Pirates of the Caribbean star says there have "been talks" about reuniting the original cast for another movie: "We'll have to see where it lands"

It's been eight years since Orlando Bloom last played blacksmith-turned-sea captain Will Turner in Disney's swashbuckling series Pirates of the Caribbean. But there's a real chance he'll reprise in the future, the actor recently revealed -- and he wouldn't be the only one returning...
While promoting his new Prime Video movie Deep Cover, Bloom appeared on British talk show This Morning, where he was asked by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley whether or not we'd ever see himself, Keira Knightley (who plays Will's partner Elizabeth Swann), and Johnny Depp (as Jack Sparrow) onscreen together again.
"There's been all kinds of things. Who knows? There's been talk. I can't say anything at the moment, because I really don't know. They're definitely... I think they're trying to work out what it would all look like. I, personally, think it would be great to get the band back together. That would be great. But there are always different ideas, so we'll see where it lands."
Bloom has appeared in four of the five Pirates of the Caribbean films so far, though his screentime has varied across them. He was one of the three main protagonists in The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and At World's End, before he had a cameo role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2017. He was absent completely from 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Last we heard, there was a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie and a female-led spin-off starring Margot Robbie in the works, though updates on the latter project have been scarce -- and the Barbie actor actually claimed back in 2022 that it had been scrapped.
"It's two different movies," producer Jerry Bruckheimer later told Entertainment Weekly in 2024. "We hope to get 'em both made, and I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too."

Jeremy Allen White could barely stand it. White, star of the hit FX series 'The Bear,' braced himself for the day the 'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere' trailer came out. 'Getting that out, it was so much pressure,' said White to Jimmy Fallon on the June 26 'Tonight Show.' 'You're playing a real person — never mind Bruce Springsteen — and I was really touched (when) the trailer came out. I had more texts than when I blacked out and won that Golden Globe (for 'The Bear').' White won Best Actor in a comedy series in 2023, and part of his acceptance speech was bleeped out due to profanity. The trailer for 'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,' which features White as Springsteen singing 'Born to Run' on a concert stage, was released on June 18. 'I didn't realize trailers were that big of a thing but, yeah, I'm breathing easy,' White said. 'People are really nice about the trailer and I'm excited.' 'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,' from Disney's 20th Century Studios, is written and directed by Scott Cooper ('Crazy Heart,' 'Hostiles'). The film also features Jeremy Strong ('Succession') as Springsteen manager Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen's father, Douglas; and Odessa Young as love interest, Faye. The film, based on the book 'Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska' by musician Warren Zanes, is scheduled to be released in theaters Friday, Oct. 24. Location filming began in New Jersey Oct. 28, 2024, at the Montclair Library's Bellevue Avenue branch. Shoots took place in Asbury Park (including the Stone Pony and Frank's Deli), Freehold, Rahway, Bayonne, Denville, Rockaway and the Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford for the 'Born to Run' concert scene. White does his own singing in the film. The Boss was often on the set of filming in New Jersey. The fourth seasons of 'The Bear,' which airs of Hulu, was released June 25. Three years after Johnny Depp faced off with ex-wife Amber Heard, 39, in a U.S. court over charges of defamation in a nasty trial that dredged up ugly domestic abuse allegations on both sides, the 62-year-old wants to make one thing clear. 'I have no regrets about anything,' the Pirates of the Caribbean actor told the U.K.'s Sunday Times. 'Because, truly, what can we do about last week's dinner? Not a f**king thing.' The actor, who ultimately settled with his ex, acknowledged that he faced a 'boycott' in Hollywood as a result of the tawdry allegations (including Amber's claim he conducted a 'cavity search' of her while looking for drugs). Still, Depp said he was willing to air his dirty laundry to stop what he calls lies. 'Look, it had gone far enough,' he told the paper. 'I knew I'd have to semi-eviscerate myself.
