The 2025 CHEO Telethon takes place June 7 on CTV Ottawa
The 42nd annual CHEO Telethon takes place June 7 on CTV Ottawa, raising money for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
The annual fundraiser features powerful stories of hope, healing and heroism from families across the region and shines a light on the spectacular care provided by the doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers at CHEO.
The CHEO Telethon is one of the most important community fundraising events of the year in Ottawa.
'When kids come through the doors at CHEO, just about every aspect of their care and treatment – the programs, the research behind the diagnoses and treatments, the equipment, the physical space – so much of it is either funded by, or enhanced by, donor support,' says Steve Read, President and CEO, CHEO Foundation. 'CHEO was built by the community and has become the world-renowned institution it is, thanks to ongoing support from donors. But kids are struggling more than ever which is why funding from events like the CHEO Telethon are crucial. We have begun a large campus redevelopment and expansion in order to meet the needs of children, youth and families in our growing community. I'm confident that we will meet our fundraising goals because our community of supporters are with us.'
This year's telethon shines a light on six remarkable CHEO families who courageously share their journeys through medical challenges - highlighting the profound impact of CHEO's care. The broadcast will also feature frontline doctors, behind-the-scenes looks at the latest hospital innovations, and the return of our beloved Miracle Matches, where donations are doubled thanks to the generosity of local sponsors.
'The CHEO Telethon is more than a broadcast, it's a lifeline,' said Peter Angione, News Director at CTV Ottawa. 'This is a cause that's been close to our hearts for more than 50 years. Every story shared, every dollar raised, brings us closer to saving and improving lives. We're proud to stand with CHEO and our community to champion children's health.'
The CHEO Telethon will air Saturday, June 7, on CTV Ottawa, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Online donations can be made any time from now through June 7 at https://telethon.cheofoundation.com/.
During the telethon, you can donate by calling 613-730-CHEO (2436). Money raised during the CHEO Telethon will support research, life-saving treatment and state-of-the-art medical equipment at the children's hospital.
Many familiar faces from CTV Ottawa will appear on the 2025 CHEO Telethon, lead by CTV News at 6 anchor Patricia Boal, CTV News at 5 host Stefan Keyes, CTV Weather & Community Anchor Jackie Perez, and CTV Morning Live's Rosey Edeh & Melissa Lamb.
Last year's CHEO Telethon on CTV Ottawa raised $720,600 after a two-week campaign of raising money and awareness about Ottawa's children's hospital.
