Congratulations are pouring in for Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley on Thursday, after the Super Bowl-winning running back announced a big-time life change.

Barkley, who had the best season of his career in Philadelphia in 2024, revealed that he recently underwent a major life change. Barkley, who starred collegiately at Penn State, became a Christian. He credits his newfound faith for his successful Year 1 in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles star appeared on a YouTube golf video with Grant Horvat, one of the most popular people in the YouTube golf space. Barkley made an appearance on his channel of over 1.3 million followers for his "Break 60" series.
"I'm very big in my faith, you are as well," Horvat asked Barkley.
"Yes, I just became a Christian not too long ago," Barkley responded. "I don't think it's a coincidence that the best year I had in my career, I found my faith. It gives me some clarity in life."

"I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I know the Bible, like, in and out. It's something I'm learning, I'm challenging myself to get better at with my family and my friends," Barkley explained. "[I'm] really lucky to have my agent [Ed Berry], he's a pastor and I'm able to have Bible studies with him."
"But [I'm] just growing, and I think that's the beautiful thing about it, and I think that's what religion and faith is, is having a relationship with God and understanding who Jesus is, and that's what I've been trying to do this year. I'm going to continue to try to get better at it."
Congratulations are pouring in for Barkley for being so open and honest.

49ers sign WR Marquez Callaway, QB Carter Bradley
The 49ers announced a number of roster moves on Thursday, including the previously reported additions of running back Ameer Abdullah and wide receiver Andy Isabella. Two other players who tried out alongside Abdullah and Isabella on Wednesday also landed spots on the roster. Wide receiver Marquez Callaway and quarterback Carter Bradley signed with the team. Callaway played two games for the Bucs after making 45 appearances for the Saints over his first four seasons. He had 83 catches for 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns while with New Orleans. Bradley spent last season on the Raiders' practice squad. The 49ers made room for the new arrivals by waiving or releasing wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez, wide receiver Malik Knowles, and safety Jaylen Mahoney. They also activated offensive lineman Ben Bartch off of the non-football injury list.

Scott's birdie binge keeps FedEx playoffs in sight
Adam Scott has rung off four consecutive birdies and shot a five-under-par 65 in the first round of the Wyndham Championship, not far from the position required to crash the FedEx Cup playoff starting next week. The Australian had missed a four-foot birdie at the Wyndham Championship in 2023 to snap his 16-year streak of reaching the playoff. Perhaps his best shot of the day was the 33ft putt at the par-three seventh. It was his seventh birdie of the round. By the time he signed his scorecard, Scott and playing partner Jordan Spieth were tied for fifth and two back of the leaders. Scott has two top-10 finishes at Sedgefield. He did not play last year after taking second at the Scottish Open and tying for 10th in the Open Championship. This season has been more of a grind.
