Pakistan condemns rising Islamophobia in India
Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan stated this while responding to media queries about increase in Islamophobic incidents across India. Pakistan calls upon the Government of India to uphold the rights and safety of all its citizens, regardless of faith, the spokesperson added.
'The targeting of Muslims through hate speech, discriminatory actions, and state complicity is a matter of serious concern for the international community,' Ambassador Shafqat remarked.

Around 184 hate crimes were reported across India. 106 of these were linked to the Pahalgam terror attack, with the latter serving as the triggering factor. A minimum of 316 individuals were affected, physically or otherwise; this figure is an estimate and the actual number is likely higher due to underreporting and lack of documentation, APCR pointed out. The acts had common patterns that were neither random nor isolated.

KARACHI: The Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan, the President of the Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, the President of All Karachi Industrial Alliance, the Chairman of the FPCCI Advisory Board, Mian Zahid Hussain, said that Indian PM Narendra Modi and his team is under intense mental stress after facing repeated military and diplomatic failures. Mian Zahid Hussain warned that if India launches another attack on Pakistan, the response will be so severe that the world will forget the Israel-Iran and Russia-Ukraine conflicts. He said that attempts to increase ratings without capability will cost both Modi and India dearly. He emphasized that the morale and training of Pakistan's armed forces are not only high but, according to the 2023 Global Firepower Report, Pakistan's military ranks as the ninth-largest and one of the most organized in the world. Mian Zahid Hussain added that the recent speech by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has made it clear that Pakistan is at a decisive stage in its war against terrorism, and India aims to sabotage this progress. In recent years, India has attempted two military incursions, both of which were repelled entirely by Pakistan, which proved Pakistan's military capability and caused significant international embarrassment for India. He further stated that global powers must not remain silent. If India turns South Asia into a battlefield, the consequences will be felt worldwide, affecting not only humanitarian but also economic and geopolitical aspects. South Asia houses 25 percent of the world's population, and a conflict between two nuclear powers in this region would pose an unimaginable threat to global peace. He demanded that the Kashmir dispute be resolved immediately, and violations of the Indus Waters Treaty must be stopped, as lasting peace can only be achieved through a just political solution. Pakistan assumes UNSC's Presidency for July: FO
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of July 2025, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan announced here on Tuesday. Pakistan undertakes this responsibility with a deep sense of purpose, humility and conviction, he added. 'Our approach will continue to remain anchored in the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, respect for international law, and a steadfast commitment to multilateralism,' Ambassador Khan remarked. As a country that has consistently advocated dialogue and diplomacy, Pakistan brings to the Security Council an objective, principled and balanced perspective shaped by its foreign policy, past experience at the Council and its long-standing contributions to the maintenance of international peace and security including through UN peacekeeping and peace-building efforts, the FO spokesperson highlighted. Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed will preside over the meetings on key global issues during the month of July. In preparing the Council's Programme of Work for July, Pakistan has pursued a transparent, balanced and consultative approach. We are mindful of the multiple, interlocking challenges to international peace and security across the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and other regions. The immense human cost of these crises demands a Security Council that is responsive, credible and effective. During its Presidency, Pakistan will promote substantive and action-oriented deliberations. Inclusive engagement will be ensured and constructive dialogue fostered across all agenda items. Pakistan remains committed to serving as a bridge between the Security Council and the broader UN membership, guided by the belief that maintenance of international peace and security is a shared responsibility. The Presidency will convene two high-level signature events during July: an open debate on 'Promoting International Peace and Security through Multilateralism and the Peaceful Settlement of Disputes', to be held on July 22; and a briefing on 'Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional and Sub-Regional Organizations: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)', scheduled for July 24. Both meetings will be chaired by Senator Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, who will also preside over the quarterly open debate on the Question of Palestine on 23 July 2025. Pakistan looks forward to working closely with all Council members to promote timely and united action, in line with the Council's Charter responsibilities and the expectations of the international community. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan takes on this responsibility with humility, conviction and profound commitment to the UN Charter, international law, and multilateralism. 'Our presidency comes at a time of escalating conflicts and humanitarian crises across the world. Teen boy dies,two terrorists killed in Mastung
Listen to article A 16-year-old boy lost his life and seven others sustained injuries in a terrorist attack in Mastung district, while two Indian proxy assailants were shot dead during a counter-operation carried out by security forces, a government official said on Tuesday. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the armed men targeted key government installations, including the Tehsil office, a local bank, and other administrative buildings. They opened indiscriminate fire, killing a teenage student on the spot and leaving at least seven others injured. Police said that the assailants entered the city in the morning and set government offices and two banks on fire. Security personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and Levies Force responded promptly and engaged the attackers in a counter-terror operation. An intense exchange of gunfire ensured in which two terrorists were killed, while three others sustained injuries, according to the police. Rind said that the attackers were affiliated to "Fitna al Hindustan," a term used for a network of India-backed terror activities aimed at destabilising Balochistan. Mastung Deputy Commissioner Athar Abbas Raja said that multiple gunshots and explosions were heard in the area around 11:00am, which caused widespread panic among local residents. "The immediate vicinity was placed under lockdown as security teams took control of the situation," Raja said. Government spokesperson Rind said that a full-scale operation against terrorists was under way in the area. "The forces have launched a systematic clearance operation and intelligence-based operations are continued to protect the citizens as well as arrest the terrorists and their facilitators," he added. Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) provinces have witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks in recent past. Many of those attacks are believed to be orchestrated by foreign-backed insurgent groups. In K-P, a successful operation was carried out by security forces in the Teri Mangal area of Kurram district, in which two terrorists, Hafeezur Rehman and Wajid Gul were killed. Security forces said the two slain terrorists carried head money of Rs5 million each. Sources said the two men were part of a group responsible for the killing of five teachers in Teri Mangal in 2023. The provincial government had announced bounties for Hafeezur Rehman, Wajid Gul and three others in July 2024. During the exchange of fire on Tuesday, the sources said, a local resident was injured with a gunshot wound to his leg. They added that further measures were being taken to maintain peace in the area and that operations would continue until the complete elimination of terrorists in the area. In a separate incident in Tajazai area of Lakki Marwat district, two traffic police officials were shot dead by unidentified armed assailants. The victims, identified as Israeel and Sanaullah, both residents of Long Khel, were on their way to duty at the Tajazai traffic checkpoint. K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur strongly condemned the tragic killing of two police officers and expressed profound grief over the loss of the law-enforcement personnel. "The sacrifice of these brave officers in the line of duty will not be forgotten," he stated. "The families of our martyrs will not be left alone , we stand with them in their moment of grief and will provide all necessary assistance," chief minister emphasised.
