The British & Irish Lions are back in action this weekend with a date against the Waratahs the next fixture on their summer itinerary.
The games are coming thick and fast now, with three matches - including their defeat to Argentina in Dublin - already under their belts.
With each passing game the tourists seem to be gelling, with two wins Down Under already in the scorebook. First up was a win over Western Force last Saturday, followed by a midweek demolition of Queensland Reds.
The results have come at a price, however, with two players already seeing their tours brought to a premature end. Tomos Williams and Elliot Daly will miss the rest of the summer programme with a hamstring injury and broken arm respectively.
Owen Farrell is the latest name to be drafted into his father Andy's squad and the Saracens man is likely to see some game-time before the three-Test series with the Wallabies. He won't be in action this weekend, however, despite Farrell Snr making 14 changes to the XV that started against the Reds.
Jac Morgan, fresh from his man-of-the-match performance in midweek, is named on the bench.
Here is everything you need to know about the match against the Waratahs.

What have the coaches said?
Waratahs' Dan McKellar: 'It's a big game. Everyone wants to play in it. Like every week, the boys all want to be involved.
'There have been some tough decisions, as always; but we are comfortable with the 23 that we have got.'
Andy Farrell: "I know there's the sad news about Elliot and the news about Owen coming is the big one, but the squad that's been picked (to play the Waratahs) is an exciting one.
"At the top of that is Tadhg (Beirne) as captain. He's honoured and delighted. It took him aback when I told him and that's exactly the type of reaction you want."

Lions select strong side for Brumbies clash as Test series comes into focus

Maro Itoje leads the side as part of a second-row partnership with Joe McCarthy and across the starting XV there are picks considered first choice, including half-backs Jamison Gibson-Park and Finn Russell. Providing X-factor on the bench are back-rower Henry Pollock and versatile playmaker Marcus Smith in an opportunity for both England stars to prove they are ready to take on the Wallabies on July 19. Our team to face the Brumbies in Canberra! 🦁#Lions2025 — British & Irish Lions (@lionsofficial) July 7, 2025 Pollock was due to start Saturday's shaky 21-10 victory over the New South Wales Waratahs but withdrew shortly before kick-off because of a tight calf, an injury that has now healed. The all-Ireland combination of Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose have been chosen in the centres and Blair Kinghorn makes his first start at full-back having joined the squad late because of his Top 14 duties with Toulouse. Tommy Freeman and James Lowe are the favourites to fill the wings against Australia in Brisbane and both are present, with Mack Hansen adding back-three cover from the bench against his former Super Rugby franchise. Ellis Genge has been the form loosehead prop on tour while on the other side of the scrum three-times Lions tourist Tadhg Furlong is given another start to develop his match-fitness at the end of a season that has been marred by calf and hamstring injuries. Dan Sheehan is named at hooker. Normally an unstoppable force, Tom Curry has yet to find his stride Down Under but he is handed the openside duties in a back row that offers an important line-out option in the shape of Ollie Chessum. Jack Conan is included at number eight and it appears as though Chessum will supply second-row cover in the event of injury to Itoje and McCarthy given flankers Josh van der Flier and Pollock are the inclusions on the bench. Ireland provide eight players to the starting XV, England five and Scotland two with no place in the 23 for Wales openside Jac Morgan. The Brumbies are the strongest team the Lions will face in Australia outside of the Tests after reaching the semi-finals of Super Rugby, where they lost 37-17 to the Chiefs on June 14. 'In 2013 the Brumbies beat the Lions in Canberra and this year they were the leading Australian team in Super Rugby – so we are fully aware of the challenge in front of us,' head coach Farrell said. 'It will also be a special occasion for Mack Hansen as he returns to his home town and gets the opportunity to play for and represent the Lions against some of his old team-mates.' Lions team: B Kinghorn (Toulouse/Scotland); T Freeman (Northampton Saints/England), G Ringrose (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), B Aki (Connacht Rugby/Ireland), J Lowe (Leinster Rugby/Ireland); F Russell (Bath Rugby/Scotland), J Gibson-Park (Leinster Rugby/Ireland); E Genge (Bristol Bears/England), D Sheehan (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), T Furlong (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), M Itoje (Saracens/England, capt), J McCarthy (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), O Chessum (Leicester Tigers/England), T Curry (Sale Sharks/England), J Conan (Leinster Rugby/Ireland). Replacements: R Kelleher (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), A Porter (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), W Stuart (Bath Rugby/England), J van der Flier (Leinster Rugby/Ireland), H Pollock (Northampton Saints/England), A Mitchell (Northampton Saints/England), M Smith (Harlequins/England), M Hansen (Connacht Rugby/Ireland).

Wayne Rooney set to become BBC Match of the Day pundit

Lineker, who presented the show from 1999 until 2025, left following the conclusion of the 2024–25 Premier League season. Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan will host Match of the Day from the start of the 2025-26 season, and a new star pundit will also feature. Wayne Rooney set to become BBC Match of the Day pundit Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is set to join the team on the BBC show as a pundit for the new season, according to reports. A source told The Sun: 'Wayne is a natural broadcaster; he is warm, witty and forensically knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. 'He still has a deep love for football and also gets on well with everyone on both sides of the camera. 'He is eminently likeable, and has impressed on his outings to date - viewers have also really taken to him, which has been clear from social media commentary. 'Wayne will be a key part of next year's World Cup coverage, which is a massive coup, and will provide some much-needed expertise on Match of the Day in the wake of Gary's departure. For Wayne Rooney, penalties were all in the practice 🎯#BBCFootball #MOTD2 — Match of the Day (@BBCMOTD) March 10, 2025 "Everyone, including Director of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski, is incredibly excited to get him on board. It's a great signing.' Rooney made over 550 appearances for Manchester United, and more than 100 for England. He will join a team that already includes names such as Alan Shearer, Micah Richards, and Alex Scott. Who are the new Match of the Day presenters? The BBC revealed earlier this year that Match of the Day will now be presented by Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. It came after Gary Lineker stepped down from presenting the show. It will mark the first time the role of lead presenter across both Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, and the latest addition to the BBC's football highlights portfolio, Match of the Day Champions League, will be shared by three presenters. Kelly is from Glasgow and is the daughter of former Scotland and Liverpool footballer Sir Kenny Dalglish. She is currently a Sky Sports presenter and also presents BBC Radio 5 Live's Tuesday night sports coverage. Mark is a veteran at the BBC, having first joined as a continuity announcer in 1996. Since 2013, the 51-year-old has been a regular host of Match of the Day 2, but has also hosted Sky Sports' live coverage of the Carabao Cup. He has also worked in the NFL, cricket, rugby league and golf, and fronted the BBC's coverage of the recent Olympic Games in Paris. Former gymnast Gabby Logan is the daughter of Welsh footballer Terry Yorath. Recommended reading: She first joined Sky Sports in 1996 before going to work at ITV, before leaving to present Inside Sport at the BBC, which she joined in 2007. Gabby has previously presented Match of the Day in Gary's absence on various occasions and also hosted the BBC's coverage of the Women's Euros. Many will also know her from her role as co-presenter of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
