Fire Station: Artist in Residence on Wednesday opened 'Printed Nostalgia', a compelling group exhibition featuring 99 Qatar-based and international artists exploring themes of memory, identity, and nostalgia through printed works.
The exhibition will run until September 1, 2025, at Gallery 4 in the Fire Station.
The exhibition showcases diverse artistic interpretations of architecture, culture, migration, and everyday life through works that blend digital illustration, photography, painting, collage, and written word.
Featured artists include Abdulla Al Obaidly, Agustina Mucci, Ahmed SharafAldeen, Alreem K. Alemadi, Chafic Tony Najem, Federico Lepe, Jo-Anne Malan, Layan Waleed, Mai Eraky, Mohamed Louanjli, Mubarak Al Thani, Omar Alsarayra, and Sakna Hassan, representing diverse cultural perspectives from around the world.
Co-curated by Saida Alkhulaifi and Fatima Alzaini, 'Printed Nostalgia' was selected from 322 submissions received through an international open call. The exhibition includes a dedicated reflective space designed to encourage visitors to engage with their own experiences of nostalgia and remembrance.
The exhibition is open to the general public from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 7pm, and Friday from 1:30pm to 7pm.

The short film features a conversation between Beckham and a hotelier in Qatar, during which Beckham shares his knowledge of some of his favourite destinations across the country. These include Souq Waqif, an iconic traditional market known for its vibrant alleyways, Katara Cultural Village, a hub of heritage, art, and entertainment, and the breathtaking Inland Sea, a natural wonder where desert dunes meet the sea. MoI participates in Basel Tattoo Military Festival

Tribune News Network Basel, Switzerland The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Police Academy, is participating in the Basel Tattoo Military Music Festival, in Basel, Switzerland, from July 11 to 19, 2025. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Major-General Dr. Abdullah Yousef Al Mal, legal advisor to the Minister of Interior and general supervisor of the Police Academy, and Colonel Fahad Saeed Al Subaie, deputy president of the Academy and director of the Police College. The Academy's military parade team presented a distinguished display during the festival's opening ceremony, combining high discipline with silent marching movements to the rhythms of military music. This demonstrated the level of training and competence of the Academy's members. Through this participation, the Police Academy seeks to present an honourable image in international forums and emphasise that discipline and proper military conduct are fundamental pillars in the training of security personnel, a point demonstrated and emphasised by the participants during the opening ceremony.
