputy Commissioner B. Fouzia Taranum has emphasised the need for maintaining cleanliness and preparing for potential flooding during her inspection tour of Sedam taluk recently. Chairing a progress review meeting at the tahsildar's office in Sedam town, she said that as the town continues to grow, sanitation must be prioritised to safeguard public health. Instructing Town Municipal Council Chief Officer Sharannayya Swamy to ensure effective garbage collection and to discourage open littering, she also directed the Police Department to take appropriate steps to improve traffic management within the town. She reviewed the ongoing civil works under the Public Works and Panchayat Raj Engineering Departments and stressed the importance of completing the projects on time without compromising on quality. In view of possible floods, she asked officials to stay prepared and ensure clean drinking water supply to avoid any health issues. She also instructed the Health Department to take proactive steps to prevent outbreaks of water-borne diseases. During her visit to the Sedam Taluk Record Room, she reviewed the progress of the Bhoo Suraksha scheme and directed officials to begin offering digital access to land records for public convenience in the coming days. Earlier, her visit began with an inspection of the installation of streetlights by KRDCL across the Malkhed-Kagina river bridge. She then visited the Village Administrative Office and the Arivu Kendra in Neelahalli village. At Bibballi village, she inspected the renovation work at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya being carried out by the Panchayat Raj Engineering Division. Later, she interacted with students at the model school in the same village as part of the 'Spurthi Kiran' programme, sharing motivational tips and encouraging them to start early preparation for competitive exams like KPSC and UPSC. She took selfies with the children, much to their delight. Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Channappa Rayanna and DDPI Suryakant Madane accompanied her. She also visited the Satapanahalli Jackwell that supplies drinking water to Sedam town and reviewed the ongoing works. In Shastri Nagar, she inspected the CC road work. At the park in Gandhi Nagar, she observed a tree-planting drive by members of women's self-help groups. She instructed municipal and Forest Department officials to develop a model park in the town. As part of the visit, Ms. Taranum inspected the recently inaugurated Indira canteen in Sedam town and tasted food. She appreciated the quality of the meals served and directed staff to ensure cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding premises. Accompanying the Deputy Commissioner on the visit were Assistant Commissioner Prabhureddy, Urban Development Cell Project Director Munavar Daula, Tahsildar Shreyanka Dhanashree and other senior officials of the taluk.

OSSC CTSRE Mains 2025 schedule out; to be held in September
The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has released the schedule of the Combined Technical Services Recruitment (Mains) Examination - 2024 (Advertisement No. 1233/OSSC dated 14.03.2024). As per the notification, the exam will be conducted on September 19, 2025. The detailed programme of the examination will be published in due course. A total of 3903 candidates have been shortlisted to appear for the Main examination. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 381 vacancies. The selection process includes the Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Certificate Verification. Meanwhile, the Commission has released the CHSL Mains admit card 2024 at for 1654 shortlisted candidates.
