Amitabh Bachchan Pens A Note As Abhishek Bachchan Wins Praise For New Film: 'Mountains Of Pride...'
Amitabh Bachchan expresses pride as Abhishek Bachchan earns praise for Kaalidhar Laapata.
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is beaming with pride as his son, Abhishek Bachchan, garners appreciation for his performance in the ZEE5 film Kaalidhar Laapata. The legendary actor took to social media to express how deeply touched he was by the praise coming Abhishek's way, especially from filmmaker Tinnu Anand.
Sharing a message from the director, Amitabh wrote, 'When someone of the eminence of dear friend and my Director, Tinnu Anand sends this, it says more than just words .. my gratitude (folded hands emoji). Sirjee, As I don't have Abhishek's number could you pls congratulate him from my side. He is absolutely brilliant in Kaalidhar Lapata. Warmth."
He also wrote, 'With the mountains of praise coming for Abhishek and the film Kaalidhar Laapata .. mountains of pride fill my heart and mind for my SON .."
Beyond social media, Big B also turned to his blog to reflect on the emotional power of family and the pitfalls of technology. In a heartfelt entry, he wrote, 'When your children are about and by your side, the World can be conquered .. When your technology is not by your side, your entire World can be destroyed .. Thank you Mr Technology – you just destroyed my dependence on you."
It's not the first time Amitabh has openly celebrated Abhishek's achievements. He often praises him on social media. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Abhishek admitted it feels strange. 'It's embarrassing. But I also realise he's 83, and this is his way of showing love. It wasn't always like this," Abhishek said.
News18 Showsha gave Kaalidhar Laapata 2.5 stars. An excerpt from the review read, 'While Abhishek delivers a controlled and honest performance, his character is disappointingly underwritten. Kaalidhar's emotional evolution is barely explored. He starts lost and ends… slightly less lost, but the transformation lacks complexity or weight. The bond between KD and Ballu, though charming on the surface, doesn't build with the emotional texture it deserves."

Bollywood Rolls-Royces rack up huge fines in Bengaluru, but here's the twist: Report
Bengaluru transport authorities have shed a spotlight on two luxury Rolls-Royce vehicles — one formerly owned by Amitabh Bachchan and the other by Aamir Khan — thanks to a whopping ₹38 lakh in fines slapped on them in the city. But contrary to the buzz, neither celebrity currently owns these high-end cars, a report by the Mint stated. The current owner, Yusuf Sharif, failed to update registration documents, causing the fines for operating on non-Karnataka plates.(@dir_ed) Why were these luxury cars fined? What appeared to be a case of Bollywood glitz running afoul of the law soon turned out to be a paperwork mess. The two Rolls-Royce cars, initially registered in the names of the film industry superstars, were each hit with massive fines: over ₹18 lakh for one and ₹20 lakh for the other. Meet the real owner: 'KGF Babu' Both prized vehicles now belong to Yusuf Sharif, a Bengaluru-based businessman and political figure popularly known as 'KGF Babu,' in tribute to his roots in the famous mining town of Kolar Gold Fields. The catch? Although Sharif purchased the Phantom from Amitabh Bachchan and the Ghost from Aamir Khan years ago, he never updated the official registration documents, so the cars remained linked to their celebrity sellers. When he contested the 2021 Karnataka Legislative Council elections, Sharif disclosed that his family's assets exceeded ₹1,744 crore. Why did the authorities step in? Phantom (Big B's former car has been on Bengaluru streets since 2021, while Ghost (Khan's former car), was relocated to the city in 2023. Both vehicles continued to use Maharashtra registration plates, drawing the attention of Bengaluru's transport authorities. READ | BJP MLA Byrathi Basavaraj interrogated once more in Bengaluru rowdy's murder case: Report Authorities discovered that the cars had overstayed the legal one-year period on non-Karnataka plates, and both vehicles were operated in Karnataka for over a year without paying the required local road tax. Although the Phantom had previously escaped penalties for non-payment of state tax in 2021 due to being new to the city, the extended stays triggered significant fines this time around. In this light, Phantom, the Rolls-Royce that had belonged to Amitabh Bachchan, was fined ₹18.53 lakh, while Ghost (Aamir Khan's former car), was fined ₹19.73 lakh.
