Oregon Ducks land commitment from 4-star WR Jalen Lott
On Tuesday, 4-star WR Jalen Lott announced his commitment to Oregon. Lott is rated as the No. 49 player and No. 5 ATH in the 2026 class, and he chose Lanning and his squad over the Texas Longhorns and USC Trojans.
Lott stands at 6-foot, 175 pounds, and is considered one of the top pass-catchers in the class, and has been among Oregon's top prospects this cycle.
This was a heated recruiting battle between the Ducks, Longhorns, and Trojans, and with Jalen being the son of James Lott, a Texas legacy, it was felt that he would likely stay close to home and go with the Longhorns. Ultimately, though, he sided with the Ducks, and now becomes the second WR in the class, joining 4-star WR Messiah Hampton, who committed in June.
Before the addition of Lott, Oregon had the No. 14 class in the 2026 cycle, but they have now moved up to No. 9 in the nation.

Oregon Listed Twice on Best College Football Rivalries Rankings
Oregon Listed Twice on Best College Football Rivalries Rankings originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks are coming off one of the best seasons in the history of their program. While it didn't end with them hoisting the College Football Playoff Championship trophy, it was still a thrilling ride. They went undefeated in the regular season, which is particularly impressive when you account for the fact that it was just their first year in the Big Ten after departing the Pac-12. Advertisement The Ducks defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Conference Championship game to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the new-look College Football Playoff that featured 12 teams. However, the first-round bye might have worked against them, as the Buckeyes were coming off a win over Tennessee on December 21, while the Ducks hadn't played since December 7. Even with the Ducks having moved to the Big Ten, their key rivalry games remain on the schedule. Advertisement In a recent article by The Athletic's Scott Dochterman, he ranked the top 100 rivalries in college football. Two rivalries with the Ducks made the list. The first was at No. 27 between the Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers. "No offense to the Apple Cup, but this is the best former Pac-12 rivalry in which the programs no longer share a conference," wrote Dochterman. "Several games the past two decades decided league and divisional titles. With only 40 miles separating the campuses, this rivalry has a chance to maintain its intensity even with Oregon moving on to the Big Ten." The second entry in Dochterman's rankings features the Ducks against their former Pac-12, now Big Ten, rival Washington. Advertisement The two teams first played on December 1, 1900, and have met a total of 117 times. The Huskies hold a 63-49-5 series lead. "These border foes have engaged in a different type of rivalry with one another than with their in-state foes, and this one has especially gained prominence the last 15 years," wrote Dochterman. "This Pacific Northwest series has the highest growth trajectory of any current rivalry." Despite conference realignment, the Ducks will face both of those opponents this season. They'll take on the Beavers in Eugene on September 20, and the Huskies on November 29 on the road, Thanksgiving weekend. Oklahoma Sooners make top 3 for elite defensive end Jake Kreul
The Oklahoma Sooners remain in the mix for one of the best defensive ends in the 2026 recruiting class as Jake Kreul narrowed his recruitment to three schools on Tuesday night. Kreul, a five-star prospect according to ESPN, is down to the Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, and the Texas Longhorns. He has offers from 36 Power Four schools and has the chance to finish the cycle as a consensus five-star prospect. Based on a prediction from On3/Rivals national recruiting director Steve Wiltfong back on June 24, the Sooners appear to be the favorites to land a commitment from Kreul. Cody Carpentier, who covers Texas recruiting for Rivals, also predicted Oklahoma to be the landing spot back in June. The Sooners and defensive ends coach Miguel Chavis has done a great job in OU's recruitment of Kreul, putting them in a great spot to land the elite defensive end prospect. Now that it appears they just have Ole Miss and Texas to contend with, all the Sooners need to do is close out the recruitment with a commitment and get him signed during the early signing period.
