One injured, lane closed in I-57 rollover crash in Douglas Co.
At approximately 3:50 p.m., State Police Troop 7 responded to I-57 southbound milepost 213 in Douglas County for the report of a single unit rollover traffic crash with injuries. At this time, the minor injuries sustained are unknown.
One airlifted in I-57 rollover crash in Shelby Co.
At 4:24 p.m., State Police said Troop 7, as well as local EMS and police were on scene. At the location of the crash, the right lane is currently closed, and traffic is moving slowly through the area in the left lane.
State Police is asking drivers to slow down and be aware of slow or stopped vehicles in the area of the crash. An update will be provided by State Police when the crash scene is cleared.
There is no further information at this time.

What we know Mario Santoyo, of Chicago, is charged with possessing a dangerous weapon in a federal facility with intent to use it in the commission of a crime, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois. If convicted, he faces up to five years in federal prison. Santoyo made his initial court appearance Friday afternoon and was ordered to remain in federal custody, prosecutors said. The backstory According to prosecutors, Santoyo entered the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and asked to speak with the FBI, claiming that "gangsters" or "gangbangers" were trying to kill him. When a court security officer informed him that the FBI did not have an office in the building and that he could not remain there without other business, Santoyo allegedly pulled out a knife, held it to his throat and threatened to harm himself. Despite repeated commands from law enforcement to drop the weapon, Santoyo refused. He remained in the building's lobby throughout the day with the knife pressed to his throat and a dark bag in his possession, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Authorities evacuated the courthouse during the standoff, which disrupted criminal and civil trials, hearings and other proceedings throughout the day. No injuries were reported. Southbound I-57 closed after fatal crash in County Club Hills
The southbound lanes of Interstate 57 are closed after a person was fatally hit by a vehicle early Sunday morning in the south suburbs. The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. near Vollmer Road in Country Club Hills. A preliminary investigation by Illinois State Police indicated a crash occurred, and an occupant from one of the vehicles exited their car and was struck by a passing vehicle. One person was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim was not released. Another person was taken to an area hospital. I-57 southbound is closed at I-80. The I-80 ramp to I-57 southbound is also closed. Investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
