Airtel's Nxtra raises renewable energy sourcing deal with Ampin to 200 MW
Airtel
on Monday said it will source additional 125.65 megawatt renewable energy from Ampin Energy under a fresh agreement signed between the two companies.
With this, the total renewable energy partnership between the two companies has crossed over 200 MW (megawatt).

"Nxtra by
Airtel
and AMPIN Energy Transition have strengthened their partnership with a new, power-wheeling agreement involving 125.65 MW of
solar-wind hybrid energy
through
Inter-State Transmission System
(ISTS) connected plants," Nxtra said in a statement.
Earlier, the company had signed two deals for sourcing around 75 MW renewable energy from Ampin.
The additional capacity will be delivered to Nxtra in two phases, each through captive solar-wind power projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka, respectively, the statement said.

"This achievement highlights our leadership in using ISTS-backed clean energy to power our facilities sustainably, boosting reliability and ensuring tangible climate impact," Nxtra by Airtel, CEO, Ashish Arora said.
Ampin has been supplying solar power to Nxtra through intra-state, open access in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha.
With this new agreement, AMPIN will add 11 new states as well as new technologies such as large-scale ISTS renewable energy supply and the seamless supply of renewable energy from a single Independent Power Producer (IPP).
"With this partnership, we demonstrate that through a seamless blend of inter-state and intra-state renewable energy solutions backed by a pan-India presence, we can take any customer through a nearly 100 per cent energy transition.
"Nxtra by Airtel, a leader in the data and fast-growing data centrespace shares our vision for sustainability and we are proud to make data centres green by this association," Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Founder, MD and CEO, AMPIN Energy Transition, said.
Nxtra joined the global RE100 initiative in June 2024, pledging to source 100 per cent of its electricity from renewable sources.

Having played a massive role in earning a famous draw from an almost hopeless situation, Gill and his team go into the finale with momentum on their side but gaps to fill. Like Gill, Stokes too have led by example and despite battling multiple niggles, the England leader would be pushing his injure prone body to the limit. With their fast bowlers also jaded, England have added Jamie Overton to the squad. With 511 runs, K L Rahul has been a model of consistency at the top of the order but more will be expected from Yashasvi Jaiswal and number three Sai Sudharsan on what is generally a decent batting surface at The Oval. In injured Rishabh Pant's absence, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja are expected to round up the top six following unbeaten hundreds that denied England a victory in the fourth Test. The Indian management firmly believes in having a batting option till number eight and that could possibly lead to Kuldeep Yadav being once again left out of the playing eleven despite constant calls for his inclusion over the course of a long and gruelling series. Dhruv Jurel will keep the wickets and could bat at seven in Pant's absence and Shardul Thakur might retain his place at eight despite not exactly enjoying the confidence of his skipper. Going by batting coach Sitanshu Kotak's comments ahead of the fifth Test, India will retain the template that has been followed thus far. "See you have to see the balance of both batting and bowling to win the match. Because, like you're saying, you have to take 20 wickets. Similarly, it's equally important that you score 550-600 runs," said Kotak. "Overall, if you play with 6 bowlers, then some bowlers will under-bowl. So, if that 6th bowler is an all-rounder, then you know that he will contribute in batting and in bowling as well. "If he is a pure bowler, and has under-bowled then after the match, when you look back, you will think that rather an extra bowler a batter would have made a difference," Kotak all but made clear head coach Gambhir's thought process. On the bowling front, Akash Deep is expected to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the playing eleven with the latter advised to not risky his body. Mohammed Siraj will be the leader of the attack and third pacer's spot will go to either Prasidh Krishna or Arshdeep Singh, who has patiently waiting for his Test debut. Surrey amassed more than 800 runs in the last County game played here but it remains to be seen how the pitch behaves for the high stakes clash. Considering the short turnaround, England cancelled their opening training session on Tuesday with head coach Brendon McCullum only turning up in casual clothes to have a look at the pitch. Microsoft restores email and other services to Russia-backed Nayara Energy ahead of high court hearing
Microsoft has restored access to email and other services for Rosneft-backed Nayara Energy , reports news agency PTI. The development comes before a scheduled hearing in the Delhi High Court over the service suspension after the Russia-backed company filed a case against the software giant. Nayara accounts for about 8% of India's total refining capacity. It operates the country's third-largest refinery at Vadinar in Gujarat in addition to over 6,000 fuel stations. The company typically exports at least four million barrels of refined products per month, including diesel, jet fuel, gasoline and naphtha. Why Nayara Energy sued Microsoft It all started when Microsoft suspended its services to Nayara Energy allegedly after the European Union included the company in a new round of sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine war. Russian oil company Rosneft owns 49.13% of Nayara Energy Ltd, earlier known as Essar Oil Ltd. Another 49.13% stake in Nayara is held by an investment group called Kesani Enterprises Company. Kesani is also owned by Russia's United Capital Partners (UCP) and Hara Capital Sarl, which is fully owned by Mareterra Group Holding (formerly Genera Group Holding S.p.A.). Nayara responded by taking legal action against the 50-year-old software giant. Calling Microsoft's move as 'unilateral' and made without consultation, the company said in a statement 'Microsoft is currently restricting Nayara Energy's access to its own data, proprietary tools, and products—despite these being acquired under fully paid-up licenses'. "Nayara Energy has initiated legal proceedings against Microsoft following the abrupt and unilateral suspension of critical services.
