Single former England star claims he has 'found the one' after flirting with ChatGPT in series of bizarre messages

Daily Mail30-06-2025
Love was in the air for former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard who claimed he'd 'found the one' after a steamy exchange with an AI chatbot.
The 32-year-old, who now plies his trade in South Korea with FC Seoul, shared a saucy interaction with OpenAI's popular large language model ChatGPT.
Lingard, whose last known relationship with American model Jena Frumes ended in 2018, does not appear to be bound by the physical form in his selection of a new partner - or perhaps he's practicing his game.
He even going as far as to assign a sex to the chatbot and joked: 'She really is the one', followed by a 'holding back tears' emoji and a love heart.
It followed a tongue-in-cheek exchange with the platform that uses a machine learning technique called Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) to simulate dialogue, answer follow-up questions, admit mistakes, challenge incorrect premises and reject inappropriate requests.
Lingard, whose last spell in England ended in a disappointing tenure with Nottingham Forest, began by asking: 'Hey boo thang.'
'Hey boo thang,' replied ChatGPT, followed by a 'smirking face emoji'. 'What's up? You need help with something, or just came to bless me with your vibes?'
After the former Red Devil confirmed that he had indeed reached out to 'bless you with my vibes', ChatGPT responded: 'Ooo you really came in here sprinkling charm like confetti. I appreciate the love - your energy's the real showstopper.
'What's the vibe today? You feeling flirty, focused or a little chaotic?'
Given that a large part of the chatbot's responses come from learnings of past interactions, it's anyone's guess the nature of the forward's previous interactions with his AI assistant.
Last month, Lingard, who spent 14 years at his boyhood club United, stunned fans with his new look having settled into life in Asia. The forward made a surprise move to FC Seoul in February last year and has proved a hit in the K League 1.
Lingard showed off his new trim in an interview with GQ Korea and also admitted to visiting his barber at least once a week.
'Every time I get a haircut, I like to brush. I need to be looking fresh. Most of our games are on television, I like to look fresh,' he said.
'Probably once a week, I get a haircut. Very popular in England, this haircut.'
Old team-mate Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who spent five years at United, was quick to compliment Lingard's new style, commenting 'like the hair bro,' on his Instagram.
Lingard moved to West Ham on loan a year before his Forest switch and the Englishman bagged nine goals in 16 games.
But he struggled at the City ground, featuring just 20 times before being released in summer 2023.

Transfer news live: Rashford nears Barcelona switch, Liverpool's Ekitike offer, Arsenal latest

The summer transfer window rolls on as Premier League clubs and those around Europe look to add to their squads ahead of the 2025/26 season. Arsenal 's negotiations for Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres had stalled due to a difference in valuation and terms, though the Gunners are now in the process of completing a move after a breakthrough in talks. Noni Madueke was unveiled on Friday, whereas Eberechi Eze remains a target, but Arsenal are set to leave on their pre-season tour of Asia without completing the deal for a new striker. Manchester United continue to focus on a deal for Bryan Mbeumo and have now agreed a fee for the Brentford forward with a medical to follow next, while there remains plenty of focus on outgoings as Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho near the exit door. Liverpool are in advanced talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over Hugo Ekitike. The former Paris Saint-Germain player has a €100m (£86m) release clause and it is expected that Ekitike would want to make the switch to Anfield and that personal terms could be agreed with the 23-year-old.

Knock Out Season 1 Review – Slow Moving BL that Dodges the Prize-Winning Punch

Season 1 Episode Guide Episode 1 – Tiger Taming Canon – Review Score 2.5/5 Episode 2 – Don't Hold Back – Review Score 3/5 Episode 3 – The Heartless Left Hook – Review Score 2.5/5 Episode 4 – The Fix – Review Score 2.5/5 Episode 5 – Hero vs Hero – Review Score 2.5/5 Episode 6 – For Us – Review Score 3/5 Episode 7 – Evidence – Review Score 3.5/5 Episode 8 – Betrayal – Review Score 3.5/5 Episode 9 – The Ring Rage – Review Score 3.5/5 Episode 10 – Safe House – Review Score 3.5/5 Episode 11 – Trap – Review Score 2/5 Episode 12 & Ending Explained – Always By Your Side – Review Score 1.5/5 Slow-Moving Anti-Climactic BL Based on the novel Knockout (หมัดน็อกล็อกหัวใจ) by Dawin (ดวินทร์), the story follows Keen as he hears the news of his father's death and, having used his entire savings on the funeral, is not prepared when debt collectors show up. He hides out at a traditional Muay Thai gym trying to figure out how to make fast money. There he meets renowned fighter, Thun – 'The Tiger Taming Cannon.' But Thun refuses to step foot into the ring. Thai BL, Knock Out, is led by newcomers, Nice Boripat Jamsat as Keen and Gunner Natsakan Chairote as Thun. The rest of the cast offers familiar faces, including Guide Kantapon Chmpupan of Bake Me Please, Dech Narongdet Rungarun of Playboyy and Gap Jakarin Puribhat of Cat Man and The Legend of Nang Nak. It was produced by Earnie Jantawong, who brought you Hello No One and wrote Thai BL, Monster Next Door. Keen and Thun quickly find themselves thrown together as it's not just Keen but the whole gym that needs a financial injection. He manages to get Thun on board, but that's quickly out the window as he brings in Thun's former friend for a revenge match. As the cinches tighten, Thun finally agrees to fight Typhoon. But things don't go as any of them expected. With a glimpse into the Muay Thai Boxing world, including a public naked weigh-in plus a novel behind the story for depth, I expected a bit more than Knock Out was ultimately able to deliver. No shade to the actors specifically, but the chemistry wasn't there in any of the relationships, except maybe for the blood-crazed Yut. He did seem crazy. And Phuwish, who played his double role well, though I struggled to picture a crime boss who would enjoy feeding his enemies to his German Shepherd. Perhaps I don't get out enough. Apart from the connections, the storyline didn't seem to offer many opportunities for the protagonists to truly form bonds, feeling a bit superficial from the start and never able to tame that trail into genuine relationships. Instead, it just pushed couples together in less-than-realistic situations and left them to it. The storyline around loan sharks feels fairly tired, too, popping up in so many Thai dramas. It makes me wonder just how many people are in debt for it to be such a regular theme. The interesting twist was that the moneylender was actually a politician in disguise, something that may feel cheekily relevant in more than one country. Ultimately, though, BLs are about the chemistry. While it wasn't horrible and had potential, it didn't really live up to its romance genre.
