UNRWA: Israel Starves a Million Children in Gaza

Khaberni5 days ago
Khaberni -UNRWA stated on Sunday that Israel is deliberately starving civilians in Gaza, including a million children, many of whom are suffering from malnutrition and are at risk of death.
The agency clarified that it has enough food for all the residents of Gaza for more than three months, stored in warehouses on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing.
On its X platform account, UNRWA called for lifting the blockade on the Gaza Strip and allowing the entry of food and medicine.
The international agency stated, "Lift the blockade: Allow UNRWA to bring in food and medicine.
UNRWA appealed to the Israeli authorities saying, "Lift the blockade, allow UNRWA to do its work and help those in need, including a million children."
This comes amid an increase in the number of children who have died due to malnutrition in Gaza to 71 children, according to the Media Office in Gaza.
Earlier, Hamas announced an urgent popular and official mobilization to stop this heinous crime and save hundreds of thousands of starving people who are besieged.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad Movement said that the cases of starvation and mass death in Gaza are the result of systematic occupation policies, adding that "the occupying army has established a militarized network through what is called the Gaza Humanitarian Institution and turned it into traps to kill the starving."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, which includes killing, starving, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders issued by the International Court of Justice to stop it.
The genocide has resulted in more than 198,000 Palestinians killed or injured - most of them children and women - in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many residents of the sector.
The Media Office confirmed that the number of deaths due to lack of food and medicine has risen to 620 amid intensifying famine and prevention of the humanitarian distribution of aid.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that unprecedented numbers of starving citizens of all ages are reaching emergency departments in conditions of severe exhaustion and fatigue. It warned that hundreds of those whose bodies were emaciated would be prone to inevitable death due to hunger and their bodies' inability to endure.

France, UK, Germany call for "immediate end" to war in Gaza

France, the United Kingdom, and Germany issued a joint call Friday for an 'immediate end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza,' demanding unrestricted aid access and a ceasefire, as civilian suffering under the ongoing "Israeli" blockade and bombardment intensifies. The statement followed a call between French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. It urged "Israel" to allow essential humanitarian assistance into Gaza and condemned the ongoing deprivation of aid to the civilian population as 'unacceptable.' The leaders expressed readiness to 'take further action to support an immediate ceasefire and a political process that leads to lasting security and peace for "Israelis", Palestinians, and the entire region,' though they did not specify what actions might follow. The announcement came just a day after Macron said France would formally recognize the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September, making it the first major Western power to do so. His move has exposed growing divisions within the European trio, commonly known as the E3, over how to address the humanitarian disaster. While all three countries support a two-state solution in principle, both the UK and Germany have stopped short of following France's lead. Germany reiterated it has no immediate plans to recognize a Palestinian state, while Prime Minister Starmer faces growing domestic pressure to do so. Earlier this week, UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting warned recognition should happen 'while there's still a state of Palestine left to recognize.' By Friday, 221 of the 650 members of the British House of Commons had signed a letter urging Starmer to recognize Palestinian statehood. 'Since 1980, we have backed a two-state solution. Such a recognition would give that position substance,' the letter stated. Following the E3 call, Starmer condemned 'the continued captivity of hostages, the starvation and denial of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, the increasing violence from extremist settler groups, and Israel's disproportionate military escalation in Gaza.' He emphasized that recognizing a Palestinian state should be part of a broader pathway toward lasting peace. More than 140 countries around the world currently recognize a Palestinian state, including several in Europe. France is now set to become the first G7 member to formally take that step. "Israel" and the United States have both condemned France's decision.

No proof Hamas stole US-funded aid in Gaza, says USAID study

A recent internal review by the US government has found no evidence that the Palestinian group Hamas systematically diverted US-funded humanitarian aid in Gaza, according to an unreported study by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The findings contradict previous assertions made by both 'Israel' and the US, which had been used to justify a controversial new armed private aid operation. The USAID study, conducted by one of its bureaus and completed in late June, examined 156 cases of lost or stolen aid reported by USAID partner organizations between October 2023 and May 2025. According to a slide presentation of the findings, the analysis found "no reports alleging Hamas" benefited from US-supplied aid. While the study noted it was often unable to attribute incidents of theft to a specific actor, it highlighted that 44 of the 156 incidents were "either directly or indirectly" due to 'Israeli' military actions, including airstrikes or evacuation orders. A State Department spokesperson disputed the findings, but did not provide corroborating evidence. The USAID report emerges amidst a deepening food crisis in Gaza, and humanitarian agencies continue to warn of an escalating famine due to deliberate starvation. This dire situation has made aid distribution points highly dangerous, particularly those managed by the new armed private aid operation, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is backed by the US and "Israel." According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 1,083 people have been killed and over 7,275 wounded while attempting to access food at aid distribution points since the war began. United Nations reports corroborate high casualty figures around these private aid hubs, with UN human rights office OHCHR noting 875 people killed by July 13 while trying to get food, with 674 of those near GHF sites. T he head of the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, has publicly called the GHF system a "death trap costing more lives than it saves." The ongoing genocide in Gaza has resulted in more than 59,500 Palestinian fatalities since October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The ministry indicates that over half of those killed are women and children. The war has severely devastated the enclave's infrastructure, gutted its health system, and led to widespread severe food shortages.

Netanyahu explores "alternative options" to free captives from Gaza

'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his government is currently considering "alternative options" to secure the release of captives held in Gaza, in coordination with US allies. Netanyahu claimed in press statements that US Middle East envoy Ariel Witkoff was correct in claiming that Hamas is the main obstacle to reaching a prisoner release agreement. He added that Tel Aviv is working on new strategies aimed at ending Hamas' rule in Gaza while ensuring lasting peace for the 'Israeli' entity and the region, according to his assertions.
