AMC Lincoln Square closed after video shows flooding
NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – An AMC in Manhattan is closed after videos posted to social media show the movie theater flooding during Monday's storms. The location on Broadway and West 68th Street is 'temporarily closed' on Tuesday, according to a message on the theater's website. Is your subway station flooded? Don't try to go inside, MTA says 'We apologize for the inconvenience, but this theatre is temporarily closed for unforeseen maintenance. Please continue to check back here for updates,' reads the message. A video posted to TikTok Monday show water bursting out of the ceilings, dousing the concessions area and covering the ground. Another video posted to TikTok shows moviegoers evacuating the theater. 'Didn't get to watch the last 15 minutes of Superman,' wrote Yasmine. 'AMC Theatre Lincoln Square flooded, whole theatre had to evacuate.' A spokesperson for AMC did not immediately respond to PIX11's request for comment. Subway stations and streets also flooded during the intense rainstorm Monday evening, including the 28th Street station in Manhattan. Four men held onto sinking boat for an hour in Long Island Sound: SCPD
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – Four men held onto a sinking boat for an hour before being rescued in the Long Island Sound, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The men, all from Connecticut, were found around 12:07 a.m. Sunday near Stratford Shoal, police said. The 20-foot center console power boat had overturned, police said. More Local News The men were not wearing life jackets but held onto the boat for an hour before police pulled them out of the water. They were taken to an area hospital, police said. Cassie Ventura's lawyer after Sean ‘Diddy' Combs verdict: ‘She's in a good place'
NEW YORK (PIX11) — Music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges in a Manhattan court on Wednesday, one of which was brought forward by singer Cassie Ventura. Following the verdict, Ventura's lawyer Douglas Wigdor spoke to PIX11 news outside of courthouse. More Local News 'She's in a good place,' he said when asked about Ventura's reaction to the verdict. 'She's pleased that the jury has found him guilty of two federal crimes.' Cassie testified about her turbulent 11-year relationship with Combs, which began after she signed with his Bad Boy record label. More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State Cassie said Combs became obsessed with voyeuristic encounters, arranged with the help of his staff, that involved sex workers and copious amounts of baby oil. During the sex events, called 'freak-offs' or 'hotel nights,' Combs would order Cassie to do things with other men that she found humiliating, she testified. 'We would have liked to see a conviction on the sex crimes and RICO but we understand that beyond a reasonable doubt is a high standard,' Wigdor said outside the courthouse.
