Hijacked vehicle recovered within a day in Adams Mission
A HIJACKED vehicle was recovered by Blue Security's tactical officers in the Adams Mission area on June 18.
The Isuzu bakkie, which was reported hijacked earlier that day, prompted the driver's vehicle tracking company to send an urgent request for assistance from Blue Security.

Idan Smollan, Blue Security community manager, said, 'According to the driver, he was forced to pull over when suspects in a maroon Suzuki seven-seater pointed firearms at him. Two suspects then exited their vehicle and entered the Isuzu, forcing the driver to sit in the middle seat while one of the suspects drove off with the vehicle. The hijackers parked the bakkie on a nearby gravel road, where they offloaded stock from the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver was not physically harmed. The suspects fled the scene in the maroon Suzuki, taking the driver's cellphone but leaving the vehicle key behind.'
With the tracking information provided, the vehicle was located and secured.
Members of the tracking company arrived shortly after, and the vehicle was handed over to KwaMakhutha SAPS for further investigation.
'This incident underscores the importance of co-ordinated action between private security and tracking services in quickly recovering hijacked vehicles and ensuring the safety of victims,' said Smollan.

Residents unite against unlawful evictions in Alexandra
As tensions between an anti-illegal immigration group and residents of Alexandra in Ext 9 escalate, community members gathered on June 28 to tackle the issue of illegal evictions in their area. Residents have endured weeks of torment by the group, constantly being threatened to pack their belongings and leave their homes. On June 18, the situation escalated when the group began burning residents' belongings. One of the houses they ransacked lies empty, with broken doors. 'We do not even have a place to sleep. We are just trying to survive. Everything we had inside the house was burned. I don't have my ID. We don't have anything. Children's clothes were burnt,' said Lucky Moima, whose mother was accused of being a foreign national from Lesotho. Fourteen tenants occupying rooms on their property were forcefully removed. Despite the violence, Moima remains defiant. 'I am fighting for what is mine. I will stand my ground and even if they kill me, they will do so knowing that I am not an illegal immigrant.' The same day, another resident, Joseph Modiba, faced similar intimidation. He recounted how the group arrived at his home unannounced. 'They said they were there to evict my children and me. I do not know those people. I am a South African. We tried hard to organise a meeting with some of the well-known illegal immigration groups… But they said they do not know who sent the men to my house because they do not fight with South African citizens.' ActionSA Ward 105 chairperson Tumelo Shai condemned the group, noting that if they were true community leaders as they claim, they would protect residents. 'Isn't that what they are saying, that they are protecting us and are fighting for us to have houses. But how can they fight for us to have houses if they are the ones who oppress us?' Illegal advert contractors caught red-handed and stopped by JMPD
An illegal signage was being erected when Ward 94 Councillor David Foley stepped in to stop the process. The sign was being installed near the Cedar Road and Witkoppen intersection on June 28, but Foley discovered that the contractors lacked the necessary approval paperwork after he asked the contractors. That is when Foley called for assistance from the Johannesburg Metro Police Department officers (JMPD) from the bylaw management unit who arrived at the scene and confirmed that the sign's installation was unauthorized. 'Illegal signage will not be tolerated in Ward 94,' said Foley, while adding that he is committed to upholding the area's regulations.
