‘This affordable hair mask revived my dry bleached hair after one treatment'
I've been on the hunt for the best hair care products to resurrect dry and damaged hair this year. As someone with bleached hair, ensuring my hair remains healthy and nourished can be difficult, especially after a trip to the hairdressers when my hair is at its most fragile. After trying various brands and products, there's one I come back to time and time again—OGX. They have a one-minute hair mask that's done wonders for my hair.
I've used OGX shampoo and conditioners for years, but they've recently released a Bond Repair 1-Minute Treatment Mask that's set to revive dry and damaged hair in as little as 60 seconds. Now that's a bold claim to live up to, so I thought I'd put it to the test, and needless to say I'm impressed with the results.
Currently retailing for an affordable £11.99 on Amazon, Boots, and Superdrug, this OGX Repair and Protect Bond Repair Mask promises to deliver rapid repair to damaged hair, providing shiny and smooth results that last. Boasting an innovative Bond Protein Complex, this repair mask is formulated with dual-action repair technology that rebuilds bonds in the inner hair cortex and binds to damaged sites on the hair cuticle to help keep hair strong, smooth, and resilient.
The one-minute damage repair hair treatment mask is designed without sulfated surfactants to avoid exposing hair to more damage or strong chemicals. The mask deeply nourishes hair to reduce visible signs of damage for stronger and healthier locks.
As instructed, I used this mask after shampooing and conditioning with my favourite OGX products; I tend to reach for the OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner (£4 each). I then applied a generous amount of the hair mask onto my hand and then worked it through to evenly distribute it into my damp hair from mid to ends. It's worth mentioning I have relatively short and thin hair, so I used a comparably small amount and practically covered all of my hair, though if you have longer or thicker hair, the amount you'll need will vary.
You're then supposed to leave the mask on for one minute before rinsing it off and relishing the results. The first time I used the mask, I decided to put it on before going to bed, as I've found hair masks work best when left on for longer than the minimum amount. When I woke up and washed out the mask, my hair was unbelievably soft to the touch and felt healthier than ever.
Especially during the hot weather we've been seeing through the spring and into the summer, dealing with dry hair can seem like an uphill battle, but this OGX hair mask transformed my dry and bleach-damaged hair overnight.
Following this dazzling first impression, I opted to see what the results would look and feel like if I used the mask for one minute as directed. When compared to leaving the mask on for eight hours, the one-minute results were just as impressive. My hair looked shinier and healthier and felt smooth to the touch.
What's just as impressive as the short treatment time is the minimal amount I needed to achieve these results. Costing an already budget-friendly £12, this hair mask is set to last for dozens of treatments while offering the same long-term results you'd expect to see from a salon treatment.
It's not just me who loves this mask, as Amazon shoppers have bestowed plenty of 5-star reviews. One buyer beams: "The Treatment Mask is not too thick and has a really lovely scent. It made my hair soft and glossy without making it greesy. Highly recommended."
Another shares: "Used this as a quick fix before a night out—worked a treat! Smoothed my split ends and made my hair look much neater without feeling greasy. Just a couple of pumps was enough, even for my thick hair. Small bottle, but it goes a long way. Great for last-minute touch-ups, though I wouldn't use it every day."
And a third chimes in: "I love the OGX shampoo and conditioner range and have used quite a few of them, the coconut being a particular favourite. As my hair is bleached to within of its life, it needs all the conditioning it can get. I was therefore really keen to try out the OGX Bond Repair treatment. The treatment mask is applied just like any other hair mask. After shampooing and conditioning with your favourite OGX products, apply a generous amount of the hair mask into your palm and evenly distribute into damp hair from mids to end; leave in for at least one minute and rinse."
They go on to add: " The mask is white and is of a creamy consistency and has a nice, subtle fragrance. After washing and conditioning, I apply the mask and tend to leave it on for the full duration of my soak in the bath, circa 30 minutes. The mask leaves my hair feeling really soft and silky, without leaving any greasy residue or weighing my hair down. I'm actually rather impressed with how well it deeply conditions my bleached damaged hair. As with all hair care products, results will vary from person to person depending on hair type and condition. All I can say is that my personal experience of using this product has so far been very positive."
