'Tesla's China teams will oversee India operations, with no immediate successor named, the people said. The rejigging of Tesla's top order in India comes just as it appears to edge closer to launching in the world's third-largest car market,' the report said.
Tesla to open its first showroom in Mumbai's BKC
As mentioned above, Tesla is planning to open its first showroom in India soon. Earlier this year, the US electric vehicle maker finalized a deal to open its first showroom in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex, in what is probably the highest lease rent for a commercial space.
Quoting sources from the property market, TOI then reported that Tesla will set up a showroom in a 4,000 sq ft space on the ground floor of a commercial tower in BKC, Mumbai. The company will display its car models there. The monthly rent is about Rs 900 per sq ft, which works out to around Rs 35 lakh a month. The lease is for five years.
Tesla
is also planning to open a second showroom at the Aerocity complex in Delhi. The lease deal was signed a few weeks after CEO Elon Musk met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington. Soon after, Tesla posted 13 job openings in India, showing fresh interest in entering the Indian market.
The EV maker has also started the process of hiring in the country.

Bengaluru Ferrari Owner Evades Road Tax, Made To Pay Rs 1.42 Crore
In a high-octane crackdown on tax evasion, a Ferrari owner was forced to shell out Rs 1.42 crore after Regional Transport Office officials caught the luxury supercar being used on the streets of Bengaluru without road tax being paid in Karnataka. The red Ferrari SF90 Stradale, which has a starting price of 7.5 crore, has been attracting eyeballs in the city over the past few months. On Thursday morning, officials from the Bengaluru South RTO located the Ferrari, which was registered in Maharashtra, and verified its tax status. Upon confirming that tax had not been paid, they seized the vehicle and issued a formal notice to the owner, giving time until evening to make the payment. The notice also warned of legal consequences in case of non-compliance. Acting swiftly, the owner cleared the entire dues and penalties amounting to Rs 1,41,59,041. According to officials, this is one of the largest single-vehicle tax recoveries in recent memory. The department has said that it will continue cracking down on luxury vehicles operating without valid tax payments. In February, the transport department had seized 30 luxury cars including Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs, Audis, Aston Martins and Range Rovers for tax evasion. Over 40 RTO officers were involved in the operation.

'There's a lot being said about me, most of you don't know the full story. If ...,' says Soham Parekh, the techie accused of working for multiple companies simultaneously
Soham Parekh An Indian software engineer, Soham Parekh , is at the center of controversy following allegations of moonlighting at multiple US startups simultaneously. But building is the only thing I've ever truly known, and it's what I'll keep doing," he wrote. Parekh claimed he has faced isolation and rejection from companies and peers but announced he had signed an exclusive deal as a founding engineer with a single company in the video AI space, set to launch later this month.
