Band get Glasgow TRNSMT crowd Scottish traditional dancing
Saturday's lineup was full to the brim of Celtic guitar-powered rock, and the crowd were eager to hear their favourite riffs. It's no wonder, then, that Falkirk's Brogeal drew an impressive crowd to the King Tut's Stage. Having recently announced their debut album, Tuesday Paper Club, set for release in October, they were in high spirits. They sauntered on stage with a swagger and a 'cheers troops' to the screams from the crowd. It's pure Pogues-esque brilliance - accordions the lot. 'How you doing, TRNSMT, are you ready for a wee dance?' they ask before firing into a stramash of trad riffs. 'This is our second year here', they beam as they declare they've 'levelled up'. You'll Be Mine is given the foreword that the Scottish Dance, the Pogo, can be performed to it. The Saturday crowd didn't need another excuse as variations of Gay Gordons and other traditional dances erupted during the tune. I'd previously seen Brogeal at Glasgow's McChuills - a terrific, sweaty little venue - and was delighted to see them prove themselves instantly on a much bigger stage. New tunes from the upcoming album were played, one introduced as 'being about getting p**d', to cheers from the tipsy crowd. Vicar Street Days, a new release, despite introducing a banjo, could fit into a Stone Roses album. Friday On My Mind is a pure summer anthem, after which the band announce 'Time for some good old f****n rock and roll!' Girl From New York City inspires a 'Brogeal are on fire' chant from the crowd, as the sun sizzles them in 31-degree heat. Finishing off their set with a whistle-led instrumental, Brogeal cement themselves as a band that has proven themselves on the pub stage, and now at Scotland's biggest festival. You just couldn't help but smile as people linked arms and enjoyed twirling around to Falkirk's fierce folk rockers.

It came after the Scottish presenter's year-round hour-long show was reduced to just 30 weeks of 30-minute slots. Lorraine — who has worked for ITV since 1984, including GMTV with Eamonn Holmes — flew to Norway last month for the secret project. A source said: 'Channel 4 were delighted to have Lorraine on board. It was exciting for Lorraine to do something different and be on location again. "She's survived in this business a long time and she's a master at rolling with the punches.' The switch by Lorraine, 65, comes after the job of Head of Lorraine was axed, with her two producers now reporting to This Morning bosses. The source added: 'This latest shake-up and slimming-down of Lorraine's dedicated team casts further doubt on the long-term future of the show after her contract finishes next year. "She's opening her eyes up to the many options available to her.' A disappointed Lorraine show source said: 'Amid these changes the team have been gutted. Lorraine Kelly struggles to keep straight face in most bizarre interview to date "They can't understand why ITV would want to dismantle such a successful rating-busting programme. It's a great shame.' Lorraine, who is a regular guest on Channel 4's comedy panel show The Last Leg, revealed last month that she relishes broadening her horizons. I've always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that, you can be unleashed Lorraine Kelly Speaking to chef Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast, she said: 'Forty years in TV last year was incredible. I got a Bafta. 'Here's a Bafta for being alive'. 'I thought, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not done yet'. 'I think now I can be a lot cheekier. 'I've always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that, you can be unleashed. I quite like that.' Channel 4 declined to comment. ITV said: 'We have always said that from January 2026, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be three editorially distinct shows which will be produced by one team. 'These changes are not about the performance of the shows or the staff. We can assure our viewers that their favourite daytime shows will remain familiar to them on screen.' 5 Lorraine with Eamonn Holmes on GMTV Credit: Rex Features

It's typical Scottish summer school holiday weather we myself, my sister and my nephews (eight and five) ventured out to the Lost Kingdom. Located at the Cuningar Woodland Loop in walk in Rutherglen once again, this travelling troupe of animatronic dinosaurs are back in Glasgow and ready to thrill kids and bog kids alike. The trail features over 50 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, spanning the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods and the website advises that the walk might take about two hours - not ideal in the driving rain and wind but this is Scotland. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad On arrival to the walk we are greeted with the rockstar of dinosaurs , the T-Rex - and we saw a lot more of him around the walk. Each of the over 50 life-sized dinosaurs moves, whether it's their eyes, tails, arms or mouths, and the roaring sound effects help set the scene that we're on an adventure walk to find out all we can about these creatures. While the movements and noises are fun for the kids, there's also an educational element as each dinosaur has its own information panel and, from these, we learned all about lesser known species such as the Yunnanosaurus, Lufengosaurus and Tsintaosauraus including where in the world they'd come from. Animatronic dinosaurs at Glasgow's Lost Kingdom | Rosalind Erskine I, with the help of my nephews and sister, were seeking my favourite dinosaur, the diplodocus but we came across so many other unknown dinosaurs such as a furry one and a heavily armoured, crocodile-like creature. Despite the weather we did end up spending a good hour and a half on the walk, before heading to the dinosaur themed welcome area, where some food vans serving hot food, teas and coffee were. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad There was also a gift shop and educational marquee. Satisfied with our hot drinks and doughnuts, but still no further forward on spying a diplodocus, we headed back to the car. The Lost Kingdom is an ideal morning or afternoon out for kids during the summer holidays, and adults will find it educational too. Samuel, my oldest nephew said: ' There were plenty of dinosaurs, some were cute and one T-Rex was 54 feet tall. I enjoyed it, five stars…although I was fuming that there was no diplodocus.' While Christopher, his younger brother added: 'The dinosaurs were really great.'