You can pick up the OGX Repair and Protect Bond Repair Mask for an affordable £11.99 on Amazon, Boots, and Superdrug.

Shoppers 'can't stop smiling' thanks to teeth whitening brand with 30% off
Good oral health is crucial for maintaining a dazzling smile, healthy gums and fresh breath, making good quality dental products a worthwhile investment. But with so many different options to choose from, it can be hard to determine which products are both effective and offer value for money MySweetSmile has been hailed as the UK's top teeth whitening brand, having garnered high ratings and numerous awards. Now, in celebration of five successful years and countless bright smiles, they're offering a host of deals to show their appreciation to both new and existing customers. To kick things off, they're offering a 30% discount on all products, along with a complimentary mystery flavour toothpaste - either mint, strawberry or mango - for customers. Additionally, there's a buy two get one free deal across all products, free two-day delivery on orders over £20 for UK-based shopper and many other enticing offers. There's no need for any codes as all discounts are automatically applied at checkout, and these offers are available site-wide from July 31 to August 7, reports the Manchester Evening News. Among the array of products on offer, customers can select from a variety of options such as the Teeth Whitening Powder, now priced at £20.99, reduced from £29.99. This product is clinically proven and dentist-approved and has been designed to lift deep-set stains and prevent new ones from forming without the use of harsh peroxides that cause sensitivity or damage enamel. The Teeth Whitening Strips are also available for £20.99, down from £29.99, offering easy-to-use, non-slip strips that deliver quick results without harming the enamel. Get 30% off and free UK shipping from MySweetSmile The Precision Teeth Whitening Pen will also be discounted by 30% and is specifically designed for targeted whitening for those desiring extra bright teeth. Its fine brush tip allows customers to apply the formula precisely where needed and it doesn't contain any peroxide, so there should be no sensitivity caused to the teeth. For customers with damaged or sensitive enamel, the Enamel Care Serum could be an ideal choice. It targets the root cause of sensitivity by repairing and strengthening the enamel. For optimal results, customers simply follow their regular night-time brushing routine before applying the serum, dispense two to three pumps onto their toothbrush, brush for two minutes and spit out any excess. People with sensitive gums can now turn to MySweetSmile's Gum Serum, which boasts the benefits of hyaluronic acid for hydration, soothing inflammation, and strengthening gum tissue. It's recommended to use this product after your usual toothbrushing routine by applying two pumps onto the tongue and then spreading it gently across the gums, allowing it to absorb for a couple of minutes. Not all products suit everyone and if MySweetSmile doesn't hit the mark, there are other options available. For instance, Boots stocks the Rapid White - Blue Light Tooth Whitening System at £23.33, which promises to lighten teeth up to five shades in just two weeks and is designed with a peroxide-free formula for those with sensitivities. Alternatively, Lookfantastic offers the Spotlight Whitening Teeth Whitening Pen for £14.95, providing professional-looking whitening results from the comfort of home and helping to reduce stains for a more radiant smile Shoppers have delivered their verdicts on the MySweetSmile website, with Margaret, 63, quoted as saying of the Teeth Whitening Powder: "I always thought my yellow teeth were just part of ageing, but after just a few uses of MySweetSmile, I can't stop smiling at the mirror. My teeth feel so much cleaner and brighter—it's like I've turned back the clock on my smile!" Emily, 39, shared her experience saying: "I was sceptical at first, but this really works. My teeth looked dull and yellow no matter how much I brushed, but now they're sparkling clean and bright. The compliments haven't stopped, and I feel so much more confident!" Tom, 34, also praised the Teeth Whitening Strips, adding: "I'm always running around with work and barely have time for self-care. These strips fit perfectly into my busy routine, and the results are incredible! My teeth are whiter, and I feel so much more confident." However, Amazon reviews presented a mixed bag of opinions. One customer noted: "I have only just started using this, so I have not seen much difference yet but the powder leaves your mouth smelling fresh." Another user expressed slight disappointment, saying: "I bought this as it was recommended online. I'm not a smoker and I haven't been drinking much, I do drink coffee regularly but I equally regularly clean my teeth. There's an initial improvement but I'm not sure it's what I expected. I used it every day in the first week and only noticed the difference post brushing. Shortly after that - little difference." Most customers were happy with their MySweetSmile purchase. Another five-star review said: "I use this and after 2 or 3 days I noticed my teeth getting brighter and whiter and that improved again to the point my partner asked I had had my teeth whitened. My teeth feel clean and smooth."

