Salad joint launches new Mediterranean, Japanese-inspired signature bowls
First off is Yasou!, a former limited-edition item that's now a permanent signature. This Mediterranean-inspired mix of romaine, rocket, sun-dried tomatoes, grapes, candied walnuts, shaved parmesan, and feta is tossed in a Dijon balsamic vinaigrette.
The other one is Kokoro, which is inspired by the Japanese word for heart. It is a warm grain bowl featuring quinoa, pan-seared salmon, soft-boiled egg, veggies, and furikake, all tied together with a sesame lime dressing.
For a sweet yet wholesome treat, the new Choco Loco blends banana, oats, chocolate, peanut butter, and soy milk into a creamy, gluten-free smoothie fit for post-workout recovery or a midday boost.
These signature bowls and smoothie are now available for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery within Metro Manila.

US CDC considers travel notice for China as chikungunya cases rise — report
A tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is photographed through a 20x optical microscope, in Moncada, Spain July 19, 2024. The Chikungunya virus is transmitted to humans by the bites of infected female mosquitoes, most commonly Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. REUTERS/ Eva Manez/File photo The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning to issue a travel notice for China as mosquito-borne chikungunya infections rise in the country, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday. "CDC is aware of the reported chikungunya outbreak in Guangdong Province in China and is currently assessing the size and extent of the outbreak," a CDC spokesperson told Bloomberg News. The U.S. CDC did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. According to the Global Times newspaper, South China's Guangdong Province reported a total of 4,824 chikungunya cases as of July 26. Chikungunya, which is spread primarily by Aedes mosquito species and has no specific treatment, can cause rapid and large outbreaks. As the mosquitoes bite in the daytime, prevention is key, through the use of insect repellent and long-sleeved clothing. Earlier this month, the World Health Organization issued an urgent call for action to prevent a repeat of the 2004-2005 epidemic of chikungunya as new outbreaks linked to the Indian Ocean region spread to Europe and other continents. The current surge began in early 2025, with major outbreaks in the same Indian Ocean islands which were previously hit, including La Reunion, Mayotte and Mauritius. — Reuters

Marcos touts ‘zero-balance billing' at DOH hospitals
Patients no longer have to settle their balance when seeking treatment at Department of Health (DOH) hospitals, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said Monday. In his fourth State of the Nation Address, Marcos announced that the government will cover all expenses incurred by Filipinos at DOH hospitals. 'Itinuloy na po natin ang zero-balance billing. Libre po. Ibig sabihin, ang serbisyo sa basic accommodation sa ating mga DOH hospital, wala nang babayaran ang pasyente dahil bayad na ang bill ninyo,' he said. 'Uulitin ko, wala nang kailangan bayaran ang pasyente basta sa DOH hospital dahil bayad na po ang bill ninyo,' he added. (We will continue zero-balance billing. It's free. This means, for the services in the basic accommodation in our DOH hospitals, no payment is necessary because your bills have already been paid. I repeat, a patient will no longer have to make payments if they're in a DOH hospital because your bill will have already been paid.) Earlier, the President said that he aspired to ease the burden of Filipino patients when it comes to out-of-pocket medical expenses. Marcos said he had already been working with the Department of Health in terms of budget and overall improvements in the Philippine healthcare system. — BM, GMA Integrated News
