Ace Aouchiche, capped up to Under-20 level with France, has flown to meet Jimmy Thelin's squad in Portugal.
He said: "It's a special feeling to sign for Aberdeen.
"The best move for me is to come here.
"Everyone knows that it's a huge club in Scotland and Europe.
"I had a really positive and important talk with the manager, and he made me feel like I was wanted here.
"I will try to bring everything to my team-mates.
"I want to achieve things at Aberdeen and hopefully make some good memories."
Dons boss Thelin wants to take his new-look squad to the next level ahead of guaranteed European league-phase football this term.
He said: "We're delighted to welcome Adil to Aberdeen.
"He's a technically gifted player who brings creativity and strong attacking instincts to our midfield.

"At just 22, he has already played at a high level in France and in England.
"Adil's experience, coupled with his desire to keep improving makes him a really exciting addition to the group, and we believe that this is a great environment for him to thrive."
Meanwhile, Dons scout Erik Edman insists that they can lure top Scandinavian prospects by being a pathway to England.
The ex-Spurs and Sweden star is also No 2 at Swedish minnows Hittarp.
Edman said: "We want to be a bridge to England.
"It's a selling point Aberdeen have, maybe.
"As an example, we took Alexander Jensen last winter, who played for Brommapojkarna at right-back.
"He has been very good with us.
"The Scandinavian mentality is quite similar to the Scottish one, in terms of culture and the level.
"It happens very rarely an Allsvenskan player goes straight to the Premier League.
"The intermediate step is often very useful from a career perspective."

Liverpool learn Malick Fofana asking price as Luis Diaz speaks out about future
Liverpool have already made six new signings this summer and there could be plenty more incomings and outgoings before the transfer window slams shut on September 1 Liverpool have enjoyed a busy summer so far, bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili as Arne Slot looks to guide the Reds to another Premier League title win. There have also been a number of outgoings, with Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid, Jarell Quansah making the move to Bayer Leverkusen and Caoimhin Kelleher signing for Brentford. And there could be plenty more incomings and outgoings before the window slams shut on September 1. Here, Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer news and rumours from in and around Anfield... Fofana's asking price According to a report from the Independent, Liverpool target Malick Fofana is valued at around €60m (£51.5m) by Lyon. The report states that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Nottingham Forest and Fulham are all interested in the 20-year-old after he produced 17 goal contributions in 41 games last season. The report states that Lyon are hopeful the price will be driven up due to the amount of interest in Fofana. The French side do need to sell as their financial problems have seen them relegated from Ligue 1, although the club are appealing the decision. Diaz speaks out Luis Diaz has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich said to be interested in signing the winger. And Diaz has now spoken out about the rumours, telling Colombian broadcaster WinSports: "It's not known yet, we're talking with the board. We're comfortable with where I am, and we'll have to see." However, it has previously been reported that Liverpool have do not want to sell the winger and have already rejected an approach from Bayern. Diaz scored 17 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions last season. Zubimendi joins Arsenal Arsenal have signed midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, just one year after he rejected the chance to join Liverpool. Zubimendi was reluctant to leave his boyhood club last year and the 26-year-old has now revealed why he has chosen Arsenal. "This is a huge moment in my career," he told the Arsenal website. "It's the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are. I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play is a good fit for me. They have shown their potential recently and the best is yet to come."

Arsenal sign Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad
The Spain international, 26, moves to the Emirates Stadium on a long-term deal after the Gunners reportedly triggered his £51million release clause. Euro 2024 winner Zubimendi had previously been a target for Liverpool and was also linked with Real Madrid. Zubimendi told the club website: 'This is a huge moment in my career. It's the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are. 'I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play is a good fit for me. They have shown their potential recently and the best is yet to come.' Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is confident Zubimendi can help reinforce his midfield options, having seen Thomas Partey's contract expire and Jorginho also leave the club. 'Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football intelligence to our team. He will fit in really well and he has all the attributes to be a key player for us,' Arteta said. 'The standard he has consistently performed at over the last few seasons for both club and country is exactly why we are so excited to have him with us. We all welcome Martin and his family to the club.' A post shared by Arsenal (@arsenal) A graduate of the Sociedad academy system, Zubimendi made 236 appearances for the club in all competitions at senior level and helped the team lift the delayed 2019-20 Copa del Rey with victory over Athletic Bilbao. He was also involved as Sociedad finished fourth in the 2022-23 season – their highest league finish – to reach the Champions League for only the third time in their history. The midfielder has been capped 19 times by Spain, where he was part of the squad who won the Nations League in 2023 and became European champions last year after beating England in the final. Zubimendi becomes Arsenal's second signing this summer after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joined from Chelsea. The Gunners are also expected to complete the signing of Christian Norgaard, with the Brentford captain looking set to join for a reported £10m with a potential £5m of add-ons.
