Driver flees scene after causing major crash on Singapore's Seletar that injures three (VIDEO)
The collision involved a car, a van, a taxi and a lorry and occurred at about 10.10am in the direction of the Central Expressway (CTE), The Straits Times reported.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the accident took place near the Seletar West exit of the expressway.
A 63-year-old male taxi driver and two passengers, a 42-year-old man and woman, were injured and taken to Sengkang General Hospital.
The police and SCDF confirmed that all three victims were conscious when they were conveyed to the hospital.
A video posted on the Roads.sg Facebook page shows a black car on the road shoulder with visible damage and its bumper dislodged.
Another video clip captures a person dressed in a white shirt and white cap running along the road shoulder against the traffic flow.
The police said efforts are under way to trace the driver and that investigations are ongoing.

Police set up roadblocks, tighten security ahead of rally
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have erected a series of roadblocks and intensified security in strategic locations around the capital ahead of the planned "Turun Anwar" rally scheduled for tomorrow, which is expected to draw crowds of up to 15,000. Roadblocks were observed as early as 11pm yesterday, particularly on major highways and key access roads leading into the city centre. Subscribe to our FREE A man was forcibly pushed into a lorry container during a street altercation in Puchong on Tuesday evening (22 July), leading to a police investigation that has resulted in four arrests. The abduction occurred along Jalan Persiaran Puchong Permai during a fight in the middle of the road. Police received reports of the incident at 6:38 pm the same day, with four individuals suspected of being involved in forcibly taking the victim using a lorry. The victim was found around 10:20 pm the same day along the SS19 road in Subang Jaya with minor injuries. Swift Arrests and Evidence Recovery Police immediately arrested a 32-year-old local man at the scene who had tattoos and was suspected of being a gang member. Background checks revealed he has two previous criminal records. Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said three additional suspects, aged 18 and 19, were detained on Thursday night (24 July) around 10pm in operations conducted in Ulu Selangor and Puchong areas. During the arrests, police recovered the victim's clothing and mobile phone. All suspects have been remanded to assist with the investigation. The initial suspect was held from 23 to 26 July, and court applications have been made to extend the remand for the others. Charges Filed and Manhunt Continues Police believe the incident stems from a dispute over debt. The case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code (wrongful confinement), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966. Indonesia court jails PDIP official in bribery case
JAKARTA: An Indonesian court on Friday sentenced a senior politician from the only opposition party in parliament to 3-1/2 years in jail, in a bribery case linked to a parliamentary appointment. Prosecutors had charged Hasto Kristiyanto, secretary general of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, or PDIP, with bribing an election official with 57,530 Singapore dollars ($44,962) in exchange for a parliamentary seat for a politician he preferred. In last year's presidential election, the PDIP had backed a rival to Prabowo Subianto, who won by a landslide. Hasto was acquitted of another charge, of obstruction of justice, for helping the favoured politician to escape detention and tampering with evidence by submerging phones in water. 'It was proven legally and convincingly that the defendant provided the money ... It was proven that he gave money to a government official,' judge Sigit Herman Binaji said. However, it was not proven that Hasto had obstructed the bribery case by instructing his staff to submerge the phones in water, another judge said, adding that investigations into the matter continued. 'Praise to God that it was unproven for the obstruction of justice charge,' Hasto said at a press conference after the trial. Hasto's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether his client would appeal. The investigation implicating Hasto began five years ago, during the presidency of Prabowo's predecessor Joko Widodo, who at the time was a PDIP member. Widodo severed ties with the party after it backed different candidates in the 2024 election. Some analysts view Widodo's tacit support for Prabowo, with Widodo's son running as Prabowo's vice president, as a key factor delivering Prabowo to high office.
