Montreal buses change 'Go! Canadiens Go!' signage to French after complaints to language watchdog
Montreal's transit agency is now using the French expression 'Allez! Canadiens Allez!' on the electronic displays on the front of its buses to show support for the Montreal Canadiens' NHL playoff run. The decision was made because the word 'go' is an anglicism, said spokesperson Isabelle Tremblay.

Alex Laferriere agrees to a 3-year, $12.3 million deal to stay with the LA Kings
Forward Alex Laferriere has agreed to a three-year, $12.3 million deal to stay with the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings announced the deal Saturday for Laferriere, who was a restricted free agent this summer after playing out his entry-level contract. The 23-year-old Laferriere had 19 goals and 23 assists last year for the Kings, emerging as a dependable scorer in only his second NHL season. He largely played on the right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield, another key member of Los Angeles' young core, and high-scoring Kevin Fiala. A third-round pick in the 2020 draft, Laferriere has 31 goals and 34 assists in 158 games for the Kings. New Los Angeles general manager Ken Holland has taken care of his most pressing summer contract issues after the signing of Laferriere, but Holland said last month that he would be eager to sign Adrian Kempe to a long-term deal as the Swedish forward heads into the final season of his current contract.

The Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Nick Robertson on Saturday. Robertson, a potential trade target for the Pittsburgh Penguins, signed a one-year, $1.825 million contract to avoid arbitration. He was the last arbitration case left among the restricted free agents who filed for it. Robertson was a potential trade target for the Penguins this offseason because of his contract situation. They may try to circle back around this time next year since he's scheduled to be a restricted free agent again. Robertson played in 69 games during the 2024-25 season, finishing with 15 goals and 22 points. He had an even better season in 2023-24, compiling 14 goals and 27 points in 56 games. The Penguins are trying to get younger as they navigate their rebuild, and Robertson would've been a solid fit for their bottom six if the Leafs hadn't signed him to a new contract.
