SEAN 'DIDDY' Combs' criminal case has been blasted as a 'total failure' for the prosecution and he will likely only get time served or a few years, legal experts believe.
The rap music mogul fell to his knees on Wednesday when the verdict was read out in a Manhattan courtroom.

The jury decided to only convict Combs of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, which each carry a maximum 10-year prison sentence and no minimum.
He has been acquitted of racketeering conspiracy, which carried a life sentence, and two counts of sex trafficking, the most serious crimes.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and has been behind bars ever since after multiple requests for bail were denied.
While the star and his family celebrate, his accusers will not after a grueling seven-week trial including harrowing testimony from over 30 witnesses, including his former girlfriends and employees.

A judge will decide whether or not he will be granted bail late on Wednesday, July 2.
However, prosecutors look set to argue that detention is mandatory following a conviction of this kind.
Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani, president of Los Angeles-based West Coast Trial Lawyers, who has been following the case since the beginning spoke to The U.S. Sun about the outcome.
He said, "Today's verdict is nothing less than a complete and total failure by the prosecution in what will go down as the most expensive prostitution trial in American history.
"Even though the Mann Act carries a potential 10-year maximum sentence, Diddy is going to get time served or close to it. His sentencing guideline range may be as low as 15-21 months.

The U.S. Sun obtained a letter from the prosecution sent to Judge Arun Subramanian following the verdict on Wednesday.
They say the guideline sentence for him is just 51 to 63 months [five and a half years maximum], and he has already been behind bars for nine months.
It reads, "The Government notes, however, that the Guidelines applicable at sentencing may be higher than this preliminary calculation.

"The Government has not had adequate time to carefully
consider all potentially applicable Guidelines provisions."
He believes that the sex trafficking charges appeared weak because of the "evidence of consent" the jury was told throughout the trial.
"The prosecution's only real chance of a victory was racketeering and to prove a non-sex related predicate act like kidnapping, arson, extortion, or bribery," Rahmani continued.
"The fact that the jury even rejected that argument shows the many flaws in the prosecution's case.
"They failed to lean on and flip key members of Diddy's inner circle like KK and D-ROC."
The prosecution also didn't call any of the alleged sexual assault victims who have filed civil lawsuits against Combs, who did not have a romantic or professional relationship with him.
Many celebrities who showed the alleged victims support throughout the trial have expressed their disappointment at the outcome of the trial.
Rosie O'Donnell shared on Instagram on Wednesday, "I guess a jury just never wants to believe that a woman stays because of power and coercion - wow - they just think women stay because what? money - fame - 'they love the abuse' - what a fucking joke - this decision got me angry #cassie."
New Mexico-based criminal defense attorney John W. Day also told The U.S. Sun he felt the verdict was a "major loss for the prosecutors."
He said, "They presented a tsunami of evidence against Diddy over many weeks, and the jurors did not buy their story.
"The government was trying to convince the jury that RICO — which was designed to go after the Mafia and mob organized crime families — should be applied to baby oil and Diddy's high-flying lifestyle in the music business, and the jury just was not convinced.
"The prosecutors believed that Cassie Ventura and Jane — the girlfriend who testified under an alias — would tell a story of victimization that the jury would feel empathy for, but they most likely just saw these witnesses as willing participants in the glamorous world of Diddy.
"In retrospect, the prosecutors aimed too high with the RICO charges.
"He's likely to get some time in federal prison — maybe more than three or five years, but not the full 20 years he's facing after convictions on the two counts.
"At the end of the day, the prosecutors need a black box, like we have in airplanes to tell us what went wrong after a crash, to find out what failed with their case."
Combs' legal team has written a letter, obtained by The U.S. Sun, to Judge Subramanian outlining the reasons why they say he should be released from custody.
They argue he is not a flight risk and has been a model inmate and shown up to all court hearings, adding that "reasonable conditions would ensure" he would not have the ability to arrange to meet with escorts in the future.
His defense also says the jury "unambiguously rejected the government's allegations that Mr. Combs ran a years-long criminal enterprise or engaged in sex trafficking - the core of the government's case."

