Cadillac boss expects rivals to be ‘apoplectic' if they lose to F1's newest team
Cadillac, a division of American motoring giant General Motors, will be supported by TWG Motorsports and powered by Ferrari before it develops its own engines.

They will become the first new constructor in a decade with one of four bases at Silverstone – the venue for this weekend's British Grand Prix – as well as Indiana, North Carolina and Michigan in the United States.
But despite the heavyweight backing of GM, British team principal Lowdon warned: 'We have had discussions with our shareholders about what expectations should be, and the easiest way I can describe it to them is, can you imagine if you have owned a Formula One team for 10 years and another team rocks up and beats you? You would be apoplectic, so annoyed, so you have to assume that any new team coming in is going to be last, otherwise what has gone wrong somewhere else?
'We want to be as competitive as we can but we have to be realistic, too. We see the numbers and we are happy with our progress. But we don't know where we will be other than if we beat someone, then they are going to be angry.
'There is no real magic to Formula One. It is just very, very difficult. The reason it is so difficult is because everyone is doing the same thing on the same day, and that is something that TWG and GM fully understand. We are partnering with a manufacturer that understands racing. You just tell them the truth.'
Cadillac's arrival as the 11th team on the grid will open up two driver vacancies. Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton's former wingman, is understood to be interested in a return to a full-time seat (he is currently reserve driver at Mercedes) in F1.
Sergio Perez, dropped by Red Bull at the end of last year, and former Formula Two champion Felipe Drugovich, have also been linked. Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu, who raced with Alfa Romeo and Sauber across three seasons, is another in the frame.
But Lowdon continued: 'Nothing is decided yet. There is a very strong argument to say that a new team in its first year of racing would benefit hugely from drivers who are experienced.
'We know who is in the market, and we have got a good idea of what we need, but we are some way off reaching that stage of finalising our line-up.'

Speaking more generally about the game, which saw flashes of real quality, Farrell was philosophical despite a comfortable scoreline. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It was not flowing. When we got going we did play some good stuff. "Our collision work was good and that helped us keep them out in the second half. "We will always have constant learnings." Morgan, who might have to battle it out with Curry and Tom van der Flier for that seven shirt, himself was his typical humble self following the match, praising the team rather than his own individual display. "It was a good game. It was a very physical game, especially the first half. It was a tough match so it was good to get the win.," he said. "It was a full team performance, we spoke about playing for 80 minutes and that is what we did. We kept on building and we will keep on building over the next couple of weeks. The budget carrier currently allows a free bag the size of 40cm x 25cm x 20cm into the cabin, which fits underneath the seat in front and is around 20 litres. Anyone with a bag that fits the new rules, will no longer be able to use it. Not only that, but all airports would need to change the size of their baggage sizers to be able to check them. The new rules are expected to be rolled out by the end of October this year. Ourania Georgoutsakou, Managing Director of Airlines for Europe (A4E) of which Ryanair is included, said: "This will align A4E members with the decision of member states made last month and bring more clarity to passengers across Europe. "From city-hoppers to family travellers, everyone will benefit from the same clear rule across our members' networks.' The size reduction comes amid the new EU rules set to be introduced which will ban airlines from charging for small carry on bags. This means passengers would be allowed a small cabin bag weighing up to 7kg, and no more than 100cm. The rules hope to simplify the travel process, with a common standard across the board for carry-on luggage. A Department for Transport spokeswoman said: 'We want to make sure passengers can travel with ease, which is why we landed a deal with the EU to allow millions more British nationals to use e-gates at airports in time for the summer holidays.' How to check in for a Ryanair flight Yet those opposing it have warned it will race plane ticket prices. Not only that, but most airlines do not have the overhead locker capacity to allow all passengers a cabin bag. Airlines for Europe Managing Director Ourania Georgoutsakou told Politico: 'The European Parliament should let travellers decide what services they want, what services they pay for and, importantly, what services they don't.' Other budget airlines that don't allow free cabin bags offer a much larger underseat bag size allowance. EasyJet allows bags that are 45cm x 36cm x 20cm, and have confirmed they won't reduce their sizes. While Wizz Air allow bags up to 40cm x 30cm x 20cm. British Airways and Jet2 have the same smaller size as Ryanair, but also allow a free cabin bag, measuring 56cm x 45cm x 15cm. Earlier this year, Ryanair were forced to refund a customer £124 after it was ruled they shouldn't have charged them for their hand luggage. The Spanish court claimed that the hand luggage was an "essential part of air travel". "I mean, I'll be surprised if he doesn't win multiple majors. It is incredible how much he's improving and how great a player he's become." Speaking after his victory at Wimbledon on Tuesday, Draper said: "I wanted to play a bit longer. I was feeling I was starting to get my tennis going. "I was playing cleaner.
