Aamir Khan reveals why Imran Khan does not fit in the industry: 'He's not comfortable with herogiri'

Time of India09-06-2025

Imran Khan
made his debut with 'Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na' and
Aamir Khan
was one of the producers on the film. While Imran was loved in his first film and went on to do movies like 'Break Ke Baad', 'Delhi Belly' and many others, he took a long break from the industry and hasn't done a movie in a while.
In a recent interview, while Aamir was promoting his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', he spoke about why Imran doesn't fit in the industry.
He said in an interview with Screen, "Imran has a certain creative instinct. He finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct we have. That's not his natural space. Which is why he'd do really well in a film like Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly. He's in his element there."
He added further, 'But the moment you put him into a regular Hindi film, he won't fit.
He's not comfortable with herogiri. He wants to play a real person. Everybody was offering him mainstream films because he's good-looking. But he wants to be an actor, and not a star."
Imran was away from the limelight for a while, but recently, his Instagram posts created a lot of buzz. He started expressing himself on social media. In an interview with Vogue, he also opened up on the reason for his break from the industry.
He said, "I hit a low in 2016 where I felt broken inside. At that point, it wasn't my career because I wasn't excited by it enough to want to work hard for it. I had recently become a father and thought, 'This is valuable.
This is something I take seriously.' I wanted to be the best version of myself for Imara. I decided it was no longer my job to be an actor. Now, I had to fix myself; be at my healthiest and strongest for my daughter."
Imran was married to
Avantika
and got divorced in 2019. They have a daughter, Imara. Imran is now in a relationship with Lekha Washington.

It was more powerful than I thought... I feel like a princess.' 'It went from 'I want a simple, sexy modern dress' to 'I want something that evokes a moment,' and where I am right now. I am a different person than I was five years ago. I went into a lot of therapy, and it's changed me in a bunch of ways. But it's really Jeff. Jeff hasn't changed me. Jeff has revealed me. I feel safe. I feel seen. He lets me be me. Like I said about Sophia Loren being unapologetically free, he lets me be unapologetically free,' Lauren said. More details Lauren's demure wedding dress, which she started planning a year and a half before the wedding, took over 900 hours to create and was part of a lavish ceremony on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. Lauren called her stunning wedding gown a 'piece of poetry' as she shared behind-the-scenes look at her pre-wedding preparations. One photo showed her surrounded by many people as she put on the Dolce and Gabbana dress. In the caption, she wrote, 'Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you Dolce and Gabbana for the magic you made.'

Aamir Khan is back with a bang! His latest film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has won over audiences and is doing wonders at the box office. Big jump on second Saturday 'Sitaare Zameen Par', directed by RS Prasanna, has shown superb growth on its second Saturday. According to early numbers by Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 12.75 crore on Day 9, which is much higher than its earnings on Friday. On Day 8, it made Rs 6.65 crore, so this is almost double. With numbers picking up again on the second Saturday, it looks like Aamir's faith in his film and the cinema experience has paid off. What is the film about?