The officer said they believed the 911 call was placed either by the driver of the other vehicle or a passerby. "Sophia was driving the 2013 Polaris when she collided with the rear bumper of party two, which was also traveling southbound, so she was going faster than the other party," according to law enforcement. "The force of the collision caused party one's vehicle, the Polaris, to veer to the right and over the cliff side, traveling 350 feet down to the ravine below," they added. "Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and determined that the driver of the Polaris was deceased." "Party two and her passenger were not injured in the collision. "There's no evidence of intoxication on either party at this point in time. "We don't have any definitive evidence of any of that, and we are waiting for bloodwork." One dead and woman left in critical condition after fireworks explode and light a whole city block on fire
A man has died and a woman was left in critical condition after fireworks 'rained down' on a Los Angeles neighborhood, lighting an entire block on fire. Over 100 firefighters battled the blazes Thursday night after a fireworks explosion set multiple homes on fire in the Pacoima community, around 20 miles north of the city. A 30-year-old man was found dead at the scene of the incident, the department reported, adding that a 33-year-old woman had been left in critical condition, and a 68-year-old woman had been treated for smoke inhalation, according to the LAFD. The name of the man has not been released. By the time officers arrived, three one-story homes were on fire, with fireworks that were inside a detached garage 'actively detonating' and threatening to set more houses and brush in the area alight. "This structure fire also was involving a significant amount of fireworks that were being stored there and these fireworks were raining all upon the neighborhood," said David Ortiz, LAFD's public information officer. Several animals were also reportedly injured in the incident. LAFD HazMat and arson investigators, along with the LAPD Bomb Squad and the Mayor's Crisis Team, responded to the scene. "Many [fireworks] are being sold out of people's private garages and private residences… by folks that really don't know how to handle fireworks," said Ortiz. "Especially when they're fireworks that have been stored for a long time and they crystalize, they can start some burn on their own.' 'We need to change that culture to one where folks go to see a professional show. Southern California is not really a safe place to detonate these fireworks, they're very powerful and can start fires.' Ortiz added that the dry vegetation in the area could also add to risk of blazes getting out of control. The explosion in Pacoima came just hours after another deadly incident involving fireworks earlier in the day in Simi Valley. "We are encouraging people to leave the fireworks to the professionals," said Ortiz. "I felt almost like the impact, you feel it. And as soon as I heard that, I turned down the street to see if anyone needed help and more fireworks started going off," a Pacoima resident told ABC7. "It felt like an fireworks started going off and sooner or later all these fires started coming."

The judge who will decide Diddy 's prison sentence gave a hint that he will side with prosecutors and apply the full weight of the law against the music mogul. Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy's request for a $1million bond, arguing that, although he was acquitted of the most serious charges, the trial proved the rapper has 'a propensity for violence' and is a danger to society. The judge added that Diddy's 'violence was starkly depicted' in the 2016 footage of the rapper assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles. 'You full-throatedly in your closing argument told the jury that there was violence here, and domestic violence is violence,' Subramanian said as he denied Diddy's bond. 'You said this was a case that did have violence.' Indeed, Diddy's lawyers won the jury over by insisting that that Diddy was a domestic abuser, but not a sex-trafficker or the head of a criminal enterprise. Now the judge might use that same admission to justify a long prison sentence for his two convictions for transportation to engage in prostitution. Former federal prosecutor Jennifer Beidel told the judge's comments suggest he will side with prosecutors, who want Diddy to face four to five years - above the guidelines based on the sentences of other similarly situated defendants. 'He is saying he thinks that Diddy poses a danger to society,' Beidel said of Subramanian's comments. 'In the bond hearing, both sides did a guidelines calculation, and the government's was higher. I think the judge is probably signaling that he's gonna be receptive to some of those additions to the guidelines range, and when the guidelines range goes up, the sentence usually goes up.' Diddy's lawyers said that under federal sentencing guidelines, he would likely face about two years in prison. They pleaded with the judge to let the mogul await his sentencing in his Miami mansion. The judge declined the request and set a sentencing for October 3rd, though it's likely that date will be moved up in a hearing next week. Prosecutors already submitted letters by Diddy accusers as they objected to his bond proposal, including one from Cassie Ventura's lawyer saying, 'Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community.' The state will likely submit further testimonies by alleged victims as they ask the judge for a lengthy sentence for Diddy. Locked up since his September arrest, Diddy has already served nine months. A jury of eight men and four women acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges related to allegations that he used his money, power and frightening physical force to manipulate girlfriends into hundreds of drug-fueled sex marathons with men. Diddy's defense team argued that the women were willing participants and that none of his violence justified the severity of the charges. His lead attorney Marc Agnifilo asked that he be released on bond immediately to await sentencing, saying the acquittals changed the calculus about whether he needed to be held. 'He's not going to flee. He's been given his life back,' Agnifilo said. Judge Subramanian denied it, saying Diddy — for now — had not met the burden of showing by clear and convincing evidence a 'lack of danger to any person or the community.' Diddy sat stoic as he heard the bond decision, then snapped his head toward Agnifilo and wrote several notes as the lawyer spoke. Finally Diddy raised his hand and waved to get the judge's attention. But he ultimately did not speak after consulting with Agnifilo. Leaving the courtroom for a final time, he paused to address relatives packed into rows of wooden benches who supported him throughout the eight-week trial. 'Be strong.
