'Star Wars' Actor Kenneth Colley Dies At 87
The British actor died at his home in Kent, England, after contracting Covid and developing pneumonia, according to multipleoutlets.
'Ken Colley was one of our finest character actors with a career spanning 60 years,' Colley's agent, Julian Owen, said in a statement to People on Thursday. 'Ken continually worked on stage, film and television playing a vast array of characters, from Jesus in 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' to evil and eccentric characters in Ken Russell films, and the Duke of Vienna in Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' for the BBC.'
Colley was initially admitted to a hospital after he injured his arm after suffering a fall. He then rapidly contracted COVID that developed into a pneumonia diagnosis, according to Owen.
Owen said Colley 'passed away peacefully with friends at his bedside.'
Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, mourned Colley's death.

Colley, who first kicked off his Hollywood career in 1961, most recently appeared in the 2024 film 'Dan Hawk Psychic Detective' and as a voice actor in the 2023 short film 'I Am Tree.'

Attack On London re-examines the 7/7 tube bombing 20 years later, not just looking back at the attack which killed 52 people and those responsible for it, but also the ensuing impact on both the country and its capital. But All The Sharks just might be its most elaborate to date. Building The Band is also notable as it marks the final on-screen appearance of Liam Payne, who serves as a guest judge once the bands have formed alongside former X Factor judges Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger, the latter of whom is credited with putting Liam together with his One Direction bandmates. Netflix says: 'In a music competition series like no other, 50 singers will form six bands without ever seeing each other— but who will have the vocal talent and chemistry to make it as the winning band? 'Building The Band brings together talented singers for a truly unique competition show where building the perfect band is all about chemistry. Over 30 artists announced for 'unmissable' multi-venue music festival in Glasgow
A packed line-up is coming to a multi-venue music festival in Glasgow, with more than 30 artists already announced. Tenement Trail will return on October 11, bringing a full day of live music to the city's east end and iconic venues including the Barrowland Ballroom, Saint Luke's and BAaD. Headliners Pale Waves will lead the charge, with a diverse roster of artists including Chloe Slater, Do Nothing, Gallus, and Soapbox. "My dad was born and raised in Glasgow so I have plenty of family still there so the city holds a special place in my heart. 'That's not how we were. We would never do that': Ringo has put his foot down over parts of the Beatles biopics

Ringo Starr has apparently already had a word with Sam Mendes and caused some rewriting to the upcoming Beatles' biopics. The director met his subject recently and over two days the pair worked on the scripts for the drummer's individual movie, which like the others, is due to hit cinemas in April 2028. According to the New York Times, Ringo 'offered extensive notes' to Mendes to make sure that the movie provides an accurate portrayal of his early life and his first marriage to Maureen Starkey. 'He had a writer - very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I,' says Starr. 'That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that.'' Nevertheless, both Ringo and Mendes are now said to be satisfied with the rewrite. 'He'll do what he's doing,' Starr said of the director, 'and I'll send him peace and love.' Elsewhere in the New York Times interview, the drummer, who turns 85 this coming Monday, says he still feels like he's in his 20s when he looks in the mirror. "It blows me away,' he reflects. 'I look in the mirror and I'm 24. I never got older than 24," he told the NYT, adding to himself, "But guess what? You did." There's no doubt Ringo does look good for a man in his mid 80s, but 24? Come on. Anyway, he puts it all down to a lifetime playing drums: "I love what I'm doing. When I first started... my mother would come to the gigs. She would always say, 'You know, son, I always feel you're at your happiest when you're playing your drums'. So she noticed. And I do."
