"First meeting with him (Riley), I remember I came to his office, and he was like, 'Goran, we are happy to have you, welcome to the team. Now it's time to go to war, you know what we play for?' I said, 'Yes, of course, the championship.'And he opened the drawer and showed all nine rings," Dragic recalled in an exclusive interview with Basketball Network.
It wasn't just a random flex from Riley, it was a statement about what was the mission ahead of them.
"He's like, choose one, I'm like, 'What?!' At that time, I just picked one ring, he was like, 'Okay, we are going to get you one.' You know, it never happened, but if I'm honest, I've spent the best seven years in Miami…" the lefty point guard added.
