Malibu Barbie: Margot Robbie spotted on photoshoot set

Perth Now23-05-2025
Margot Robbie has been spotted on the set of a Malibu photoshoot after lying low in the showbiz world since early last year when she became a mum for the first time.
The 34-year-old actress walked with confidence down a street in a chic tweed outfit before climbing into a classic, bright red Lincoln Continental convertible.
Robbie, who flashed her abdomen in the midriff-baring Chanel skirt set, later changed into red bathers for a second look in the shoot.
She left her long, blonde hair down and wore minimal makeup.
Robbie has been a Chanel ambassador since 2018 and is the current face of the iconic Chanel No. 5 fragrance.
The Barbie star and her husband, Tom Ackerley, welcomed a baby boy into the world seven months ago.
The doting mum, who will be starring opposite Jacob Elordi in the upcoming Wuthering Heights adaptation, has been keeping a low profile since early last year. Margot Robbie pictured on the set of a glamorous photoshoot in Malibu. Credit: X17online.com / X17online.com
She told Deadline in 2024 that she purposefully 'disappeared from screens for a while' after Barbie and instead put all her energy into producing for her LuckyChap Entertainment company.
'This is the longest I haven't acted on a set, because we finished Barbie in October of 2022,' she told the publication.
'So, it's already been more than a year since I was on set as an actor, and other than COVID, that's the first time that's ever happened.'
She was photographed around the Easter long weekend soaking up the Queensland weather, pictured alongside Ackerley as the couple hit the surf with friends.
Robbie wore a purple bikini and a gold 'mama' necklace and was seen body surfing at a quiet beach on the Gold Coast alongside a female friend.

Ashley Roberts thinks 'it'd be a shame' if Pussycat Dolls never reunited

Ashley Roberts is still holding out hopes for a Pussycat Dolls reunion. The Don't Cha hitmakers - which also included Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberley Wyatt, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton - were set to reunite in 2020 after almost a decade apart, but the COVID-19 pandemic scuppered their plans. She told the We Need To Talk podcast: "We were ready to go, and Ms. Rona [Coronavirus] shut it down. "[And] there's legal stuff that was involved, so I can't actually speak about that. Unfortunately, legal stuff started happening and it wasn't able to get figured out. "But I mean, you never know, like honestly, because I didn't think we'd get back out there the time that we did. So it'd be a shame not to." The AGE-year-old singer and dancer admitted she wishes she'd have been able to take on a greater role in the group, where Nicole was positioned as the frontwoman of sorts. She said: "There was a structure to the group that we knew about. The structure was that Nicole was the lead singer... it was what it was. "Do I wish it was a bit more expansive? Yes. But also I was getting to live out my dreams. I don't want to sit here and bash and speak negatively about it." In November last year, Nicole and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin "reached a settlement in principle" after a three-year legal battle of the cancelled reunion. The Poison singer was sued by Robin in September 2021 for allegedly refusing to take part in the comeback shows without full creative control and a 75 percent profit share. Her legal team branded the case "meritless", claiming she had simply asked to renegotiate her contract after the delay due to the pandemic. Later that month, Nicole announced the tour had been scrapped entirely, and in August 2022 she filed a cross complaint accusing the choreographer of mismanagement and misappropriating funds. Late last year, the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column reports the pair jointly filed documents in court in Los Angeles on Friday (01.11.24), which stated both 'parties have reached a settlement in principle, subject to the execution of certain written agreements.' The notice didn't disclose the terms of the agreement, but it meant a jury trial that had been scheduled for the following month was cancelled and replaced by a hearing on 28 July, 2025, to officially dismiss the case.

Sowing the Seeds of Love! Tears for Fears star Roland Orzabal and his wife Emily expecting first child