Health tech companies commit to Trump's plan to share YOUR medical records with hundreds of systems
Major health tech companies have agreed to work with the Trump administration to make their clients' medical records available across multiple healthcare systems. The administration announced that tech and insurance companies including Google, Amazon, OpenAI, UnitedHealth Group and CVS will roll out new apps powered by AI where users can upload their health records to access whenever they need them, making them more accessible and shareable among patients and their doctors. While supporters say the move will help make the fragmented health record system more accessible to patients, privacy experts have raised concerns about the potential risks. Officials announced the effort Wednesday, which will involve collaboration between the federal government and 60 tech and health companies. Electronic health records often don't transfer smoothly between providers, forcing patients to fill out redundant paperwork at every appointment. This can lead to delays in care, repeated tests, missing or incomplete information, and even missed or incorrect diagnoses. Patients will be able to upload their consolidated health records onto their apps of choice, such as Oura, Anthropic, and ZocDoc, which officials say will allow people to meld their medical care with lifestyle tracking and tips. However, insurance exchange experts warn that the plan raises serious privacy concerns. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services must comply with HIPAA, the federal health privacy law that prohibits unauthorized sharing of a person's medical information, but third-party tech companies are generally not bound by HIPAA unless they're acting as a provider's business associate — meaning health data shared directly with an app, rather than through a doctor or hospital, often isn't protected under the same rules. HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy, Jr said Wednesday: 'For decades, bureaucrats and entrenched interests buried health data and blocked patients from taking control of their health. That ends today. 'We're tearing down digital walls, returning power to patients, and rebuilding a health system that serves the people. This is how we begin to Make America Healthy Again.' The new system, to be overseen by CMS, will require people to opt in. But this leaves room for inconsistent privacy protections, potential data commercialization hidden in the fine print, and little recourse if a tech company misuses personal health data outside HIPAA's purview. Once a patient's records are in the system, they will be able to transfer those records to wellness apps that track steps, exercise, and calories, a move that is designed for weight management and to help prevent or track diabetes. The weight-loss company Noom, for example, will be able to pull medical records, labs, or other tests of its users into its AI-driven analysis of what might help them lose weight, CEO Geoff Cook told the Associated Press. CMS said it plans to build an app 'library' on its site that will point people to trustworthy digital health tools. 'We have the tools and information available now to empower patients to improve their outcomes and their healthcare experience,' CMS Administrator Dr Mehmet Oz said. 'With the commitments made by these entrepreneurial companies today, we stand ready for a paradigm shift in the US healthcare system for the benefit of patients and providers.' But ethicists, patient advocates, and privacy experts fear the new initiative will be a minefield of data misuse, weak oversight, and uneven accountability. It remains unclear what privacy guardrails tech companies will erect for this nonbinding agreement with the administration and how it will hold those companies accountable for errors. Lawrence Gostin, a Georgetown University law professor who specializes in public health, told the AP: 'Patients across America should be very worried that their medical records are going to be used in ways that harm them and their families.' Even if apps use data that originated from a HIPAA-covered source, such as CMS, once in the hands of a non-covered third party, federal privacy protections on that data may weaken, depending on contracts and oversight. While the goal of the new CMS Interoperability Framework, which could go into effect as soon as next year, is to streamline health data sharing across a multitude of platforms, improved access to records enlarges targets for would-be hackers. It also increases the likelihood of sensitive data being shared with other parties without the person's consent. Jeffrey Chester, Executive Director of the Center for Digital Democracy, told the AP: 'This scheme is an open door for the further use and monetization of sensitive and personal health information.' This is President Trump's second attempt at devising a system that gives patients better access to their healthcare records. He made a similar proposal during his first term in 2018. It would have enabled people to easily transfer electronic health records from provider to provider, but it lacked the involvement of AI and some of the voluntary standards. The initiative did not have the impact the administration had hoped. Most providers did not switch to compatible systems and resisted sharing data for fear of a breach, while public awareness was low, so demand never reached expected levels.
