As Anna Wintour steps down from Vogue, this documentary reveals what life was like under her editorship
One of the most recognisable and influential figures in global fashion, Dame Anna Wintour, has announced she's stepping down from her editorship of American Vogue. The 75-year-old is the longest-serving editor at the world's magazine, having been at the helm for 37 years.
Her signature power bob, sharp fringe and black sunglasses have been a staple of the front row for every major fashion show since 1985 when she became the editor of British Vogue.
Hopping across the pond to Conde Nast's US headquarters in 1988, Wintour evolved American Vogue from a niche fashion magazine to a pop culture goliath. In her first year as editor, she put Madonna and Naomi Campbell on the cover, announcing the publication's pivot to celebrity.
One of her biggest accomplishments was turning the once-modest Met Gala into one of the year's biggest celebrity-driven occasions. Known for its provocative themes and high-fashion moments, Wintour has organised and presided over the Met Gala since 1995.
Wintour's legacy is arguably entwined with American Vogue, so it's perhaps no surprise that she isn't entirely taking a backseat. Continuing as Vogue' s global editorial director, as well as chief content officer for Conde Nast, her influence will likely continue.
If you're looking to delve deeper into Wintour's editorship at Vogue and her impact on the cultural landscape, last year's acclaimed documentary In Vogue: The 90s is a must-watch. Here's everything you need to know.
The six-episode series is a who's who of the fashion world. As well as Wintour, the exhaustive list of participants includes Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian, Kate Moss, Elizabeth Hurley, Tom Ford and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The documentary explores how American Vogue had little crossover between fashion and pop culture before Wintour's tenure. Taking us behind the scenes of the controversial cover featuring Madonna, it also reveals how American Vogue forecasted the era's supermodel It-girls, with the iconic 1990 cover featuring Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford.
The series takes us through this transformative decade in fashion. It covers everything from Kate Moss's Calvin Klein era and the hysteria around 'heroin chic' Liz Hurley's safety pin Versace dress at the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Gwyneth Paltrow's bubblegum pink dress at the Oscars in 1999.
Just as much about Vogue and the era as it is about Wintour, it's essential viewing for fashion fans and those curious about the former American Vogue 's lasting impact.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spark Swiftie fury after posing with 'MAGA' stars: 'Where is her self respect?'
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have sparked a meltdown among her fanbase after they were seeing hanging out with the 'MAGA' co-hosts of 'Bussin' With The Boys'. The popular show is presented by former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan and earlier this week they posted a picture alongside the power couple. 'Confirmed: Taylor Swift is FOR THE BOYS,' they captioned the picture on social media. But the viral image has caused fury among Swifties, one of whom asked: 'Where the f*** is her self respect?' Donald Trump appeared on 'Bussin With The Boys' ahead of last year's election and the ex-NFL stars were even given a shoutout during his victory celebrations. Dana White namechecked the podcast for helping propel Trump to victory over Kamala Harris. Back in 2023, Compton and Lewan were also seen shaking hands with the president at a UFC event. Now, Swift's decision to be pictured with the co-hosts has prompted a furious reaction on social media. 'You are who you surround yourself with,' one Swiftie wrote, while another accused the singer of having 'zero self respect.' 'When ICE is abducting people from the streets , this is who she chooses to align herself with,' they said. 'Show me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are,' added another. Swift publicly endorsed Harris ahead of last year's election, while Trump has made clear his dislike for the singer. 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!' he wrote on social media last year before attacking her again in recent weeks. 'Has anyone noticed that, since I said "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT," she's no longer "HOT?"' the president wrote. Those comments have not been forgotten by her fans in the light of her picture with 'Bussin With The Boys'. 'The fact that she still associates with people who are MAGA when Trump himself has personally attacked her…. where the f*** is her self respect,' one asked. 'Imagine being rich enough to make the world a slightly better place... then actively choosing to surround yourself with these thugs instead,' another added. 'What a waste.' Swift and Kelce have been together in Nashville over recent days, with the Chiefs star been hosting his annual 'Tight End University'. The singer even performed during the event, sending fans wild with a rendition of 'Shake It Off'. San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, who hosts the event with Kelce, lifted the lid on her surprise cameo. 'Taylor could not have been kinder, more nice, and she was like, "I think it might be fun to go sing 'Shake It Off'". And we were like, "It'd be amazing. Twist my arm, Taylor, please,"' he said. Speaking to Fox News Digital , Kittle added: 'She was fantastic. For the venue that, I think, it was maybe 1,000 people, that was the loudest 1,000 people I've ever heard in my entire life. It was an incredible experience.'

Fans roast 'painfully bad' NHL Draft change that sparked cringeworthy moment live on-air
The 2025 NHL Draft decided to go 'de-centralized' after years of having every team making their picks in one location. The results were not as smooth as the league hoped. In a manner similar to the NFL Draft, the NHL decided to let all the teams make their selections from their own offices rather than travel to one arena to announce the picks. While that opened up the floor for certain movie producers (Seattle Kraken owner Jerry Bruckheimer), musicians (Buffalo natives The Goo Goo Dolls), and even pro wrestlers (WWE 's Bayley, a fan of the San Jose Sharks) to announce picks rather than NHL commissioner Gary Bettman [all while subtly promoting themselves or their work], it was the 'Draft House' concept which generated the most backlash. In drafts of old, players would be able to greet the general managers and team executives of the hockey club which selected them on-stage and in person. With all the prospects attending the draft in LA and the teams elsewhere, that wasn't feasible. Wanting to continue that tradition, the NHL decided to set up video calls between team leaders and their new prospects, After each player was picked, they would walk behind the stage to a giant screen where - hopefully - they'd be able to have a natural, joyful conversation with the people they now represent. Instead, it led to many, many awkward moments where the technology betrayed the concept, players and executives stumbled over their words, and questions forced conversations that were met with muted reaction and delays. The most reviled concept was the 'Draft House' where players would speak to executives who selected them on a giant screen, replacing the in-person interaction from years past The NHL "Draft House" experience is only getting worse. 🏒📺🎙️😬 #NHL #NHLDraft — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) June 28, 2025 The worst example was when the Boston Bruins had the seventh overall pick. After taking Boston College prospect James Hagens (with the selection being announced by Adam Sandler as 'Happy Gilmore' ahead of the character's movie sequel), the player was escorted to the 'Draft House' where he faced a giant screen with team executives Cam Neely and Don Sweeney. After an ESPN reporter asked a leading question to get either Neely or Sweeney to respond, the two executives did not speak. A second attempt was made to try and elicit some reaction from the two struggling executives, but nothing happened and the broadcast was forced to make an awkward pivot. This was just one of many interactions which led to social media blasting the inefficiency of this year's draft, the poor concept, and what some believed was a failed attempt at making their draft process similar to the NFL's. Some meme accounts compared it to a scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens or the character 'Zordon' from Power Rangers - both of which involving figures that dwarf others. NHL podcaster and writer Pete Blackburn posted, 'This whole NHL Draft presentation is some of the most bizarre, sloppily thrown together s**t I've ever seen in pro sports. Every second is more bizarre than the last.' One fan said, 'They tried to make the NHL Draft a spectacle into the NFL Draft. It's failing miserably.' Another remarked, 'I cannot stress enough how terrible this draft format is. Like painfully bad. How the NHL can continue to overthink things every single event is beyond me.' Former NHL goaltender Andrew Raycroft even joked, 'Give me the old draft back'.
