IT'S a new era at Rangers - and it will all begin for Russell Martin with the white knuckle ride which is the Champions League qualifiers.
And for the former MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton boss, who was appointed earlier this month, that means a tough opener against Panathinaikos.

The first leg will be at Ibrox with Gers facing a trip to Greece for the second leg.
Greek giants Panathinaikos were perhaps the toughest of the three sides Rangers could have faced.
They haven't met since Walter Smith's side squeezed past the Greeks at the last 16 phase as they went on to book their spot in the Uefa Cup final in Manchester.
And a tough visit to Athens so early in Martin's tenure will be a major challenge right off the bat.
Rangers' sizeable Uefa five-year coefficient gives them seeding at both this stage and the third round if they can make it that far - although they WON'T be protected at the playoff round.
Scotland's dropping co-efficient means BOTH halves of the Old Firm have to pre-qualify to make it into the reshaped Champions League this season.
Celtic enter at the play-off round stage in the 'Champions path' - as they look to improve on their agonising knockout round playoff defeat to Bayern Munich.
Even if they don't make it all the way to the Champions League, victory in their opening tie will be crucial for Rangers.
As it stands they have NO guarantee of group stage football in Europe this season.

Champions League winning captain Jorge Costa dies at training centre
Jorge Costa, the former Porto captain and current director of professional football, died on Tuesday at the age of 53 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the club's training centre. The former defender made 383 appearances for Porto and earned 50 caps for Portugal, helping the national side reach the Euro 2000 semi-finals. As captain, Costa famously led Porto to UEFA Cup glory in 2003 and a Champions League triumph in 2004 under manager Jose Mourinho. He was one of only six players to win five consecutive Portuguese league championships with Porto during his illustrious career. Tributes poured in from across the football world, including from Jose Mourinho, UEFA president Aleksandar Ceferin, and Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro.

Rangers team to face Viktoria Plzen named as Russell Martin makes changes
New signing Oliver Antman has gone straight into the Rangers side to face Viktoria Plzen as Russell Martin has rung the changes for the Champions League clash at Ibrox. Martin was furious with his side after their 1-1 draw at Motherwell in the opening Premiership game on Saturday and said that he would 'have to work out quickly who really wants to listen and who will really fight and run'. He said too many went into 'self-preservation mode' and had to 'drop their ego'. The manager later said his comments came 'from a place of love' but made it clear he would not accept players who didn't give their all, and those who reacted badly to criticism wouldn't have a place in his squad. That prompted interest in his starting line-up for the test against Viktoria Plzen and Martin has made changes. New signing Oliver Antman goes straight into the starting line-up just a day after joining the club, and there is also a place for Lyall Cameron in a surprising side that sees captain James Tavernier and midfielder Nicolas Raskin dropped to the bench. Jack Butland starts in goal behind a back four of Jefte, John Souttar, Nasser Djiga and Max Aarons. Joe Rothwell anchors the midfield, with Mohamed Diomande and Cameron in the heart of the side. Antman and Djeidi Gassama are on the wings, either side of Cyriel Dessers. Rangers saw off Panathinaikos to reach this stage and the winners will go on to face RB Salzburg or Club Brugge in the play-off round, with the prize for the winner being a place in the lucrative League Phase.
