Geri Horner drops major clue about epic Spice Girls reunion after meeting new girl group hopefuls Sweet Love - as pop legends 'plan world tour'
The girl-group are understood to be considering a reunion of their own, six years after they filled stadiums across the United Kingdom with their Spice World mini-tour.
The reported tour will be launched to celebrate their 30th anniversary, and founding member Geri Horner suggested she was keen for a return to the stage during a recent chat with new girl band Sweet Love.
Pop veteran Geri, 52 - known to millions as Ginger Spice - stunned the fledgling four-piece with a surprise backstage meeting, just days after publicly supporting them on social media.
The group, comprised of singers Honey, Jasmine, Venice, and Maya, posed for a series of photos with Geri, who hinted at a desire to dust off her Union Jack minidress and get back onstage.
'It was honestly insane meeting Geri,' said Honey. 'I cannot believe we met a Spice Girl after being a fan for so many years! A dream come true.
'We were joking around and asked if she would become the fifth member of our girl band - which she joked saying she'd love to. We were in awe of her!'
Band-mate Jasmine added: 'It was a dream come true to meet one of our inspirations!
'I absolutely am obsessed with the Spice Girls and hopefully one day we will be supporting them on tour!'
In April, Sweet Love were given the official Spice Girls seal of approval after posting a cover of their 1996 number one single Mama in conjunction with Mother's Day.
The '90s girl-group commented 'Love this' on the post, before resharing the video with their 1.1 million followers on TikTok.
Geri, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm are said to be meeting next week in Miami to discuss the finer details.
However Victoria Beckham is '90 per cent out of the running', with the foursome pushing ahead without her for now.
Geri and band manager and guru Simon Fuller are reportedly in touch again which has moved things along after years of hints from various members that they would get back together.
A source told The Sun: 'There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying yes.
'Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas.
'Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing. She would always want to honour the girls' history.'
'If Simon were to get involved, this would absolutely take any tour to the next level.'
Geri will be in Miami later this week to support her F1 boss husband Christian Horner at the Grand Prix and Simon will also be there.
