The Librarians: The Next Chapter premiered on May 25 on TNT. This sequel series to the original The Librarians series takes place in Belgrade, Serbia, and — joy of joys — it was filmed ENTIRELY on location. Central to the series is protagonist Vikram Chamberlain's (Callum McGowan) Annex. Housed in the 'Belgrade Castle,' which team member, Lysa Pascal (Olivia Morris), inherits in the premiere episode, the impressive structure is, in reality, the Military Museum entrance of the Belgrade Fortress. Fans of The Librarians know that a Librarian's Annex is their access point to the Main Library, an extra-dimensional repository of infinite resources. In The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 1 Episode 1, 'And the Deadly Drekavac,' Vikram unleashes the magic of the Belgrade Castle's well to revive his Annex. This kicks off a whole host of challenges as the magic floods the city and the surrounding area.
The premiere also boasts guest star Christian Kane reprising his The Librarians character, Jacob Stone, who probably regrets rescuing Vikram from the time bubble he activated in 1847. He spends a lot of time in said well, trying to seal off the magical stream.

While most of the interiors were shot in a Serbian studio, there is one spectacular shot of The Belgrade Fortress's actual 'Roman well'. (Fun fact: not actually Roman, nor was it dug for water.) In the series premiere, Vikram gazes down into it from the viewing platform before running down into the (studio-based) well's bottom to dig out the magic. As one does. The Belgrade Fortress is the oldest section of Belgrade's urban core. It consists of the old citadel and the Kalemegdan Park. The old citadel itself is divided into Upper and Lower Town. The history of the fortress is the history of Belgrade itself. This goes back to the 3rd Century BCE when the settlement was a Celtic fortification, Singadunum.
Most of the Belgrade Fortress attractions are in the Upper Town. Here, you can find the aforementioned Roman Well, the Military Bunker, the Casemats (a display of medieval torture devices), and the Sahat Kapia Gallery. From April 1 to September 30, doors are open from 11 am to 7 pm with admission costs ranging from free (Gallery) to 400 RSD (approximately 4 USD). In the winter months, hours change to 10 am to 5 pm.

Belgrade is a modern city that uses technology and commerce to further its historical and cultural depth. If you're not quite ready to hop into a plane for a visit, there's an online virtual tour. All the information you could want about the audio guide is available here. Souvenirs are available at three conveniently located shops throughout the fortress. The largest selection appears to be in the Gallery – Souvenir Shop in Inner Stambol Gate at the Upper Town. Image Credit: Belgrade Fortress Something For Everyone
The Belgrade Fortress is truly an all-encompassing space. For children, there are two outdoor playgrounds, the Belgrade Zoo (known as The White Zoo and Garden of Good Hope), and a Dino Park. Additionally, there are two sets of basketball courts and one tennis court.
Five diverse dining options are available within the fortress. The Mali Kalemegdan restaurant serves traditional Serbian dishes, while the Bitef Art Cafe offers bites to enjoy while taking in a wide variety of live music performances. Go clubbing at The Boho Bar, indulge in fine dining at The Kalemegdan Terrace, or kick back and relax at the Caffe Pobednik.

The fortress rings out with music for much of the summer months. The flat grounds below the fortress is a popular concert venue, having showcased A-list performers such as Amy Winehouse, Whitesnake, and Iron Maiden in the past. Morrissey and Billy Idol are on the schedule for the summer of 2025. The basketball courts also double as concert spaces, and the Barutana space near the bottom of the fortress often hosts electronic dance music performances. For a photo op, fans of The Librarians: The Next Chapter will want to head to the Military Museum in the southwestern area of Upper Town. Adult admission tickets cost 350 RSD. However, be warned, the 'Roman Well' is not located through this entrance. You'll find that about a ten-minute walk away.
The Military Museum does boast a collection of over 3000 items of historical military significance. The artifacts date from ancient times, as well as more modern eras. Keen-eyed viewers will spot their outside displays (tanks, cannons, etc.) in the background as Vikram and his team rush about on various missions.

Everything about filming The Librarians: The Next Chapter on location at The Belgrade Fortress reflects the message of the series. It's very meta that the fictional Library would house an Annex in a real-life space of history and culture. As described on the Belgrade Fortress website: 'Together, the Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park represent a cultural monument of exceptional importance, a venue for numerous sports, cultural and artistic events, a place of entertainment and recreation for all generations of Belgraders and the increasingly numerous visitors to the city.'
The Librarians: The Next Chapter 's series premiere event concludes May 26 on TNT after NBA playoff coverage. Starting June 6, new episodes will air Mondays at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET.

