Travis Scott Outsells The Next Two Bestselling Albums In America Combined
JackBoys 2 opens atop multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales, as ... More Travis Scott beats Ateez and Twice by a wide margin. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 12: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (EXCLUSIVE ACCESS) Travis Scott performs at the Coachella Stage during the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club on April 12, 2025 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Most rap musicians rely on hefty streaming sums to conquer the Billboard charts, either with exciting new songs or full-length projects. Hip-hop dominates as the biggest genre in America, easily taking the lead on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, where users gravitate toward the style in huge numbers. A handful of artists in the competitive space have developed fan bases that are eager to purchase new music, not just stream it, and Travis Scott is leading that charge, especially when it comes to albums. The rap powerhouse's new full-length JackBoys 2, which credits him both as a solo act and as a member of the group JackBoys, conquers several Billboard charts this week, thanks largely to an impressive opening sales sum. JackBoys 2 Opens at No. 1 JackBoys 2 — the sequel to the simply-titled JackBoys, which arrived several years ago — opens at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and the Top Album Sales chart. Luminate reports that the full-length shifted 232,000 equivalent units in its first tracking period, with more than 160,000 of those being actual purchases. Both sums easily prove to be enough to send Scott and his fellow musicians to the summit of two of the most important album rankings in the United States, as when it comes to pure sales, nobody could compete. Ateez Misses Returning to No. 1 This week, the second-bestselling album in the U.S. is Golden Hour: Part 3 by K-pop boy band Ateez. That project rockets up the Top Album Sales tally from No. 12 to No. 2 thanks to 70,200 copies sold. That's less than half of what JackBoys 2 managed during a truncated tracking week, as the set didn't arrive on Friday as is typical, but later in the weekend. Travis Scott Beats Ateez and Twice Scott and company outsell the next two bestselling projects in America this week with no real competition for the top spot on the Top Album Sales list. Coming in just behind Golden Hour: Part 3 is Twice's This Is For, which starts with 67,800 copies sold. JackBoys 2 outsold both Ateez and Twice with tens of thousands of copies to spare. Travis Scott Also Dominates the Genre Charts JackBoys 2 also manages to dominate both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts as it arrives. The set doesn't quite make it to the summit on the Vinyl Albums or Top Streaming Albums tallies, instead entering those lists at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut cancels 2025 event over ‘circumstances beyond our control'
Party's over. Connecticut's popular Soundside Music Festival shocked fans when it abruptly cancelled its star-studded event two months before its opening day. 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, [the] Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled,' organizers announced in a statement on the festival's official website on Friday. 'Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.' Advertisement 4 The Soundside Music Festival was cancelled on Friday. NBC CT/Instagram Festival organizers didn't go into detail about what caused the cancellation. Thomas Gaudett, the chief administrative officer for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, alleged the festival was having trouble selling tickets, according to the CT Insider. Advertisement 'It's our understanding that this year's lineup was drawing a lot fewer attendees than we have seen in the last few years,' Gaudett told the outlet. 'And that may have had an impact on the decision to cancel.' The cancellation allegedly blindsided Bridgeport officials, who insisted the city was 'not involved in the decision-making process' and were told the project was being pulled after the decision was 'finalized,' the outlet added. The Post reached out to the festival for comment. 4 The festival already announced its lineup before the event was cancelled. Ticketmaster Advertisement The festival was originally scheduled for Sept. 27 and 28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. It had already announced a massive lineup of alternative and electronic dance artists, including The Killers, Weezer, Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Alex Warren, and DJO. The festival wiped its social media accounts, including its Instagram and Facebook pages, which had over 52,000 combined followers after the announcement. Fans have complained about ticket prices in recent months, according to a public Facebook fan page for the festival. Advertisement General admission for a single-day ticket to the festival started at $170, according to the Soundside Music Festival's now-deleted ticket page. 'Maybe if they weren't so greedy with the high ticket cost there would have been higher volume of tickets sold,' one Facebook user speculated on the fan page. 'I personally wasn't into the lineup this year, but everyone has different taste,' another added. 4 The Killers were scheduled to headline on Saturday. 4 Hozier was announced as the headliner on Sunday. Getty Images Last year, the festival had record attendance, with 57,000 concertgoers swarming the waterfront festival — despite the Foo Fighters dropping out late, according to the CT Post. Officials had expected 32,000 people to show up. The Foo Fighters withdrew from the headlining gig after frontman Dave Grohl revealed that he cheated on his wife, Jordyn Blum, and welcomed a daughter outside of his marriage. Previous headliners included John Mayer, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks and Dave Matthews. The inaugural Sound on Sound festival, which was eventually rebranded as the Soundside Music Festival last year, took place in 2022 and was produced by Governor's Ball producers Tom Russell and Jordan Wolowitz, Live Nation, and developer Howard Saffan, according to CT Insider.

