Amazon Deals of the Day: One of Our Favorite TVs of 2025 Is Down to a New Low Price

CNET15-05-2025
Amazon sells a gazillion products, with new ones dropping daily. The retail giant carries everything from home essentials to tech gear and wellness items. And Amazon loves reducing prices almost as much as it loves adding new products. Deciding which deals are (and are not) worth grabbing is a full-time job — our job specifically — which is why we scope out the top deals.
Today, we found one of our favorite TVs of the year, the Hisense U8N for over 40% off. We also found a two-pack of Anker chargers for just $10 total. Finally we spotted one of our favorite affordable open wireless earbuds, the Baseus Bowie MC1, for a nice $20 plus a freebie for Prime members.
Picking which TV to purchase is tricker than you think. Not only do you have to consider size and price, but also many different specs like screen type. The Hisense U8N TV will probably check off most of the boxes on your list as it's one of our favorite TVs of 2025. We love it because it has an excellent image quality as it has a mini-LED display with Anti-Glare Low Reflection technology. It runs on Google, making streaming a breeze. It's also built with a great design, making it easy to operate. It also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, making this TV great for gaming too. The 75-inch usually retails for a hefty $1,600, a great size for living rooms or home theaters. But right now you can score one for just $940. This saves you 41% and drops the TV well under $1,000.
Nowadays, it seems that less and less electronics come with a charging cable in the box, leaving you to purchase one yourself. Plus with all the devices we use these days, it can seem like we're always running out of chargers or cables. Having a few spare ones laying around is a pretty good idea. Anker's USB-C cables are six feet long, so it doesn't matter if the outlet isn't right next to you. They also charge your devices pretty fast, with a MacBook Pro charging under 30 minutes. The cable itself it made with premium double braided nylon, meaning it's super sturdy and won't break easily. You can currently score not one, but two of these charging cables for just $10, bringing each one to just five bucks. They normally go for $16 for two so you're saving 38% on this dual-pack.
The Baseus Bowie MC1 Open Ear Clip-On earbuds are our favorite affordable option for open-ear earbuds. These earbuds are built with a clip-on design that wraps around your ears. This makes wearing them pretty comfortable while still staying securely in your ear. They have long listening time with a battery life of up to nine hours. Don't be scared to take them on your adventures as they have an IP57 certification, so they are splash and dust-proof. Prime members, don't miss your chance to score these affordable buds for even less with an exclusive $20 discount just for members. This brings the price down to $50 but that's not all. You can also score a free Baseus USB-C cable, a $16 value, for free. Simply add both items to your cart and the cable will come off automatically.
With so many deals on Amazon, deciding which ones are worth your money can be difficult. But that's the reason CNET searches everything the world's largest online retailer has to offer before gathering the best deals for you.

'The Trade War Has Lost All Credibility:' Markets Shrug Off Trump's Tariff Blitz On Multiple Countries

As President Donald Trump unveiled a blitz of new tariffs across different countries on Thursday, the markets remained largely unfazed by the move. What Happened: On Thursday, in a post on X, The Kobeissi Letter highlighted the market's muted response to Trump's sweeping new moves on the trade and tariff front. The post notes that Trump 'randomly' increased tariffs on Canada, the largest trading partner of the United States, from 25% to 35%. Followed by a string of new tariffs on others, such as 'Vietnam, Switzerland, South Africa, Taiwan, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, and Venezuela.' Trending: 7,000+ investors have joined Timeplast's mission to eliminate microplastics—now it's your turn to Yet, the market response was underwhelming, with S&P 500 futures 'down a mere 10 points,' which the post attributes almost entirely to 'Amazon's weak earnings results.' It says that in April, when the 'Liberation Day' tariffs were first announced, such a move would have sent the S&P 500 lower by 3% or more. The post says 'the trade war has lost all credibility' in the market, and that it has lost the 'shock effect' that it had a couple of months ago. Why It Matters: This could be seen as a fallout of the 'TACO Trade' meme, or 'Trump Always Chickens Out,' where investors buy equities right after Trump makes a tariff threat, knowing fully well that he will eventually back out. Economist Peter Schiff recently called this 'a classic paradox,' since markets not reacting to Trump's tariffs, because they expect him to 'chicken out,' will eventually lead him to follow through on his threats. 'Investors assume Trump will cancel the August 1 tariffs before they kick in, so stocks aren't selling off,' he says, but since there isn't a dramatic market response to this, 'Trump won't chicken out again.' After Microsoft's $4 trillion milestone, who will be next to join the club?

Microsoft became the second company to pass a $4 trillion market cap mark after a blowout earnings release on Wednesday afternoon. That release showed quarterly revenue up 18% year over year, and net income up 24%, which resulted in Microsoft shares increasing more than 4% on Thursday, bringing the company's overall value past $4 trillion. Exclusive: Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations, potentially exposing sensitive user data Emotionally intelligent people use the 2-week rule to motivate themselves and reach their biggest goals Middle management is dead On July 9, Nvidia was the first to top the $4 trillion mark. Over the past three years, Microsoft's stock has more than doubled. Yesterday's milestone comes roughly six years after Microsoft passed the $1 trillion mark. Other companies are also hot on its heels. Here are five others that could become the next $4 trillion companies. Apple Apple will report earnings on Thursday after the bell, which could have an impact on its overall value. As it stands, the company has a market cap of roughly $3.1 trillion—still a ways off from $4 trillion—but it is the third-largest public firm in the world, measured by market cap. It was the first company to cross the $1 trillion, $2 trillion, and $3 trillion market cap marks, and shares are currently trading at around $210. Notably, shares are down almost 15% year to date, but they have nearly doubled in value over the past five years. Amazon Amazon is the fourth-largest public company in the world by market cap, with an overall value of around $2.5 trillion. Like Apple, Amazon will report earnings after the bell on Thursday, which could increase or decrease its value. The company does have a lot of ground to make up on Microsoft and Nvidia to reach $4 trillion, which would require some significant movement in its share price, currently trading at more than $230. Alphabet Alphabet, Google's parent company, is the only other public company worth more than $2 trillion as of this writing, with a market cap of around $2.33 trillion. Like Amazon, that means there's quite a lot of work to do to get to $4 trillion. Alphabet's shares were trading for around $192 on Thursday afternoon, which was an intraday decline of 2%. Alphabet's most recent earnings report came out on July 23. Meta The only other company within spitting distance of $4 trillion is Meta, which, as of this writing, has a market cap of around $2 trillion. Following its latest earnings release on Wednesday, Meta shares increased 12%, with revenues up 22% year over year, and net income up 36%.
