Johnny Gaudreau's sister reveals ‘anxiety' over getting married 11 months after brothers were killed on eve of wedding
In an interview with People, Katie Gaudreau opened up about the 'anxiety' she dealt with while planning the wedding, changing the venue from its original location because 'two essential pieces of our day' — the Gaudreau brothers were going to be Joyce's groomsmen — wouldn't be there and settling on a place that'd allow people to stay overnight.
'I wanted a space where we could all be together the night before — somewhere we could sleep over, wake up together, and just be, without having to leave or be separated,' Gaudreau told the outlet. 'I was having a lot of anxiety about everyone leaving the venue after the reception and something happening, so I wanted a space where we would all be together.'

Last August, Johnny — a Blue Jackets star before his death — and Matthew Gaudreau were struck by Sean Higgins in Oldmans Township, N.J., with Higgins admitting to a trooper at the scene that he had 'five to six beers' prior to the crash.
Since then, tributes have poured in from around the hockey community, such as with the NHL honoring Johnny Gaudreau during the Stadium Series game — hosted by Columbus — last season and Team USA giving him a locker in the team's dressing room during the 4 Nations Face-Off.
And Katie Gaudreau wed her childhood sweetheart Friday with a 200-person ceremony at St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, N.J., followed by the reception at The Bellevue Hotel.

'It's hard to put into words how much has shifted and how much I've carried in my heart since last August,' Gaudreau told People. 'Back then, we were preparing with so much love and excitement. I remember the way John and Matty lit up — how genuinely happy they were to celebrate Devin and me. Their joy was radiant, effortless and contagious.'
Gaudreau told the outlet that her brothers were honored in small ways throughout the ceremony, including with her father Guy Gaudreau and Joyce donning custom suits with pictures of the brothers lining the inside.
Her bouquet also featured 21 standard roses and 13 spray rose blooms in a nod to the numbers that Matthew and Johnny wore, respectively, while playing hockey.
'Their love didn't leave,' she said, acknowledging that she felt and honored 'both the sorrow of their absence and the beauty of their presence' at her wedding.

First Look at HBO's 'Harry Potter' Reboot Has the Internet Completely Divided
First Look at HBO's 'Harry Potter' Reboot Has the Internet Completely Divided originally appeared on Parade. HBO just released the first look of the new Harry Potter television series - and fans are completely split. After the network unveiled the first official image from the highly-anticipated series on Instagram, devoted fans took to the comment section to share their excitement for the new adaptation. "Okay wait. This kid even looks like the cover art for the books more than Daniel [Radcliffe]. Good stuff." wrote one commenter. "HE IS PERFECT! ⚡️" added another. Some fans, however, had a more negative reaction to the new series, claiming no actor could replace the iconic Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as Potter in the film franchise. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 "This photo confirms the reboot is so unnecessary. It's basically the same." said one user. "There is just one Harry to me, sorry. This series is so unnecessary." wrote another. Others felt indifferent about the reboot - but expressed disinterest in supporting Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling after she's come under fire for her transphobic views. Rowling is set to serve as an executive producer on the HBO series. "Won't support JKR but I hope the kids do well." commented one fan. "I just wish the money from this wouldn't be used by this evil woman." wrote another. Despite the mixed reactions, it seems like most fans are in agreement that the new Harry Potter actor, Dominic McLaughlin, is the spitting image of his character. Some commenters are even calling on HBO and Warner Bros. to protect McLaughlin and the other child actors from the onslaught of hate when the controversial series eventually goes to air. Production on the new HBO Original series is currently underway at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the U.K., the same studio that housed much of the original film franchise. The series is set to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max. HBO has previously described the reboot as a "faithful adaptation" of Rowling's seven Harry Potter books, with each season expected to cover one installment in the series. The show will exist independently from the original film franchise.
