Exynos 2600 may debut another in-house Samsung replacement

Phone Arena19-06-2025

Samsung has been making moves to become more self-reliant for quite a while, especially focusing on its in-house processors like the upcoming Exynos 2600. A recent rumor corroborates an older report that Samsung is apparently also looking to introduce an in-house GPU on its Exynos 2600 chipset.
Last year, it was reported that the Exynos 2600 would have an in-house Samsung GPU. A new leak ( translated source ) gives further credence to this claim. If true, it could be a contentious shift on Samsung's part, as many tech enthusiasts still prefer Snapdragon chips over Exynos. Another in-house Samsung component will be subject to bias, regardless of whether it is warranted or not. Nevertheless, this is just part of Samsung and Apple becoming more self-reliant to decrease costs. The iPhone 16e debuted with Apple's in-house C1 cellular modem, and the Galaxy S26 may come with Samsung's own GPU if the Exynos 2600 is ready on time. Samsung was unable to prepare the Exynos 2500 for the launch of the Galaxy S25 line, and is determined to not repeat that mistake.
The entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. | Image credit — Samsung The Exynos 2600 will be manufactured using Samsung Foundry's 2 nm process. Exynos processors have historically lagged behind their Snapdragon counterparts, both in performance and heat management. However, I'm still hopeful that Samsung can perfect Exynos and achieve some semblance of what the Mac did with Apple silicon: an unprecedented performance jump.
If the Exynos 2600 debuts in the Galaxy S26 , then Samsung will have beat Apple to a 2 nm chip. The iPhone 18 will use the 3 nm A19 chips manufactured by TSMC ( Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company ). However, if the Exynos 2600 isn't ready on time, then Samsung will likely use the more expensive 3 nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. A former Huawei GPU lead is reportedly working with Samsung to design its in-house GPU for the Exynos 2600. Prior to this, Exynos chips have used GPUs designed after AMD's architecture. As this will be a first-generation design, it may not be as powerful as the competition, but I don't think it should take Samsung too long to improve upon this.
Lastly, some consumers may not even get to use Samsung's in-house GPU on their Galaxy S26 . Reports indicate that the company is moving back to separate variants for different regions. So, while some countries will get the Exynos 2600, others may still get a Snapdragon phone instead. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 dimensions leak again

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are expected to launch as the brand's slimmest and lightest foldable phones next week. Ahead of the big announcement, leakster Setsuna Digital shared some preliminary dimensions for both devices. In related news, Evan Blass shared additional official-looking renders for Samsung's upcoming foldable, showing off their updated slim designs. Galaxy Z Fold7 Galaxy Z Fold7 will measure 8.9mm when folded and a mere 4.2mm when unfolded. If these dimensions are in fact true, Z Fold7 would edge out the current champion – vivo's X Fold5, which is 9.2 mm and 4.3 mm respectively and 217 grams. Galaxy Z Fold7 is reportedly getting an enhanced armored aluminum frame and glass ceramic back panel. Z Fold7's tenure as the thinnest foldable may be short-lived, though, as Honor is launching its Magic V5 later this week, which will be 8.8mm thin in its folded state. Galaxy Z Flip7 Galaxy Z Flip7 will come in at 13.7mm folded and 6.5mm unfolded while weighing 188 grams. These dimensions would make Z Flip7 the undisputed slimmest flip foldable to date. Best Buy is now selling Samsung's breathtaking Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra at $500 off with no strings

It's only June 30, but Best Buy has already kicked off a massive 4th of July Sale, offering hard-to-beat discounts on many of the best tablets out there with absolutely no special requirements or strings attached. $500 off (42%) Wi-Fi Only, 256GB Storage, 12GB RAM, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor, 14.6-Inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with 2960 x 1848 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, AKG Tuned Quad Speakers with Dolby Atmos Support, 13 + 8MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 12 +12MP Dual Front-Facing Cameras, 11,200mAh Battery with 45W Charging Capabilities, Graphite Color, S Pen Included, No Special Requirements Buy at BestBuy That brings the 14.6-inch Android powerhouse down from a list price of $1,199.99 to $699.99, which is what a smaller mid-ranger like the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ normally costs. Granted, the Tab S9 Ultra is not Samsung's latest jumbo-sized flagship, but its super-premium design and top-of-the-line specifications are really close to those of the younger and much pricier Tab S10 Ultra. As such, you'd be foolish not to at least consider taking advantage of this phenomenal new Best Buy deal, especially after Samsung seemingly discontinued the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra , which is likely to lead to the tablet's retirement from all major third-party US retailers in the not-too-distant future. That means you may not have a lot of time left to get this bad boy... at any price, let alone just seven Benjamins. Apart from its sheer size, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will also take your breath away with the quality of that Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate technology, as well as the outstanding battery life, razor-thin profile, super-robust construction, and last but not least, built-in S Pen. Unless you're a hardcore Apple fan who absolutely needs to own the latest and greatest iPad Pro around, it's incredibly difficult to find a better offer on a better tablet today. Of course, next week is Amazon Prime Day... week, but I still think this is the moment to pull the trigger and Best Buy the place to do it. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! iPhone 17 Pro redesign rumors heat up – could Apple move its logo for the first time in years?

There's a rumored redesign planned for the iPhone 17 Pro models. Nothing is confirmed at this point, but there have been multiple reports (mainly by one or two leakers, though) that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may get a bigger camera island that spans across the top part of the phone. Now, Majin Bu, who's been one of the main voices in the leaks about the new design (and who has a mixed track record when it comes to leaks) claims the new design may force Apple to move its logo. Bu is sharing a new image and claiming the Apple logo may be lower because of this new design. The logo supposedly would be at the center bottom part of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, below the camera bar. Majin Bu claims that this information comes from a company that "specializes in cases for the iPhone 17 Pro line". Apparently, this company has confirmed they are already working on cases for the new design. Image Credit - Majin Bu Apple moving the logo is not entirely impossible, although it seems a bit unnecessary – there aren't practical requirements for that. However, Apple did move its logo with the iPhone 11 in 2019. If you remember, before that phone, Apple's logo sat higher on the back of iPhones (but the word "iPhone" was also written lower on the phone's back), and now, the Apple logo is taking a central position. If the expected camera island redesign is indeed true, this would be the first major change to the cameras since the iPhone 11. Reportedly, the three cameras will remain on the left side but the flash and LiDAR would move to the right. Earlier, Bu also claimed the iPhone 17 Pro would get a vapor chamber cool system, but now seems less confident about this particular rumor. Apparently, there have been some "challenges" to address and they may eventually not come. But, it's important to note that Apple is quite good with keeping things under wraps, and I won't be surprised if this new redesign isn't a thing. I won't be surprised if it is either, as times seem a bit dramatic for Apple, and maybe something eye-catching is needed. Well, we'll have to wait and see to know for certain. The iPhone 17 series will have to face the Galaxy S25 series for the title of the best flagship phone this year. The Galaxies have kept the same (more or less) design in recent years with some subtle refinements, so at least when it comes to design, it may be Apple surprising us this time.