Tears for Fears musician Roland Orzabal and his wife are expecting a baby. The 63-year-old guitarist-and-vocalist and his spouse, photographer Emily Rath Orzabal, are having their first child together. Emily, 38, shared a photo of her showing off her baby bump on Instagram captioned simply with just a red heart emoji. The couple "secretly eloped" and married on Aspen Mountain in Colorado in 2020 after having to postpone their original wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Revealing their private nuptials, Emily posted on Instagram: "We had to postpone our original wedding date in September 2020 because of Covid. I felt as all corona brides have been feeling: angry, sad, gypped, and confused as to when we should have a wedding. "Roland and I were in the States for work. We desperately wanted to get married, even just legally, and so to honour our original date, we secretly eloped, just the two of us, atop a mountain in Aspen. It was the most magical moment of my life. It breaks my heart that my family could not be there to see it, but no one wanted to risk their safety. "Two weddings was never my dream, but we adapted, separating the legal wedding from the celebratory wedding to come. In September we were able to use the autumnal flowers we'd originally wanted, and next year we can have all of the spring flowers! We got married at 11,212 ft high on Aspen Mountain, whereas next year will be inside an incredible venue. I wore a stunning Amanda Wakeley dress, which flowed in the wind so beautifully, and next year I will be wearing Phillipa Lepley. I still don't feel as though I've had a wedding, because it was just the two of us, and it was a secret. We have yet to have a first dance or a honeymoon! But, six months into marriage, I am so happy, and cannot wait to marry Roland again next year, with all of our favourite people around us. We've been planning that one for a very very long time, so it should be extraordinary!" A year after Roland and Emily's elopement in 2020, they had a celebratory wedding with friends and family at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. Roland is one half of Tears For Fears with Curt Smith and their hits include Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Head over Heels. Orzabal already has two sons, Pascal and Raoul, from his previous marriage to Caroline Orzabal. Caroline died in July 2017 aged 54 after suffering from alcoholism-related dementia and cirrhosis, which followed a depression diagnosis. Following the passing of Caroline with whom he was married to since 1982, Roland told The Irish Times that his life 'sort of fell apart in 2018' and he went to rehab. The traumatic events in his personal life eventually led to Tears For Fears writing their seventh studio LP The Tipping Point. Tears For Fears released the song Emily Said on October 25, 2024, inspiring which Emily to post on her Instagram: 'It's a good day for Emilys around the world because @tearsforfearsmusic just released a song about us'.

Fanstasic Four director speaks on 'passing the baton' to Russo brothers for Avengers: Doomsday

The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman is ready to "pass the baton" to the Joe and Anthony Russo for Avengers: Doomsday. The 49-year-old filmmaker – who helmed the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie – revealed the directing duo had visited the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps to get a feel of the titular family for their 2026 blockbuster. Speaking with Deadline, Shakman said of the Russo brothers: "They were very curious about what we were doing - they came to tour our sets, they would watch scenes that we were cutting together. "They wanted to get to know these people as they were working on their story and their script, so that I could pass the baton to them and these characters would be well cared for." The Fantastic Four: First Steps – which stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing – follows the titular family as they gain extraordinary powers after a cosmic accident during their exploration of outer space. As they grapple with their new identities, the Fantastic Four must unite to stop the rising threat of Galactus (Ralph Ineson), who is hell-bent on destroying the destroy Earth. While he has "no idea" what Marvel boss Kevin Feige has in store for fans with Avengers: Doomsday, Ineson insisted he would "of course" team up with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in the MCU if he was given the chance. He said: "I have no idea what Kevin Feige and everybody have planned, but I worked with Robert a few years ago on Dolittle for a few days, and he's an absolute gentleman and amazing actor, so I loved having the chance to work with him and watch him work. "So, yeah, if I got the chance to team up with him again, of course I would." As well as the Fantastic Four, Avengers: Doomsday will see the return of X-Men stars like Sir Ian McKellen's Magneto, Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X, James Marsden's Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn's Mystique, Kelsey Grammer's Beast and Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler. Other cast members for the movie include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as James 'Bucky' Barnes, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. While exact plot details about Avengers: Doomsday are being kept under wraps, the film – which is slated to hit cinemas on December 18, 2026 – will likely see the Avengers, the New Avengers, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four team up to stop Doctor Doom from carrying out his catastrophic plans for the Multiverse. With production on the movie currently underway, Feige revealed Avengers: Doomday's script is being tinkered with on set. He said at a recent press event: " There's plus-ing happening every day on the Avengers: Doomsday set right now, and it is amazing to watch because what those filmmakers, those actors, both the ones that are playing these characters for the first or second time and the one playing them for the 10th or 12th time, are the best in the world at it, and know these characters so well. "So if they have an idea, you want to listen to it and you want to adjust to it and you want to improve it. I wouldn't want to change that."
