Shaina took a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray, stating that he should think whether his surname is Gandhi, for allegedly aligning with

"Shiv Sena (UBT) continues to comment over Eknath Shinde - but they don't realise what Eknath Shinde says, he does. On the other hand, it's Shiv Sena (UBT), and what they say is the thought of Congress. They left their foundational ideology, which Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray gave... Uddhav Thackeray should think that his name is Uddhav Thackeray or Uddhav Gandhi, as he is pushing the ideology of Rahul Gandhi...", Shaina NC told ANI
Earlier, marking International Yoga Day with a political twist, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde took a veiled jab at his rivals, referring to his 2022 rebellion as the "bada Yoga" (big yoga) that changed the course of Maharashtra's politics.
Highlighting the day his faction split from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Shinde quipped that June 21 marked the beginning of a "marathon yoga" session that, in his words, brought political stability and development to the state."
'21 taarikh ko hi humne bada Yoga kiya tha,'" Shinde quipped, referring to the dramatic split in Shiv Sena that toppled Uddhav Thackeray's government. Speaking to ANI, Eknath Shinde said, "'21 taarikh ko hi humne bada Yoga kiya tha (splitting of Shiv Sena into two factions), wo marathon Yoga tha". That Yoga began in Mumbai, and because of that, on June 21, Maharashtra has changed a lot; we are seeing development here. Our government has been working for the people.

The party founded by Bal Thackeray, known as Shiv Sena (UBT), split in June 2022 when Eknath Shinde rebelled, leading to the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government headed by Uddhav Thackeray. Since then, the two factions have been locked in a bitter battle.

Raj Thackeray visits Uddhav on birthday, sparks political speculation

Mumbai, July 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray visited Shiv Sena (UBT) president and his cousin Uddhav Thackeray at the latter's residence 'Matushree' today to greet him on his 65th birthday, igniting fresh speculation across the state's political circles. The meeting is seen as the leaders' first direct engagement in a significant period. Raj Thackeray arrived at Matushree accompanied by senior MNS leaders Bala Nandgaonkar and Nitin Sardesai. He was welcomed by prominent Shiv Sena (UBT) figures Sanjay Raut and Ambadas Danve. Uddhav Thackeray personally came to the door to embrace Raj, an act widely interpreted as signaling a potential new chapter in both their personal rapport and political dynamics. This visit gains added significance following the two leaders' recent joint appearance on a platform addressing issues concerning the Marathi language and community. The meeting occurred as Shiv Sena (UBT) workers statewide enthusiastically celebrated Uddhav Thackeray's birthday, with Raj Thackeray's surprise presence lending an extraordinary dimension to the festivities. Alongside Raj Thackeray, leaders from various political parties extended birthday wishes to Uddhav Thackeray, including Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay Raut and BJP Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Kamra questions privilege notice: ‘Can't be used as shield against embarrassment'

Mumbai: Asserting that his remarks on deputy CM Eknath Shinde didn't interfere with the functioning of the state legislature, standup comic Kunal Kamra has said the notice on the breach of privilege motion moved against him appears to be mala fide and motivated. A breach of privilege motion is not meant to shield legislature members from the embarrassment or discomfort caused by a citizen's legitimate exercise of his freedom of speech, regardless of what position they occupy in the executive, he said in his reply to the notice. He said Shinde can't be equated to or conflated with the entire Vidhan Sabha. Legislature officials said state law department authorities are in agreement and have cited various Supreme Court orders to say that a breach of privilege motion can sustain only if a person's act restricts a legislator from discharging his/her legislative duties. Officials said they had recommended against admitting the motion, but legislative council chairperson Ram Shinde eventually decided to do so and send it to the privileges committee to initiate proceedings. "Shiv Sena first came out of BJP, then Shiv Sena came out of Shiv Sena. NCP came out of NCP, they gave nine buttons to one voter. .. Everyone got confused," Kamra had said. On July 18, the legislative council passed a motion allowing the privileges committee to submit its report on Kamra by the last date of the legislature's next session.

A hug, a photo, a signal? Raj & Uddhav meet again, this time at Matoshree on ex-CM's birthday

The meeting of the two leaders, estranged till recently, at the Thackeray abode comes in the backdrop of talks of a possible union between the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the MNS for the upcoming local body polls. It was Uddhav's 65th birthday and Raj landed at the Thackeray residence Matoshree in Mumbai, his first visit of note since 2012 when he had called on his ailing uncle Bal Thackeray in his last days. Raj had also visited Matoshree to invite Uddhav and his family to his son Amit's wedding in 2019, but it was a brief visit. Mumbai: On Sunday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray sprang a surprise on his cousin Uddhav Thackeray, as well as the public and politicians at large. Raj and Uddhav also held a victory rally earlier this month on 5 July to celebrate the Maharashtra government's rollback of two resolutions making Hindi the 'default' third language in government schools across the state. It was the first time the cousins had shared a stage politically after Raj broke away from the then undivided Shiv Sena in 2005. On Sunday, Raj was accompanied by party leader Bala Nandgaonkar. He presented Uddhav with a bouquet of flowers and hugged him, all while posing for the cameras. Party workers couldn't contain their excitement on seeing both Thackerays together again. Reacting to the birthday surprise, Uddhav told reporters, 'I am very, very happy and delighted.' Later, the two went inside and held a closed-door meeting for nearly 20 minutes. Raj also shared on X a picture of him and Uddhav posing in front of a portrait of Bal Thackeray, Shiv Sena founder. 'This is a hopeful and happy day for all of us,' Shiv Sena UBT MLA Bhaskar Jadhav told the media following the meeting. He added that whether the union of parties will take place or not would be discussed in a serious setting, not informally. Since their victory rally earlier this month, Uddhav has on multiple occasions said the cousins have come together to stay together. But Raj has stayed away from commenting on the possible alliance so far. His move Sunday is thus seen as significant. Speaking to the media in Nagpur, CM Devendra Fadnavis said Sunday, 'This is a good thing that Raj Thackeray went to wish Uddhav Thackeray on his birthday. What is the politics in this? Even we have given him best wishes.' This is an updated version of the report` (Edited by Nida Fatima Siddiqui) Also Read: 5 reasons Thackeray cousins Raj, Uddhav may bury hatchet, rally behind 'Marathi manoos' plank
