The first and only of its kind in the Philippines, EKartRaceway boasts a multi-level indoor track. Their electric go-karts can reach speeds up to 90 kilometres per hour. However, first-timers will have speed restrictions to abide by their safety protocols. If you're looking to hit that top speed, you'll have to come back with more experience.

What started as a shop that sells electric vehicles and bicycles eventually grew into an indoor go-kart circuit. The track itself has plenty of sharp turns, requiring steady handling of the karts. If you're a beginner, consider taking on the racing simulator before hitting the lanes. Alternatively, you can opt for one-on-one coaching. Once you have a few wins under your belt, you can join their monthly racing leagues for a shot at glory. City Kart Racing, Pampanga

A massive racetrack stretching 1.39 kilometres, City Kart Racing is where veteran racers go to compete. Every year since it opened in 2019, the circuit hosts the Sodi World Series and the Rotax Max Asia Challenge—drawing in some of the best go-karters in the region. Madkart, Dagupan

With a 500-metre track designed by local racers, Madkart's circuit features 15 corners that include hairpins, double apex turns, 90-degree corners, and chicanes, among others. Coupled with their high-performance electric go-karts, it's a fitting gateway into the sport while offering enough thrill for experienced drivers.

Walsall Council provides update on future of former Bloxwich Hospital

The deputy leader of Walsall Council has provided an update following speculation about the future of the former Bloxwich Hospital site. The premises, still owned by the Black Country NHS Trust, was last used as a psychiatric facility before its closure in February 2025. READ MORE: Nine Walsall councillors blocked from standing in 2026 elections amid Conservative branch chaos The sale of the Reeves Street site is part of an agreement that has allowed the trust to secure funding for the newly opened Older People's Inpatient Unit at Dorothy Pattison Hospital. Since its closure, social media has been flooded with unsubstantiated claims that the building will be converted into 'luxury' accommodation for 'illegals'. However the trust said it was committed to ensuring any future use for the site will 'align with the needs of the community'. Currently, the building has no existing planning permissions and no live planning applications are under assessment by the council for any alternative use. Ward member for Bloxwich West, Councillor Michael Coulson, asked for the update at full council on July 30. Deputy leader Councillor Adrian Andrew responded: 'The trust, after interventions by officers, myself and Councillor Flint, are committed to ensuring that any future use for the site aligns with the needs of our community. 'They are working closely with us now to support the disposal and deliver a scheme that meets local needs. 'Any forthcoming proposal will be subject to a planning application and associated formal statutory consultation process.' Council Andrew said he has been 'quite firm' with the chief executive of the trust about its responsibility to secure the building. He added: 'Organisations which own public property need to make sure it is secured and that they are not causing a problem to the communities they represent, otherwise it just passes the bill on. 'Whether that's to the fire service because of an arson attack, or the police, or the council because we have to start taking enforcement action. 'I've been quite firm about their responsibility as a public sector organisation to the people that we all represent.'

Pivetta's dominant outing and Merrill's clutch hit propel Padres to sixth straight win

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Nick Pivetta gave up one hit and one run in seven innings, Jackson Merrill drove in two runs, and the San Diego Padres won their sixth game in a row, 4-1 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. Pivetta (11-3) struck out five and did not give up a walk. His only blemish was a solo homer by Willson Contreras in the fifth that gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. San Diego answered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth in large part to two errors that led to three unearned runs. With Jake Cronenworth at first and one out, Jose Iglesias hit a slow grounder to third baseman Nolan Gorman, whose wide throw hit first baseman Contreras' glove and rolled away. Cronenworth went to third and scored when Contreras' throw to Gorman skipped away. Elias Díaz singled in Iglesias and four batters later, Merrill hit a two-out single up the middle against Matt Svanson. Robert Suarez notched his major league-best 31st save with a scoreless ninth. Cardinals starter Matthew Liberatore (6-9) pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and four runs (one earned). Key moment Padres reliever Mason Miller, acquired at the trade deadline on Thursday from the Athletics, trotted in from the bullpen in the eighth inning to roaring applause from the soldout Petco Park crowd for his first appearance with San Diego. Miller got Yohel Pozo to ground into a double play with one out and runners at the corners to get out of the inning unscathed. Key stat The Cardinals have lost five of their last six games. In those five loses, St. Louis has scored a combined four runs. Up next The Cardinals' RHP Michael McGreevy (2-2, 4.91 ERA) takes the hill in game two of the series Saturday night versus Padres' RHP Randy Vásquez (3-4, 3.65). ___ AP MLB: Richard J.