Great New Trailer For Stephen King's THE LONG WALK and First 20 Minutes Previewed at Comic-Con — GeekTyrant
Lionsgate brought some intense energy to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con with a brand-new trailer for The Long Walk , giving fans their first look at the highly anticipated Stephen King adaptation and you can watch tyhat trailer for yourself below! We also got an exclusive screening of the first 20 minutes, and it's as brutal and gripping as you'd expect. I've been incredibly excited for this movie, and it looks like it's going to deliver a very intense and emotional experience. The legendary Stephen King introduced the clip via video message, reminding fans of the story's dark roots while making a point to note how far ahead of its time this concept really was: 'It's got some hard bark on it.' Based on King's 1979 dystopian novel, The Long Walk takes place in a fractured America where entertainment is a deadly sport. The event is simple but chilling: 50 teenage boys walk nonstop. Drop below three miles per hour, and you're dead. There's no resting, no stopping, only walking. The last survivor wins a prize of their choice. The film stars Cooper Hoffman ( Licorice Pizza ) and David Jonsson ( Alien: Romulus ), with Mark Hamill ( Star Wars ) stepping into the role of a relentless military figure. The cast also includes Tut Nyuot, Garrett Wareing ( Ransom Canyon ), Charlie Plummer ( Looking for Alaska ), Ben Wang ( Karate Kid: Legends ), Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, and Judy Greer. In the trailer, Charlie Plummer's character delivers a haunting line: 'The only guarantee you have as a human is that you're going to die. And if you're lucky, you get to choose how you'll spend those last moments.' What follows is an unflinching look at the competition's brutality. Dead animals line the roadside. One boy collapses as he gets a cramp and can't keep walking, falling to the ground, soldiers closing in with rifles drawn before a gunshot echoes. Jonsson's Pete admits, 'I keep hoping that part will get easier,' to which Hoffman's Raymond replies, 'That's what I'm afraid of.' Then comes Hamill's Major, staring down the young competitors: 'I look at each and every one of you, and I see hope.' During the panel, Hamill opened up about channeling the film's imposing antagonist, pulling inspiration from his childhood on a naval base in Japan. 'I knew exactly who [my character] is because I saw him firsthand,' Hamill said, recalling officers forcing soldiers to push through exhaustion until they vomited, and then made them eat it. 'The premise of the film itself is so off-putting. I don't know if I could see this movie. Much less be in it, but what happened was I read JT's script and the novel and saw the real heart and soul of the movie — which is the experience of the Walkers in these extraordinary circumstances. And I was blown away.' The footage teases a growing bond, and rivalry, between Raymond and Pete as they are sharing this intense experience. 'This is my chance to change things,' Raymond says at one point, before Hoffman delivers the line: 'Every moment matters. Especially at the end.' Francis Lawrence ( The Hunger Games films) directed the adaptation from a script by JT Mollner, who promised to keep King's raw and terrifying tone intact. Lawrence also popped in via video message with Ben Wang, currently shooting Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The Long Walk hits theaters on September 12, 2025, making it the second Stephen King adaptation of the year following The Life of Chuck , which also features Hamill alongside Tom Hiddleston.
