Kelsea Ballerini addresses Lainey Wilson after ACM Awards sweep and social media buzz
The country star took to Instagram on May 10 to clarify her stance following speculation that she was upset about Lainey Wilson's sweep of major categories.
'Just stopping in to say I respect the hell out of laineywilson. As an artist, entertainer, and friend,' Ballerini posted to her Instagram Stories. 'A deserving queen.'
At the ACM Awards held on May 8, Ballerini was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Music Event of the Year (alongside Noah Kahan). All three categories went to other artists, with Wilson taking home two of them.
Following the ceremony, Ballerini shared a photo referencing the iconic 'And none for Gretchen Wieners' scene from Mean Girls, prompting mixed reactions online. Her boyfriend, actor Chase Stokes, also posted on Instagram calling her his 'Entertainer of the Year.'
While some social media users criticized the posts as unprofessional, others defended Ballerini, citing her consistent talent and multiple award show snubs.
My fingers slamming the like button on every tweet about Kelsea ballerini getting snubbed AGAIN. Girl had 2 back to back wildly successful albums (both with deluxe versions) & an arena tour. pic.twitter.com/75atACmjsl — just a girl💚🦋 (@courtlynn3695) May 9, 2025
https://x.com/pedrocomentts/status/1920662570299519187This isn't the first time Ballerini has lost out to Wilson—she also faced disappointment at the 2024 Grammy Awards in the Best Country Album category. Despite more than a dozen ACM nominations since 2015, she has not won since her early career breakthrough.
Still, Ballerini emphasized that acknowledging loss and celebrating others can go hand in hand. 'Two things can be true,' she said in a past statement, highlighting the complexity of awards show emotions.

Juggun Kazim responds to Alizeh Shah's accusations with public apology
In a recent turn of events in the Pakistani entertainment industry, veteran TV host and actor Juggan Kazim has publicly apologized to fellow actress Alizeh Shah following allegations that she once mocked a past mishap involving Shah. The controversy came to light after Alizeh Shah posted a candid video on social media, where she opened up about the disrespect and mistreatment she claims to have faced from various senior industry figures throughout her career. Among those she named were singer Shazia Manzoor, actor-director Yasir Nawaz, and television personality Juggan Kazim. Alizeh specifically recounted an incident where Juggan allegedly made fun of a fall she once had during Bridal Couture Week 2021 - an episode Shah says left her feeling embarrassed and humiliated. The imitation, according to Alizeh, was done insensitively and in a way that made her feel like the butt of a joke. In response, Juggan Kazim took to Instagram with a sincere video message directed at Alizeh. Referring to her as 'beta,' Kazim expressed remorse for unintentionally causing any pain. 'Alizeh beta, I'm calling you beta because you're the same age as my son. If anything I said or did caused you distress, I'm genuinely sorry,' she said. 'It hurt me when you said you used to respect me before and don't feel that way now.' Kazim explained that the video Alizeh referred to was recorded four years ago and that she had no idea it still carried emotional weight. She added 'if you had contacted me directly, I would have immediately apologized.' But she continued, 'Now that you've spoken about it publicly, I'm responding the same way.' This hit home for Juggun in particular, as she revealed that she too had once been on the receiving end of bullying during her early days in the entertainment industry. 'I know how damaging it is to be singled out or laughed at,' she said. 'I would never want a younger colleague to feel that way because of me.' The apology has been widely shared and appreciated online, with social media users praising Kazim's accountability and grace. Many lauded her approach as one other seniors in the industry could learn from. Designer Hussain Sheheryar Yasin echoed the sentiment, commenting under a post, 'Now that's a class act. Love you, Juggun.'

Sofia Vergara shares update following second medical procedure
Sofía Vergara, best known for her role on Modern Family, has undergone her second knee surgery, nearly one year after her initial procedure in April 2024. Vergara did not disclose the medical specifics of either surgery. Her previous operation occurred in spring 2024, during which she documented her recovery journey with social media updates. Since then, Vergara and Saliman have parted ways. As of January 2025, she has signaled single status in public appearances. Photos from backstage showed Vergara using assistance as she walked, while co-judge Howie Mandel gifted her a pogo-stick, style recovery device as a lighthearted gesture amid her mobility issues. Although she continues to fulfill professional obligations, including appearances on AGT and her Netflix series Griselda, Vergara is currently resting and focusing on recovery. Taylor Swift endorses Happy Gilmore 2 after Travis Kelce's hilarious cameo
Taylor Swift is raving about Happy Gilmore 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1996 golf comedy classic, starring Adam Sandler. The film, which dropped on Netflix July 25, features a surprise appearance by Swift's boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce — and the pop icon is calling it a must-watch. In an Instagram Story posted, Swift shared the film's poster and wrote, 'Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must-watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible 🍯.' Kelce's cameo has quickly become a fan favorite. He plays a restaurant manager who bullies his subordinate Oscar, played by Bad Bunny. One of the most talked-about scenes is a surreal fantasy sequence where Bad Bunny smothers honey on a half-naked Kelce, tied to a post, before he's left to be devoured by a bear. Kelce also appears in another chaotic scene where he chest-bumps golfers Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa through a table. The movie endorsement came just one day after Kelce hard-launched their two-year relationship with a romantic Instagram photo dump, showing moments from their offseason together — including ice skating, boating, and karaoke nights. Although director Adam Sandler said they didn't want to 'bother Taylor' with a cameo offer, he called her a global gift: 'She's done a lot for our planet, so we love her.' With her 13/10 review, Swift has once again proven her influence — and her support for Kelce's big-screen debut.