Lauren Sánchez Bezos Wears Atelier Versace to Her 'Dolce Notte' Wedding Party
It's been a weekend of high-profile fashion choices for Lauren Sánchez Bezos. On Wednesday, she attended an event in a 2003 Alexander McQueen dress sourced from Tab Vintage. The next night, for the couple's welcome dinner, she chose a Schiaparelli couture gold corset dress with floral embroidery. And before she walked down the aisle, paparazzi captured her wearing a white Dior skirt suit and an Hermès headscarf. For the wedding ceremony itself, she chose Dolce & Gabbana. 'It is a departure from what people expect…from what I expect—but it's very much me,' she told Vogue of her high lace neck gown. The bride also said she was inspired by Sophia Loren's fictional wedding dress in the 1958 movie Houseboat, which was designed by Paramount costume designer Edith Head. 'I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s,' she told Vogue. Pictures of their high profile Venice wedding have been dominating the internet over the past few days, both due to the celebrity guests—which include the Kardashian family, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Oprah Winfrey—as well as the protests that have surrounded it. However, the pajama party marks the final night of their multi-day nuptials.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos were spotted sharing a kiss before leaving their hotel for a celebration after their lavish nuptials in Venice, Italy. The billionaire and the former journalist were photographed beaming at each other before embracing on Saturday. Lauren wore a strapless pale pink chiffon gown with silver embroidery along with dangling diamond earrings while Jeff sported a black suit. Several of the couple's celebrity guests were also seen in glamorous attire while heading out for the third day of the wedding festivities. Media mogul Oprah Winfrey donned a high-necked brown satin pantsuit with feathered cuffs while exiting a hotel with her friend, TV host Gayle King, who was clad in a floral cape over a cream-colored satin dress. The two carried handheld fans and Winfrey waved at onlookers as they made their way down the stairs. Kylie Jenner was spotted in a white fringe crop top with a matching long skirt while riding in a water taxi with her mother Kris Jenner and sister Kendall Jenner. Kris wore a black and white patterned coat with black feathered trim while Kendall sported a royal blue velvet and chiffon hooded minidress. Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooks Nader showed off her curves in a black off-the-shoulder bodysuit with a lace overlay as she was helped into a water taxi. Earlier in the day, the new Mr. and Mrs. Bezos were seen out and about after saying, "I do" on Friday. Lauren and Jeff were pictured arriving at Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. The couple smiled and waved at the masses as they were escorted by bodyguards. In some photos, Lauren could be seen sporting a wedding ring, sans her striking engagement ring. Several other celebrities joined the newlyweds at the venue Saturday. Usher and his wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, were seen arriving at the event, while Kris Jenner and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, made their own appearance. A reportedly newly single Orlando Bloom was also in attendance. Model Karlie Kloss and actress Sydney Sweeney were seen leaving the restaurant as well. Friday was the couple's big day. Shortly after tying the knot, Lauren took to Instagram to debut her wedding dress and new name. Her updated Instagram account now reads, "Lauren Sánchez Bezos." "06/27/2025," she captioned her post, adding a red heart. She also debuted her wedding gown on the cover of Vogue. Her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress was a mermaid-style lace gown with sheer long sleeves and a high neckline. She told Vogue in her cover story she felt "like a princess." She acknowledged that her wedding gown was more conservative than the revealing looks she has worn in the past. "It is a departure from what people expect," she said, "from what I expect — but it's very much me." Lauren said she was expecting Jeff to be surprised. "It is a departure from what people expect, from what I expect — but it's very much me." "Yes. I think he will be pleasantly surprised. I think he's going to be so happy. I mean, it's so elegant. It's timeless," she said. Her two sons, Nikko and Evan, walked her down the aisle, she revealed to Vogue. Her daughter, Ella, was her maid of honor and delivered a reading during the wedding ceremony. All three of her kids, whom she shares with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell, were wearing Dolce & Gabbana for her wedding. A-list guests arrived in style for the wedding, including Oprah Winfrey and best friend Gayle King. Also seen making their way to the festivities were Ivanka Trump and Karlie Kloss, along with tech titan Bill Gates and Bezos' father, Miguel Bezos. Celebrities have been flooding the Italian streets for days prior to the luxurious wedding, one of the year's most talked-about celebrations. On Thursday, celebrities such as Bloom, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, DiCaprio, Kylie Jenner and others boarded water taxis at various luxurious hotels in Venice, Italy, ahead of the couple's extravagant welcome party. According to People, the couple hosted a welcome party for their guests in a closed cloister adjacent to the Madonna dell'Orto church Thursday night. Guests reportedly arrived in a convoy of about 30 boats. According to the outlet, guests were served pizza cooked onsite by a famous Neapolitan chef. Throughout the day, baskets of white and purple flowers were brought in to decorate the venue, along with a piano, People reported.

'Eat the rich': Venice protests shadow Bezos wedding
At least 500 protesters marched through Venice on Saturday, condemning Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's wedding to journalist Lauren Sanchez, a lavish affair that has drawn backlash in the historic Italian city. "Bezos, out of the lagoon", the demonstrators chanted as they wound through the city centre, some brandishing signs that read: "Eat the rich", "Rejected", and accusations that Venice's mayor is "corrupt". The peaceful protest, held in sweltering heat, was led by the "No place for Bezos" group, which has campaigned for days against what it calls the couple's harmful economic and environmental footprint on the city. "We are here against what Bezos represents, his model, the Amazon model, based on exploiting people and land," said Alice Bazzoli, 24, an activist with "No Space for Bezos" who has lived in Venice for five years, speaking to AFPTV. Protesters later unfurled a large "No place for Bezos" banner and lit flares above the famous Rialto Bridge spanning the Grand Canal. Matteo Battistuta, a 20-year-old student, said he wanted to send the message that "Venice is fighting back, it's not a dead city, it acts in its own interest before tourism's". "We believe Venice can still be a place worth living in," he added. Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, exchanged vows during a ceremony Friday evening on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, opposite St Mark's Square. The ceremony capped off a week of yacht parties and VIP events, due to end with a lavish ball Saturday night -- as Venetians remain divided over the impact on the city's image. Guests included Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, American football star Tom Brady, TV host Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates. cor-cmk/blb/srg/gv
