IRGC Video Explaining 'Death to America' Chant: We Call for Trump's Death and for the Death of the Presidents, Cabinet Members, Senators, and People Whose Hands are Soiled with the Blood of Millions o

On July 22, 2025, the IRGC posted to its Telegram channel a video explaining what the Iranian regime's slogan 'Death to America' means. In the video, a woman explained that the chant is a call for a humiliating and despicable death for the people who committed a genocide against the Native Americans, enslaved black people, dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and waged war against Vietnam, the Philippines, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. She said that it is also a call for the death of those who have supported the 'Zionist regime,' as well as death to the presidents, cabinet members, and senators whose hands are 'soiled in the blood of millions of innocent people.' She concluded that right now, the slogan is also specifically a call for the death of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Iraq modernizes Dora thermal power plant

Baghdad ( – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, initiated on Monday an important renovation in the Dora thermal power plant in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The upgrade includes renovating two existing thermal units, each with a capacity of 160 megawatts, and installing two new units, each with a capacity of 160, bringing a total of 640 megawatts to the grid, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). During his speech at the inaugural event, al-Sudani emphasized the facility's strategic value because of its location in central Baghdad and capacity to use output from the neighboring Dora Refinery while adhering to strict environmental requirements. Al-Sudani underlined the government's continuous efforts to ensure fuel supply to all power plants and achieve energy independence. The Iraqi prime minister illustrated that Iraq will become self-sufficient in gas supplies for all power plants by the end of 2027. In February, the Iraqi cabinet approved the Ministry of Electricity's $480 million Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreement to develop the Dora power plant.

Turkish-Syrian visit to Iraq soon

Shafaq News – Baghdad/Ankara/Damascus Turkish and Syrian foreign ministers are expected to visit Iraq soon to continue tripartite talks held earlier in Ankara, a well-informed source told Shafaq News on Thursday. The upcoming meeting is expected to focus on several key issues, including the formulation of economic policies into formal protocol agreements, as well as discussions on security, politics, and regional partnerships. Talks will also reportedly be guided by principles of shared interests, good neighborliness, stability, and non-interference in internal affairs, according to the source. Earlier, Turkiye's Yeni Safak newspaper reported that an Iraqi delegation—including officials and representatives from financial institutions—took part in discussions with the US Department of the Treasury in Ankara and Istanbul, alongside Turkish and Syrian counterparts. The talks aimed to explore the lifting of previously imposed sanctions on Syria and to strengthen cooperation in combating money laundering and terrorism financing. This will mark Al-Shibani's third visit to Iraq, following two earlier trips — the first in March, and the second as his country's representative at the Arab League summit hosted by Baghdad in May.
