
MG M9 Luxury EV Debuts In India, Boasts 'Presidential Seats' With 8 Massage Modes

Morris Garages (MG) has launched its new luxury electric car, the MG M9, in India, with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 69.90 lakh. Targeted at buyers seeking a premium electric driving experience, the MG M9 will be sold exclusively through the company's select dealership network, MG Select. MG's upcoming electric sports car, the Cyberster, will also be retailed through this channel in the future.
In the first phase, MG M9 will be available across 14 showrooms in 13 cities, with plans to gradually expand nationwide. Bookings for the M9 are now open with a token amount of Rs 1 lakh, and deliveries will begin from August 10, 2025.
Powerful Electric Performance & Fast Charging
The MG M9 features a powerful front-wheel-mounted electric motor producing 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It's equipped with a 90 kWh battery, offering a certified range of up to 548 km on a single charge.
When using a 160 kW DC fast charger, the battery charges from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, and reaches 100% in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. A standard 11 kW AC charger takes approximately 10 hours for a full charge.
The exterior features sleek LED headlights, a bold front grille, and waterfall-style LED taillights. With 19-inch alloy wheels and self-sealing tyres, the car ensures a strong grip across all seasons. Its heated ORVMs (side mirrors) improve visibility during rain or fog.
Luxury Interiors With 'Presidential' Rear Seats
Inside, the MG M9 offers the feel of a luxury hotel. The rear seats, called 'Presidential Seats', come with 16-way adjustment, heating, cooling, and 8 massage modes. A dual sunroof and 64-colour ambient lighting elevate the cabin's appeal.
The front seats are also generously equipped, offering 12-way adjustment for the driver and 8-way power adjustment for the passenger. Both seats include massage functions, a first in this segment. Additional features include:
The M9 scores high on safety as well. It comes with 7 airbags as standard and has received a 5-star safety rating from crash test agencies in Europe and Australia. Built with high-strength steel, the car is also equipped with Level 2 ADAS technology, ensuring smart and secure driving.
Like other MG vehicles, the M9 is also an internet-connected car, offering modern features for the tech-savvy driver.

Officials: UPSIDA purifying waste water at treatment plants for reuse
The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), through sewage treatment plants (STPs), waste water treatment plants, and common effluent treatment plants, is purifying and reusing wastewater keeping in mind environmental protection and industrial efficiency, officials said. The Surajpur waste water treatment plant (Gautam Budh Nagar) is being upgraded to SBR technology with a capacity of 6 MLD at a cost of Rs 899 lakh, targeted for completion by June 2026. The EPIP Kasna waste water treatment plant (3.6 MLD) is being upgraded with SBR technology at a cost of Rs 678.59 lakh. The Loni STP in Ghaziabad, based on MBBR technology, is operating at full capacity (5 MLD). Meanwhile, the Loni common effluent treatment plant dedicated to dyeing and textile waste is set for a major upgrade—from 6 MLD to 16 MLD—with a Rs 42 crore DPR already prepared. UPSIDA is integrating solar energy solutions into water purification plants and industrial areas. Rooftop solar panels are being installed at plant sites, leading to a significant reduction in energy costs and carbon emissions.

Lokesh urges NRIs to be partner in AP's development
1 2 Vijayawada: HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh called upon the Singapore-based Telugu diaspora to promote investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. He described Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) as Most-Reliable Indians (MRIs) as their role in the development of the homeland is significant. Speaking at the Telugu diaspora meeting organised by APNRT in Singapore on Sunday, Minister Lokesh emphasised that foreign investments are crucial to India's economy. He said that India received a total of Rs 6.73 lakh crore in foreign direct investments during the 2024-25 fiscal year, with approximately Rs 1.24 lakh crore coming from Singapore. He said that this accounts for 19% of the total FDI. "The global trust in Chandrababu Naidu is our investment. CBN (Chandrababu Naidu) is our brand. Let's promote the opportunities in our state to attract investments," Lokesh urged. Lokesh lauded the Telugu community's influence abroad, stating that NRIs are India's brand ambassadors. He urged all NRIs to partner in the state's development. "If a significant portion of the investments come to Andhra Pradesh, our state will become another Singapore," said Lokesh. Uttar Pradesh secures ₹12,031 crore under PMAY-Urban 2.0
LUCKNOW: In a major push towards ' Housing for All ', the Uttar Pradesh government has secured financial approval of Rs 12,031 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Mission 2.0 to provide pucca houses to the urban poor, according to a statement released on Saturday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure transparency and quality in construction, the statement said. Following this, geo-tagging and photographic documentation of each house will be mandatory under PMAY (Urban), enabling real-time monitoring at every stage of construction. All houses will also be equipped with disaster-resilient features to safeguard against earthquakes, floods, and other calamities, making safety an integral component of the scheme, it said. The cost of construction under the scheme is being shared between the Centre and the state government in a 60:40 ratio. Each eligible beneficiary will receive Rs 2.5 lakh in assistance to build a permanent (pucca) house. Launched on September 1, 2024, the PMAY (Urban) Mission 2.0 aims to ensure pucca houses for all families by the set deadline. The scheme is being closely monitored by officials at both the state and district levels to guarantee timely and quality construction. The initiative not only provides social security to the urban poor but also promotes integrated urban development across Uttar Pradesh, the statement added.
