Iraq tightens border livestock checks
At the Trebil border crossing, authorities have intensified inspections in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture's Veterinary Department. Livestock exports are now subject to detailed health checks by joint committees from the ministry and veterinary quarantine teams.
To prevent disease transmission, veterinary teams at Trebil have begun inspecting sheep to ensure they are disease-free and safe for consumption. Meanwhile, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to blocking the entry of expired, spoiled, or contaminated food and animal products.
These heightened measures follow recent FMD outbreaks in Baghdad and surrounding areas. On Sunday, the parliamentary agriculture committee confirmed that the disease had been contained, preventing further spread.

In retaliation, Israeli airstrikes and ground operations have since killed more than 60,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Israeli authorities did not immediately respond to the video. However, families of hostages have been intensifying demonstrations in Tel Aviv and outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, demanding a deal to secure their release.

Israel kills 24 Palestinians in Gaza strikes

Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch said Israeli forces had set up a flawed military system for distributing aid in Gaza, turning the process into a 'bloodbath' and a 'death trap.' The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) warned that more than 500,000 people in Gaza are facing famine, with women, infants, and children dying from hunger and the collapse of healthcare and nutrition services.
