PSG vs Bayern Munich odds, prediction: French club favoured in meeting of European powers
Advertisement
PSG have looked excellent for much of the tournament thus far bar a shock defeat at the hands of Botafogo. They have managed 10 goals without reply in their other three matches, most recently vanquishing Lionel Messi et al with a resounding 4-0 win over Inter Miami in the round of 16. Bayern have also won three and lost one so far, opening the tournament with an infamous 10-0 demolition of Auckland City in Ohio.
There are plenty of good omens for Bayern despite the immense quality of their opponents. They have won their last four games against PSG without conceding a goal and, stretching slightly further back, have six wins in the last seven meetings. On top of this, perhaps inevitably given how they opened the tournament, no side has more goals than Bayern at the Club World Cup – 16 after just four matches. Harry Kane already has three goals to his name here and will hope to add to his tally, especially if it means another trophy. Jamal Musiala's return from injury is simply an added bonus.
PSG seem to have finally discovered the winning formula after years of recruiting big names for huge fees with little cohesion. The Champions League run was one for the ages, a series of compelling matches that culminated in the best team in Europe deservedly securing the crown. It remains to be seen whether the French side can solidify their status by triumphing on the world stage.
Time: Saturday, 5 p.m. BST (noon ET)
Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
PSG 2, Bayern 1
This one will surely be tight. Bayern's record against these opponents is enviable but, in a sense, this feels like an entirely new era for PSG. Their reputation as perennial underachievers outside of France was shattered by the 2025 Champions League heroics. Luis Enrique and his players will be unconcerned by any struggles against Bayern in the past. PSG made history last season by exorcising the demons of the past and one could see a similar story here with victory against a team that's proven to be a thorn in the side for years.

Hugh Freeze still confident Auburn football can land top-10 class despite recruiting struggles
ALEXANDER CITY — However strong Auburn football's efforts on the recruiting trail have been in recent years, it has been far from kind to Hugh Freeze and his staff in recent weeks. Since early June, the Tigers have suffered four decommitments from blue-chip recruits in their 2026 class. Despite a couple additions in that span, their now six-man class ranks no better than No. 74 nationally. Advertisement On Wednesday, during a coaches caravan event in Alexander City, Freeze admitted it's hard to "feel great" about Auburn's current standing. But he's also confident the Tigers will still sign a top-10 class during the current cycle. "If my understanding is correct, with everything we've heard, the penalties for going over the cap are not fun," Freeze said. "You have to manage that, and when you're looking at rooms in our place — like the quarterback room, or the wide receiver room, or the D-Line room — where we're not losing many players at all, on paper, and we like them, it's really hard to just go out and be free, like we were the last few years, to go and recruit kids." The past two years, Freeze and his staff have landed the No. 10 and 8 classes in the nation, respectively, based on 247Sports' composite ratings. Currently, the site has Auburn at 89th in the nation and dead last in the SEC. No other program in the league has fewer than nine commits — three more than Auburn's current total. "It's hard to feel great when you're not one of the top-ranked recruiting classes, and I think Auburn should be," Freeze said. "But I'm confident in our administration and the way that they lead, and (I) trust them immensely that we're doing things the right way. At the end of the day, that's really what we have to do, in my opinion. We can't put ourselves in jeopardy." Advertisement Adam Cole is the Auburn athletics beat writer for the Montgomery Advertiser.
