Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka dance at Centre Court and post about it on TikTok and Instagram
LONDON (AP) — Just in case anyone might have wondered whether there was any lingering animosity between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka after their French Open final, the two tennis stars offered proof that all is well by dancing together at Wimbledon on Friday and posting videos on social media.
'TikTok dances always had a way of bringing people together,' Sabalenka wrote on her Instagram feed below a clip of the duo showing off their moves on the Centre Court grass to the strains of the 1990 hit 'Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)' by C+C Music Factory.
Gauff, a frequent TikTok user, put up a video of the pair standing outside the main stadium at the All England Club and mouthing along to a track with the words: 'OK, guys, we're back. Did you miss us? 'Cause we missed you.'
Gauff wrote: 'the olive branch was extended and accepted! we're good so you guys should be too.'
The No. 1-ranked Sabalenka and the No. 2-ranked Gauff held a practice session together at Centre Court ahead of the year's third Grand Slam tournament, which begins on Monday.
Three weeks ago, Gauff beat Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 in the championship match at the last major, the French Open. Afterward, Sabalenka drew criticism from some for saying Gauff 'won the match not because she played incredible; just because I made all of those mistakes from ... easy balls.'
Sabalenka, a 27-year-old from Belarus, is a three-time Grand Slam champion and was the runner-up both times Gauff, a 21-year-old American, won a major trophy, including at the 2023 U.S. Open.
At Wimbledon this year, they only could face each other in the July 12 final.

That was Friday's message from Terrance Crawford and Canelo Alvarez, both complimentary of one another while downplaying a shoving incident in New York earlier this month during the media tour for their blockbuster match on Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium. 'You can see how big is this fight,' Alvarez said inside of a crammed dressing room at T-Mobile Arena before the official press conference began in front of thousands of fans. 'I'm glad to be involved in these big fights. And you know, Crawford is one of the best fighters in the last decade, and I'm glad to be here. 'These big fights don't need to talk (expletive) about each other. That's what I think.' Crawford, meanwhile, addressed why he pushed Alvarez in New York, saying he 'heard some things (he) didn't like,' but took the high road in sharing his excitement for what will be the biggest fight of his career. Cubs' Kyle Tucker, Ryan Pressly return to Daikin Park for first time since Astros traded them
HOUSTON (AP) — Kyle Tucker and Ryan Pressly returned to Daikin Park on Friday for the first time since the Houston Astros traded them to the Chicago Cubs during the offseason and were greeted by a video tribute before the start of the game. The two stepped out of the Cubs dugout and tipped their caps to the fans while getting a standing ovation. 'Obviously, we are here to do our job and win some games, but it's nice to at least catch up with some of the guys over there that I played with for awhile and been around, so it is cool in that sense' Tucker said earlier. A three-time All-Star right fielder eligible for free agency after the season, the 28-year-old Tucker is hitting .287 with 16 home runs and 49 RBIs. He was swapped in December for outfielder Cam Smith, infielder Isaac Paredes and right fielder Hayden Wesneski. Pressly, a 36-year-old right-hander, is 2-2 with five saves and a 3.90 ERA. The two-time All-Star closer was dealt in January for minor league right-hander Juan Bello. Tucker was part of Astros teams that reached six straight AL Championship Series and caught the final out of the 2022 World Series against Philadelphia. 'There's a lot of really good memories here,' Tucker said. 'We had a lot of success playing in this city and on this field. It's cool. The biggest thing is being around the guys in those moments.' Pressly earned the save in Game 6 of the 2022 World Series. 'A lot of memories were made out on that field,' Pressly said. 'A lot of lifetime friendships made on the other side as well. I always root for these guys. They were great teammates. I was super fortunate and blessed to share a clubhouse with a couple of those guys who are pretty much legends over there in this city.' Houston entered an AL West-best 48-33 record, identical to the record of the NL Central-leading Cubs. 'Every time they lose someone, they always seem to replace them with someone who is really good and kind of pick up the baton right behind them and keep winning. It's what they've been doing for the past decade now," Pressly said of the Astros. "It was fun to watch when I was on the team, but now that I'm not on the team, it's not fun to watch. It's always been a good team. It's going to be fun.'
